Well, sometimes it takes just a bit to shake off the crud and get life back on a managable path. For me, it was purging on blog. For DH, it was finally feeling like he was at the end of whatever it is he has had to suffer through. Thankfully, nothing resembling pneumonia this time around.... <:-)
I am sewing, or doing errands. Both have to be done today and it is just a matter of which is going to fall where. You know; the typical artist juggling act. Should we EAT and have MONEY in the bank or should I work in the STUDIO? (we all would pick the second choice, I know...)Decisions, decisions.
HA.
The second banner is progressing and I must admit the voices of friends make the work easier and more managable. Like, I can believe I will have both done! Barring illness or the complete collapse of the universe as we know it...and then it wouldn't matter.
Later I will have to post the pics of the finished "Socks-From-Hell" and the "Almost-Stockings" I have toiled away at in the spare resting moments of evening, sitting with DH. The "Almost-Stockings" are almost done, needing a ribbed top, which could take a while, or until the yarn runs out....whichever comes first!
And now I am off to become Wonder Woman and get everything done today.
(I hear you laughing....)
May you have a great week and may you be creative!
Pax.

Good Monday Morning Anne!!
Good to hear you & Hubby are on the mend with no further illnesses!
I have yet to "tackle" my socks... I keep saying after the Holidays. I just don't want to wind-up with my jaw clenched at Christmas trying to figure the pattern out!!
You said in a comment that you both have PT Cruisers. Our daughter has one too... Hers is black with purple Ghost Flames. She bought it like that & it was used. In fact I think it was a repo. She has had it for several years & it is a good little car, 2002.
Gotta' go..... Gonna' be nice again today!!
Have a Productive & Healthy Week!
Love,
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn,
Yes, definitely wait till AFTER Christmas to start the socks. I am thinking with a bottle of champagne handy.......LOL!!! Don't stress yourself before hand. You need some quiet time to get it figured out, then it is easy...well, mostly.
I've already been at the worktable, on the banners, so happy with early progress!!
Rain here....and I have errands. Pooey.
XXOO!!
Anne
When I was younger (oh, my.....) I would go to "auto-pilot" before a busy couple of weeks - I would tell myself so many weeks till it was done and just kind of go there mentally until I was done. Those days are definitely gone. I do what I can, and if it's critical, it gets done. I won't lose my life for weeks at a time anymore. It's become too important to have some form of art every day, even if it's just on the 'puter!
Hey Linda,
Goos lord...that sounds like how I used to work. Now I just do what I can, see each little bit that is done as a triumph and try and figure in my head if I'll meet deadline, which I think I will.
Sometimes, life just has to slow down. The blog is my saving grace....I take time for it.....out of everything else, I take time for this for me and for those who follow.
It is a good thing!

Anne
i'm so glad you're feeling better! my body usually yells at me to slow down if my mind isn't bright enough to pick up on what needs to be done..... have a great monday!
Hi Marianne!
My mind is NEVER bright enough to pick up on it......I have to be at the point of non-movement, and then it's an "Oh. DUH." moment. LOL!!
Back to the sewing....

Hi Anne! I am so happy you are both feeling better. :) I went to a conference over the weekend, and tried very hard not to breath! LOL!!!
I can't wait to see the banners when you get them finished. I have several orders to fill myself. This is my week to get to it. I would love to get them mailed before Turkey Day. I hope my hair doesn't ALL fall out. hahaha! xoxoxox Pam
Hey Pam,
Yep, I'm on the same schedule. Just taking a break to try and figure out some technical crappola before bringing the other banner back to the studio, to mark positions of the candles on the WIP. I'm awaiting my *giant brain* to have a moment and kick into gear...LOL!!!
We should both be in the same stae hair-wise by the end of the week....I have a coulpe of wigs; you want tacky ash blode or hacked up dark brown/black??? ;)
I figure if I get one more blog post up this week it will be surprising...
Good luck with your work!

Well, Anne, today's post sounds like you are more at peace with yourself. Apparently it was good that you got your concerns out in the open and came to some realizations. We could all use some inner peace.
Now if I could only find that tranquility.....
Happy Day!!
audrey
Well,Audrey, that's what the blog is for!
I think, putting it out there, writing it, hearing others thoughts, thinking and rethinking.....it just helped immensely. I've worked this a.m. and am on break to try and mentally figure out a pattern problem before bringing the other monster banner out. Have thought of things I had not before, so obviously the mental block is gone.
And tranquility can come in a nice bottle of good wine, with some cheese, fench bread and fruit! ;)
HAve a good one!

