A Tidbit From The Studio.....

I've been busy. Probably a little *too* busy, as I am still in P.J.s and bunny slippers, getting my second wind back from a looooooong day yesterday.
But here is a bit of what's been going on at El Milagro.

This table WAS clean. It took me two minor projects to get it to this state.
I know you remember seeing the heart collage/painting after the work was FINALLY returned from the gallery last Fall. I was so happy to get the work back, I just gave it a quick once over, then safely stashed it.
Well, went to photograph the paintings for files, and what do I discover on this one?
DOG CLAW MARKS.
Yes, you read that right; the art had been left where a dog could get to it.  Scarred the paper, removed color and took the varnish off. After a bout of cussing (it was a good one too) and a LOT of work, I finally got things repaired and filled with a couple of layers of heavy varnish. The two pieces in the background had to have clay pieces repaired and revarnished also.
Thank you so much Gallery Off Broadway for your PROFESSIONAL CARE of other artists work. Now pass the Excederin.....
Happier notes~~knitting.

This is from sari yarn, though not the type I've used before. It worked up into a nice piece and at the end of the day I was pleased. It's off with it's new owner, who loves it. :-)
I had promised a photo if I had something *crusty* from my new Michael DeMeng  class, and I am teasing you with a PEEK.....

That's all on it for now.....I'll need a day to put a good coherent post together! LOL!
And finally, to end a long and hard working day~~as I was ready to shut the lights down for the evening, I looked out the window, ran to the studio and grabbed my camera to capture THIS:

No color retouch, no adding; this was one of the most amazing sunsets we have had this winter. The salmon glow from the clouds was coming in the house.
I ran out with no coat or hat to try and capture a bit of the warmth.
It was grand!
So all in all, a good day.
A very very GOOD day.

Channeling *Chicken Little*

Once upon a time a foolish girl headed out with her camera on a very hot (97 degrees) afternoon, with bleach on her hair, to snag a few photos of flowers.
But she looked up and saw a passing cloud with the sun and thought, "Gee, how pretty!"

(and actually, it was!)
Then she wandered some more and looked up again and thought, "Gee, that doesn't look as nice, but I'll take a photo anyway...."

(and it wasn't as nice...it was a little stormy looking)
So she was smart enough to cut the bleach job short and get it all out before the possibility of loss of power, as the weather had the feel of a storm.
Later, this is what she saw, and should have been in the house, but the bleach had affected her brain, so out she went, camera in hand!

"My, those look like scary fingers reaching across the sky....."
And they did. Only to be followed by;

This.....and.....

This....and....

THIS!!!
(and those last three photos? no, she should NOT have been out at all, as the winds had changed and the storm was bringing in a smell that meant business!)
Everything was black as night and just like Chicken Little, she was running around, though taking photos due to lack of sense, and thinking all the while;
"The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"
AND IT DID.

Happy Sunday from a very foolish girl......

The Afterglow of No Blog......

I don't know about the rest of you, but being blogless for several days was both a blessing and a curse.
I got a LOT of work done, and it gave me some deep insight into the amount of time I spend with the blog; cropping photos, trying to get a post together that makes sense, looks appealing, etc. The extra time was the upside.
The downside, of course, was not communicating with all the wonderful bloggers out there. I would wager that the analytics on Face Book for the past couple of days went straight through the roof!!! Because we all seemed to swarm over for some *quality time*!  ;-)
And I hate to admit that it is quicker and easier (for the most part) to slap a few words onto FB and forget it.......
But it is not the same as *Talking* through the blog. I am glad to have it back.
My current project is one that will not be on here until it is done and delivered; I have taken maybe ONE photo in process because I have been working so fast to finish it and, well, I can no longer remember much of anything. HA! As if you did not know that!
So instead, I leave you with one of our exquisite and amazing after-storm sunsets.....when I look at the heavens and wonder how they can go from utterly frightening to completely beautiful-beyond-words so quickly.

There is a divine hand involved no doubt.
To you all, have a wonderful weekend! I'll be about as I can.

In The Sky.....

Dear Readers,

This post was brought together before the heinous and devastating weather hit our Southern States. (I have been away all day and am now catching up) It was with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I read of the toll that weather took on our brothers and sisters in the overnight hours.
My prayers and heart go out to all who have been wrenched from a life they knew, have suffered ultimate loss and hope that soon some of the church agencies throughout our country will be helping our brethren in desperate need.
May you all be blessed, and kept safe from harm.

Anne

In the sky, there are white billowing anvils......

There are mountains so tall the sun stretches to peek over....

Cotton candy colors; they seem to say, "Can you dream THIS BIG???"

And at the end of everything, the eye of God, to say goodnight......

End Of Day…..

Above

The sky is warming.

I see the mists from jets

So far away.

I wonder where their

Contrails lead my musings

And wander in this

Golden time of day.

The ether

Catching magic glow,

And I,

A lone observer

Here below.

I capture only

Hints of what I see

And wish, perhaps,

Those contrails

Carried me…..

Big, Big Sky

By chance, as I was scurrying about on a house errand (escaping the studio for a second) I looked out the front windows and saw this massive, amazing sky.

Click the bottom photo to get a better look. These are Autumn skies slowly gracing our views---the days may heat, but the clouds say that the cool of the year is on the way.
I shot these with my little Canon Power Shot A1100IS, as it has the panoramic feature on it, and when it does panoramic.....Holy Cow! What a big file! I think I could print a mural from it......
It looked like a sweep of a giant paintbrush across the blue of the ether.
A rather lovely start for a Monday morning, I think.
