Long Time No Blog!!!! (or, OMG-How-Did-I-Survive?????)

First off, I have missed everyone sooo much!!! It seems as though I've not blogged in months, but I am thinking it is closer to a week......my brain and time evaluation make for bad partners.....LOL!!! Frankly, anything associated with my brain anymore makes for a bad partnership. Hmmmmmm.....must be Mental-Pause.

Updates on my hands, pain, etc. I am on a new med. It appears to be helping, as long as I behave. Behave, as in:

--Watching how much time I spend on here.
--Watching how much I do that is stressful.
--Watching my knitting SIT and not get any bigger.......
--PFFFT!!!

Photography is still in the *can do* catagory, so I am thankful for that!

I received so many lovely comments and well wishes over the time I was off here, I am humbled and completely blown away. And at a loss for words too. I appreciate every single one. I think I got most of them posted. If there were a few I did not post, it was because something struck me as exceptionally personal and I squirrelled them away in my e-mail, where they keep my heart warm.
Thank You----all of you! You remind me why I blog!!!

So to gently glide back into the routine, I am posting some delightful shots I lucked out with. This butterfly did not seem to mind posing at all, and I took full advantage of the situation. The one photo with both the butterfly AND the bee was a perk---I did not know the bee was in it until I brought it up to size it for publishing! One of those lovely little surprises of photography!
I have been working on some art, and when I post it, it will be in a couple of photo intensive posts. Been trying to remember along the way to take pics of what I am doing.......we're back to those brain issues again. (I've noticed the new med does NOTHING to help my forgetfulness, eventhough it is just for arthritis....I mean, is it too much to ask for ONE PILL to fix EVERYTHING?????LOL!!!) So hopefully those will start being put up later this week.
The only adventure of note I have had was when I took the hatchet to chop down a dead tree in the yard and then dragging it to the far reaches of the back forty to rot. The sight of me, squatted down, swinging a razor-sharp hatchet and wearing soft shoes and knit pants is...well....something you don't want to think about before breakfast.
P.D.U. (pretty damn ugly!)
I really need to lose weight so I can get back in my work jeans......or at least be sensible enough to put on my steel-toed work boots.
Now that I have utterly ruined your Monday morning with that mental visual, I shall leave. There is art to be made and hopefully I can work my way around a few blogs before the hands give out.
I'm really trying to behave.
Really.
REALLY.

Quit laughing.....

Pax.

Anne,
It was wonderful to see your post this morning and I'm glad you found some relief (my mom suffers the same way and I know sometimes the med's side effects cause their own woes). Don't over do it put a timer by the computer (a really loud one that startles you when it goes off, not one of those quiet buzzes, lol). Have a great day, it looks like we're getting some much needed sunshine.

Hey Christine,

I have a timer....I forget to set it. Heck, I bring it to the studio and it gets LOST on the table with all the junk!
I am feeling surprisingly better eventhough we have rain today, which usually means everything seixes up.
Maybe we've found the right one.... :)

I never realized how much I would miss you until I felt I was cyber-stalking you by checking your blog & facebook! You are so inspiring and one heck-of-a-woman. Through the pain and med ordeal you still manage to create and be humorous and work and take amazing photos. Thank you for the equip comment. And please do take it easy. Sending you a huge hug and hope you are feeling less pain. And we'd never laugh at you. You are beautiful in & out/rare combination. Oh and my blog-versary is coming up so I'm having my first giveaway! (Shameless advertising SORRY!)

perk, indeed - it's gorgeous!
I wish I could take a decent *&^%$!#$#@^A$%$#!# photograph LOL.

Hi Elena!

Ah! I just KNEW there was someone looking over my shoulder....LOL!!!LOL!!! :D
I am doing better---it seems odd having some joints move that haven't really worked right in at least a year. And trust me....if you could have seen me out there with the hatchet....it was one of those *glad I live in the country* moments. I am too much entertainment for a subdivision!
Give-away! Ooooooo.....yes!

Oh Tristan.....ROFLMAO!!!!!
It is all my camera, I swear. It is an auto focus, does the aperture setting with it's brain, not mine, and I am lucky to have a built in macro, though I wish I had a camera with a body I could change lens.
I guess I just sort of shoot waaaaay too many shots, then pick out the good ones.
I should do a post of my really BAD pictures...that would be a hoot!

