First off, Welcome to new followers that I have neglected to post a happy and heart Hello to! Forgive me....age and cabin fever are taking their toll.
This is, for the most part, an artless post, other than the photos, taken at approximately 11:00 a.m. yesterday. The snow was coming down very heavily, and I, in my infinite wisdom, found it too hard to resist just walking on the porch to snag a few images. Up by the house it was clear; how could this hurt? What trouble could I get into?
My favorite vista, across the road....quickly becoming obscured from the snow swirling in from the East. Beautiful, but I know those Nor'Easters bring lots of the white stuff.....
My glass hummingbird feeder, that should be in the house, wearing a lovely white topknot and a bit of a white kiss on the feeding flower. This, this bright bit of red, was what drew me out. It must have been my inner-magpie responding to the shiny tid-bit......
Then I got brave and decided to walk on around the porch (large, L shaped) where there was snow, but hey.....I have a cane and I am being careful, right? No harm.....just take my time. The pines really showed off the weather continuing to roll in at an alarming pace.
And not to be forgotten, my favorite tulip tree, covering with snow. I was at the very end of the porch, having naughty thoughts about stepping off and going out in the yard. As the title says, I need custodial care. I need a leash that only lets me go so far and then reels me back in.
Quickly.
Before more stupid ideas come, and they always do......
What stopped me from further *adventures* was the fact that the bottom of my shoes were so caked with snow, I was having trouble balancing, even with the cane. So it was back indoors for me.
And now the fun part. Why, you may ask, do I want to see a photo of your shoes?
Because, gentle readers, I stepped in and my feet immediately FROZE TO THE DOORMAT. Yep, couldn't move. Couldn't get the shoes off, couldn't get the snow off, did NOT have the phone (all thebraincells were obviously not working)---I stood there, stuck, in every sense of the word! And I knew if DH got wind of this, I would be in deep something-or-other, because I'm not---repeat NOT---supposed to be out when he isn't here, or someone semi-competent.
There I stood, cussing, and working up enough hot air that something must have loosened the shoes from the grabby doormat. I immediately stepped over to my good, wool, hall runner and did a backwards scoot that looked much like a pooch when it has a nether region that needs scratching. It was ugly. It was funny. It was on my BEST RUG!!!!
So the lesson is, maybe I should listen to DH.
Or get the leash with the choke collar.
I am thinking he, if he reads this---and sometimes he does, would vote for the second.... :-)
Have a day with all options open to you, and no *getting stuck* in any way!!! LOL!!!
I bid you, from my humble, warm casa/prison.....
Pax.

The farthest I am going today Dear Friend is to the mail box.... Now the mailbox requires me to put one foot on the porch & reach around to it. Unless there is a package waiting for me I can do this easily. If there is a package I must put 2 feet on the porch...aaarrrgh!! No packages expected. Just some vintage stamped embroidery pieces I won on Ebay!! Hopefully they will arrive today....
Stay in...Stay warm & Stay safe!!
Love,
Marilyn

Hey Marilyn,
My mail box is 78' down the drive.....I'm thinking I'm going to wait on DH today as he threatened to put a house arrest anklet on me!!
So it's art and tea! ;)
Unless I think up something else!!!!

I've just found your blog today, and I really like looking at what you have done. So interesting to see all of your beautiful work. Makes me want to get off this chair, and start something creative!
You have a lot of snow, here in the south we just have sleet, ice, dusting of snow. I do like the picture of your hummingbird feeder, and I too, have a hammock that is still outside that should be in!
Stay warm up north!
Ulrike
Oh, Anne - do I have to come over there and follow you around, saying things like "No, Anne, it's NOT a good idea to go play in the snow!" haha! Dang girl, you be careful. :) TRY and be good. LOL! xox Pam
Hi Ulrike--
Welcome and glad you found the blog! Content varies....I'm in artistic mode now....sometimes that is not the case. :)
Now get off that chair, and do *anything* creative! And be glad you're not shoveling snow in sub zero temps....not fun! Creative is much better!!!
Come back again!