I am glad to hear you are and your DH are feeling better. Ugh! I hate illness. I am looking forward to seeing the sock from hell. Do they need socks down there? Hahaha! Oh Anne, there are also some things that I grey and I ponder on them but political correctness is something I truly abhor. It is tantamount to eating our hearts out and there is a lot of that going on around. People would rather be polite that stand for what is right. I have only one life. I can't teeter on "about to make a decision" while I am responsible for someone who is in dire need of assistance.
I mean find grey.
Hey Ces,
Why, yes, you do need socks in Hell to keep your tootsies from burning on the coals! LOL!!!
I find P.C. the same a slying, and being raised in a combination of Parochial/Military Base schools, well, that was NOT an option.
So usually I am in trouble for opening my mouth, which seems to have developed a mind of it's own with age......which is not necessarily good!
I just hate being sick due to time lost. the sewing I am doing now requires me to be completely healthy to hoist the stuff around, so I am thankful for today. Very much so!
I am still mourning your lost nuts...... <:(

Happy sewing day, Anne! I am having a problem with work cutting into my fun. I must find a job where they don't expect me to actually work. **blows kisses** Deb
Deb, when you find that, let me know if there are TWO openings, because I would most enjoy to do something I have fun with and get paid too.
(shakes self to wake up)
It's only a dream....it's only a dream.....LOL!!

ah - so glad that you're in a better frame of mind - and better health!
Tristan....I'm pretty sure onegoes hand in hand with the other!
And I just found out they have developed a tiny digital Rolleiflex camera, like the one I learned to shoot on....except it was large, heavy and had Dad attached.....
I wonder if Santa would bring me one???? I need to give him the *hint*......

So wonderful to hear you're both feeling better,Anne! Things are on the upswing!
I got the H1N1 flu vaccine on Saturday..having asthma and Type 2 diabetes made me eligible ..
altho i believe most anyone can get it now...it was very restricted at first. We are still having clinics for it...mine was at Blessed Trinity church here.
they were all amazing...only glitch was the computers broke down, causing delays.. I have had no reaction...so, glad i went!
I wonder what the application will be for you and DH? after all you've been thru, you may already be immuned!
XOXO, gypsy
Hey Gypsy,
That something DH and I have wondered; should we get it? After a round of that and a round of the regular *whatever*, even with my sensitivities, those shots are looking reeeeeeally good!
He said he was going to call the Nurse and ask, but until the work is off the table, I'm not taking anything! LOL!
And it has been a most productive day....there is HOPE!
Glad to hear you were able to get the vaccine; hope all goes very easy for you.

I am behind and just now reading your last three posts. OH MY!
First, your body does know best... please listen to it more... we want you healthy in every way!
Second, I'm surprised you don't already have an etsy shop.... get to it, girl!
Last, yes, you were vague and it was appropriate. I'm so tickled I found you on the cusp of change. This is when life is most exciting! Fasten your seat belt and DRIVE 'YOUR' ART!. This new friend is along for the ride!
my god child Amber gave me a small acrylic heading the says "Wonder Woman works Here". ... sound familiar??? I think we all have the answers already about food and money to live...but there are times when I so want to work through the night. Pace yourself Ladybug. I wish I could knit like you magicians who create wonderful socks! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
"Well, sometimes it takes just a bit to shake off the crud and get life back on a managable path"...yes, I totally get that, Anne. Been there wayyyy too many times. (smile). So glad to hear that DH is finally on the mend. I wish you both much love and comfort and solitude this week! Hugs!
Hi Di,
Yes the past few posts were, well, not perky and lovely, except for a few photos!
I just got an e-mail this a.m. that a friend took the plunge and opened an Etsy shop, so I know as soon as I can get these large jobs out, that will be on the list.
Things are okay now other than spending a whole day killing myself yesterday, but a lot of work done! It's a great relief!
Now I suppose I need to go find my Wonder Woman tights for the day.... :)
XXOO!!
Anne
Hey Mary Helen,
I did not make it to the bank or grocery! A whole day---repeat---WHOLE DAY in the studio! I think the Wonder Woman thing is funny....we ALL are, aren't we?
So today, dang it, I may have to shop......pfffft. Unles I can cobble together a chowder and put it off one more day! LOL!! And I might!
Get a very basic sock book, one that has mini-socks, like ornaments?, and learn from that. Those make cute gifts and have the whole process of a real sock.

Hi Sophia,
Yes, it is amazing how the right words or the right rest can get a person back on track. Friends, peace and quiet, focus, it is all a rather magic formula.
Blog Friends are the magic part! ;)
Have a great week.....back atcha!
