Scarf...(ahem)...Surgeon Follow Up

Hey everyone! This is a quickie as I am pooped from the day out for the appointment. We had (of course!) blowing snow this morning so it was a bit longer getting to Fort Wayne but overall the roads were good. I was nervous for this first follow up due to not knowing exactly where I stood.
Okay---pun intended!!!---laugh!
From the room next door I here my doc gently scolding a woman about exercise, etc and I'm thinking, Oh Lord, have I been GOOD???? Puh-leeeeeze!!! (I have to admit after the last hip adventure with Dr. Jackass involved, I did have some trepidation about the appointment today.)
I got to see the X-Rays of my hardware, which was pretty cool really, and when the Surgeon came in he was very happy with my gait and my ability to do the ballet-bend to pick things up off the floor. The leg has good ROM and.......LOOK OUT WORLD!!!.....
I Officially Can DRIVE!!!!
LOL! I did not tell him I had been practising....... <:-)
So I have to pace myself, keep doing what I am doing, and then next month, we'll see where we are. He did find humor in my keeping the biohazard container and spent sharps for art; he just laughed and shook his head. That's fine. Obviously, at some level, he gets it.
And, I wore the scarf---that huge monster was exceptionally warm wrapped a couple of times about my neck; it was windy and extra cold up there. And DH and I had a nice time.....
So, if I don't check in tomorrow morning, well, you got double of me in one day and what more could you ask for???
Double the brain drivel, double the fun!
Now I am off for feet up, hot tea and maybe even a snooze.
Oh, I did start a hat with the leftover yarn. There will still be enough for socks for centipedes......oy.
Many, many centipedes...........

Pax.

P.S.  Yes, this is the lazy way of *answering* comments......at least for today! If I totally missed something, let me know. It is quite possible.

Yesterday's Venture

(this is NOT me....in case you were wondering.....but I do rather like those fringed satin drawers she's wearing!!!)

Yesterday turned out quite well......I am happy to say I have a perfect incision! And let me tell you, it is a big honking incision, but reasonably smooth and nicely in the process of healing. Of course, my days as a sexy lingerie model are over with.....LOL!!!
Seriously, I saw the Dr's Nurse and she was very, very happy with how the incision was healing, how I was ambulating and the fact that I felt good and really had no questions other than when I could get rid of the compression stockings. (one more week of grueling workouts trying to get that mother on the sock-puller-thingie and yanked onto my foot without killing myself in the process! and you cannot appreciate this maneuver if you've not DONE it......)
I still have the restrictions on bending, etc, which I have been most careful with anyway, and of course keeping things clean and sterile and the Ecotrin to keep my blood thin----which, as cold as I normally am, I'm thinking it is pretty thin on it's own! HA! I have one old ballet move that allows me to pick things up from the floor without bending the hip at all, but I neglected to mention that. I mean, no one asked and I thought why bother or have to demonstrate.....  :-)  I go back in a month, and I am hoping at that time I may be a bit more flexible, or allowed to be flexible, like *Miz Twistee* up top........nah, not really. I'd be unable to get myself undone if I ever tried anything like that, though I can't figure why I would want to.....maybe DH would have an answer to that one! SNARF!
All in all, it was a good day with clear roads and time with hubby, who has been a saint throughout this process. I am sure he is ready to put a leash on me so I can only go so far and get into only so much......
I have officially hit the point of *ants in the pants* and each day it gets worse. I want to work but spend most of my time exercising, trying to clean up, do little things in the house and then flop and snooze. Most of what I normally do in the studio is still *undoable* due to bending restrictions, so it's best to stay out other than sitting at the computer in the morning. Knitting is, at the moment, the best I can manage and I am keeping myself restrained so that I don't have to go through all this fun again. Once, I think, is enough.
So I am going to attempt to find something to amuse myself with today that keeps me out of trouble and on that road of recovery......it is sooooooo hard to be GOOD!!! (and a lot of you know that from personal experience, too!!!)
Until later, when I have something of modest interest to post......or brain drivel that is boring but humorous......or I'm just going stir crazy and feel the need to share.....
I bid you all,

Pax.

Off for the follow-up......

....I'll post tomorrow about what I found out. If I've *been good*, if things *look good*, if it's all starting to *heal good*.................the word good is involved in this far too many times for my comfort level! I am never THAT GOOD!!!!!  ;-)
All yesterday afternoon and into the early evening it snowed. It snowed Christmas snow; the type that starts with the big fluffy flakes that are languid and slow in their descent and soon turned into a more rapid, smaller continuous snow that will not be stopped. It is beautiful beyond words and  is sort of a late Christmas present for me.....the eternal child, always wishing for a white Christmas.
I don't know what we got out of it; hopefully the roads will be clear between here and Fort Wayne, which is usually an hour and twenty minute drive.
I am thinking, this morning, there is much to be said for a few horses and a sleigh......besides the perk of free fertilizer for the flowerbed come Spring. LOL!!!
Until later......

Pax.

P.S. I had to include this of my dear, dear hubby, out making sure we could get out the driveway.....he looked like Frosty the Snowman when he came in, poor boy! He has had his hands full with me; I don't know how he tolerates it! (plus, he does indeed read the blog, so he knew I had been up to mischief while he was sleeping. hmmmmph! LOL!!!)
Yes, it is a huge, double drive.....