...and to think, I paid to have a tree cut down!

I love Dames Rocket. I planted some in our flower beds a couple of years ago, and they are finally getting established.

Glad you're back, missed ya.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

See Vicki, you could have had ENTERTAINMENT and gotten the pesky tree out!!! HA!
I would like to get some of the white dames rocket I see along the roadsides. HAve not seen a place I think I can get in and out of without hurting myself.....but I really want some of the white. The two will cross, making blossom heads with varigated flowers. Mine have sort of gone berserk.....

Welcome back! The photo with the butterfly is just beautiful!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Thanks Janet!

Ah, it's GOOD to be back int the world of blogs.... :)
And I was stunned when I uploaded the pics with the butterfly. The light was so bright outside, I had no idea what would show up and what would be burned out.
Did not even have to adjust the color balance...it's straight from the camera!

Oh Anne, fantastical shots! Very dreamy. I don't think that chopping down a tree and dragging it to the back forty is on your list of things allowable....naughty naughty Anne. Ever so happy to see you back!
**blows kisses** Deb

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Deb,

I have to be naughty SOMETIMES! LOL!!!
No, the tree probably wasn't on my do list, but it was easier doing it myself, ya know? ;)
Actually, I have been avoiding todays do-list as I don't want to go out in the rain, but it seems I cannot avoid it. Pfffft!

welcome back nature girl. i think you are now barred from cutting down any trees. but you can take photos of every butterfly. beautiful shots, anne. :)

i hope this medication fits the proverbial bill. tell that good attitude of yours to give it a start kick.

i visited your most recent post also but became entranced by the snake trainer music. i had to be shaken free.

emily sends you her regards. she is still plotting and i'm pretty sure the nefarious possibilities will include you. save your bail money.

love love
kj

ps it really is nice to have to you back. maybe you could learn to type single words instead of sentences, like: ooohahh! no way! certainly. fuck that! i agree. blah blah. (gee, i hope this suggestion helps) (aka: me hopeful)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi KJ,

No, I mean....SERIOUSLY! Do you think I could get by with one or two words??? And if that happens. call the medics because I will have keeled over and be drooling and blubbering....."Post......On.....
Blog......Gone......."
AH-HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Hey, I'm the one that, last year, tormented one of the nurses so I could put up a blog post that I'd fallen and Fx'ed my hip! One finger pecking, on morphine.....
LOL!
And by the way, the *two words* you mentioned (ahem!), I am VERY ADEPT with those, but prefer them being delivered in person!

P.S. Saving bail money for an Emily-outting.... ;D

Hi Anne, I am so glad you are back in action, and hope your new medicine works wonders. Please don't chop down and haul any more trees, it sounds like not doctor's orders!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Terra,

I think when I see the Doc again, I may selectively *forget* to mention the tree cutting activity! Of course, he might think it was okay and proof the meds are working! LOL!!!
He knows me......*sigh*....

Ok, Anne, I seriously doubt that chopping down trees and dragging them across the yard is part of your "behave" list! Or is it?! I'm so glad you are back and that that meds are working. Thoroughly love your butterfly and flower shots!! Love, Silke

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Silke,

Shhhhhh.......don't tell!! LOL!!
At least I ammore mobile, yes??? This is good!

Absolutely gorgeous photos! Two of my favourite things...any shade of purple and butterflies.
Hope you are feeling better and behaving...but not all the time..It is SO boring to behave ;)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey WDC,

I could NEVER behave all the time! SNARF! (which is part of the reason I end up in these physical messes...)
Thanks on the photos---they were just that *right place, right time* delightful surprise you occasionally get. I think one or two would make neat cards.....

So glad you're back and posting Anne. That butterfly, oh my, it is gorgeous. I've never seen one like before, very cool! Keep on keeping on girl!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Julie,

We have loads of those butterflies here; actually I thik they are the ones whose larvea prey on cabbage and such, but they are a delight in the flowerbed!
Now I just have to remember to take it easy..... >:/
