Hello???

......I am on here just checking that everything works. We had a storm come through and take the lights out at 8:30p.m.---quite horrible, even by my standards. Power has been back up about 10 minutes....doing the electrical appliance run to make sure all is working.
The yard was white with hail and I was out before it all started taking photos....yes, DUMB. And I found out I can indeed run on the bum leg. Geez!
I thought I would lose a couple of trees; leaves from the neighbors trees were ripped off and deposited on the far side of our lot.
Clumps of oak leaves, too perfect to leave, were collected and brought in. I may try photographing them. Somehow, the Sunshine Locust trees all stayed in one piece though half their leaf clusters are gone.
I think I have had enough of Indiana for a goodly while.
I will be plumbing; the sump pump busted a hose, so Anne shall put on the plumbers hat (but not pants!) and deal with that mess. And the big hairy spiders down there too.
Life just gets better and better.....
Will load pics later if they turned out; camera is in the house and I am ready to pack it in for the night. Too much excitement today!!! :-D

Pax my friends.....

The gods must be crazy because we are experiencing the same dilemma here in Ohio...hot steamy days and rainy nights of wild winds and downed trees. You simply crack me up lady...be careful with those bionic legs...and plumbing skills...who knew? Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Please put on the plumber's pants, HAHAHAHAHHAHA! My gosh Anne. Readig about your experiences there, I wonder why people live in Indiana. I have never been there. I wish I visited when my eldest sister was a Fulbright exchange professor at Indiana University in Bloomington. She said there were a lot of corn fields but also many beautiful places. No Hail to the Hale!

I'm glad all seems to be okay again after the storm although it sounds like it left a bit of a mess in its wake. Stay safe, Anne ~

It came in from nowhere.....at first I thought, oh it's just going to pour and thunder.
O....M....G....
I did not tell DH but I was sure at any moment a tornado would come out of the white sheet of rain and hail.
Unbelievable......I am exhausted today.

Ces,

We get here and then get stuck! LOL!!!
Truthfully, years ago there was a lot more beautiful land around where I live; rolling hills, woods, birds, etc. Improper farming has hurt a lot of the acreage and people moving from the decaying city/towns to put a trailer on an acre in the country. There still are parts of the state that are nice.
But when your property value tanks, well, you just ride out the storms!
Plus DH's JOB is here....nuff said!

Hi Serena,

Yes, I think what got the worst end of it was little old ME from being up so late and running around checking sump pits and then doing the whole perimeter walk after it had left.
My neves are not what they used to be.... ;D

Anne, I am at my Mother's outside Boston and I KNOW what you mean because that storm hit us last night and OMG. I thought I might be struck dead. It felt and probably was directly overhead. Poor stella. She shook and panted.

So you are a plumber too. But no rubber overalls? My Dad had the biggest pair of rubber pants-- they could stand my themselves!

Have a nice weekend, SS. Please try to stay out of major trouble until the pipes are happy. And listen closely, Anne, those leaves may whisper a secret or two. :)

Hey KJ,

I had watched it as I was posting last evening and was amazed at the steam it bicked up. It was well over Ohio and still charging along.
I really hate this time of year!
Still raining this morning, so I may have to wait on plumbing. I just have muck boots (farm boots)--the rest is old clothes that can get ruined for this work.
NOT looking forward to it. Pfffft! Plus DH has to work this weekend, so I don't have mu *runner* for things I forget to take to the cellar.
Take care!

I guess what goes around, comes around eventually. We just had the storm an hour or so ago and I posted about it!

Your's was worse though, no hail here but we did lose power three times. Holy moly, Mother Nature has such fury sometimes.

I hear it's going to be a big hurricane season this year too.
Sixteen years in CA without a thunderstorm and now I'm smack in the land of them again.
Oddly enough, I'm liking them :)

I'm glad you're safe!

Lolo--the hail here loked like sliced pieces of agate--about the size of nickles.
I hate these storms; they are so destructive. We've had trees ripped aprt or taken otu by them before, so it's always checking to see if the house is still together and that I don't have to get the chainsaw.....