Anne
Yes Pam, you DO, because if you were HERE, we'd be playing in the studio and I wouldn't be getting into trouble!!! (well, not as much....) It would be fun to say the least!
I promise, Miz Yoborobo I shall try and behave today..... >:[

thanks for the smile to start the day! and the photos are beautiful. have a great day!
Thanks Marianne!
I do beleive they were worth being frozen to the rug, though at the time I would have said otherwise.....quite verbosely!!!
Off to paint...

OMG, I can just picture you doing the "doggie scoot!!!" Aaahhhh, mental picture!! Get out of my head!!!! I can relate though, I always do things that I'm told not to do (You're not the boss of me!!) and invariably, get into trouble, sometimes. I was never that experimental as a kid, not that much, much worse now that I'm an old fart.
Well, don't go back outside, you may not get lucky again!!! LOL
Love ya,
G
Oh I was the same as a child, so for me to be as *obedient* and I do use that term loosely, as I have been has about made me bust a gut!
It was pretty funny; perfect punishment for being a baaaaad girl! LOL!!!
I'm in studio for the day--working on hearts and paperclay ideas. I think this is safe..... <:)

Leash with a choke collar!!! NO NO NO. I think you learned your lesson...the road to humility is covered in humiliation. Beautiful photos. **Happy Friday Kisses** Deb
Anne, I think these things happen to you just so you have fun things to tell your friends and followers. LOL!
The photos are beautiful. I envy you all that gorgeous white snow. We were supposed to get some last night but not one snowflake fell from the sky.
Stay put, stay warm, and create!

No Deb,
I am one of those people who NEVER learn my lesson!!!! Case in point, standing on chair behind bird cages this a.m. pinning a quilt up over the patio doors.
I think of this now and see all sorts of possible hazards; at the time, I'm just worried about the Peep-Meisters......
Gary knows he has his hands full. He needs video surveillance! LOL!!

Hi Audrey,
Yes, it was absolutely gorgeous coming down---amazing to watch. I wanted to be standing out IN it...but..... <:)

Forgot to mention the CUTE shoes!!
(: ♥ them!! The look like something you might have painted...
Nope---I lucked out and bought them this way:
skulls, roses, and a tattoo like banner that says "Attitude"!!!
I think they are definitely an *Anne* purchase!!!! LOL!!
They have elastic, thus, I can wear them without help. Or trouble. :)

Ooh that look cold! I'd get out there with my racket and start swatting at that snow tell it to go away!
Hey Rondell!
Yepper---it is cold! but I whined a lot this year that I wanted snow.
And now I have it....and the cold.
What's a girl to DO???
(go to New orleans and have an Abita and Po'Boy from Johnny's Po'Boy's...then one would forget the cold quick!)
Come summer, I'll complain it's too hot and too many storms...LOL!!

Oh Lord...I was reading this and trying very hard not to think about what you could have done to yourself. I had visions of you falling or getting stuck in a snowbank...or locking yourself out. It was a huge relief when I found out it was *just* getting stuck, inside, on the mat. I'm sorry to admit that, when I got to that point, I cracked up.
Now, just to let you in on how dumb *I* can be, check out todays entry on my blog. I think I've beaten you, and raised you a couple of cards on this one!

Laugh my dear!!! I am now---it's funny when it's over!!!
off to your blog and see what YOU'VE been up to! :)

OMG, you about made me pee my britches. Frozen in time as it were, choke collars, spew alert, spew alert...
Hey Anne,
You are so naughty. I'm glad nothing serious happened to you. I wouldn't get my daily laugh, reading your blog!
Ah, my favourite is still the red heart on damask background!
Have a great weekend, stay warm and INSIDE
Hugs,
Anna
Magpie Mumblings said about exactly what I was going to say. I'm so relieved that is all the bad that happened to you, getting froze to a rug! You behave, girlygirl!
Hey Leslie, I just tell it like it is......LOL!!!
Yep, those are the exciting tidbits of my life at the moment, and I amd thinking the collar would REALLY be a good idea...
Leg is NOT HAPPY this a.m. therefore, I will be in couch& knitting land, as opposed to the studio....pooey. >:(
But I was on it all day yesterday....
XXOO!!
Anne
Hi Anna,
I will probably have pics tomorrow (Sunday) of the damask hearts all finished. A lot of change has taken place but I think you'll still find them beautiful!
