Ice~~ing

When Winter breaks out
that special palette;
the one with glimmer and shine,
Out I trek.
No thoughts to
health or self.
There is magic to be
CAPTURED.
Quick!

It will be gone.
One too many sunbeams,
clouds parting for
extra seconds,
the magic kingdom
disappears.
I hurry.

To capture worlds trapped
within frozen droplets,
To see the cross
between snow
and frost.
(don't breathe~~all will melt~~this is not the real world)
And find a star
in leaf debris.

Autumn ashes made beautiful again
by this frozen
kiss.
Photos captured
as diamonds dance
in the frigid air.
I am in
Fairy-Land.

And all will pass.....
.....too fast.
Blink.
It is gone.
I dance in the diamond-glitter,

let the shards of
frigid
fall on my face.
And quickly retreat.

Magic only lasts
so long.

Thanks!

It was a morning that I could not adequately capture with the camera, breathing in frost flakes that shone in the sun.....and it felt like Fairy Land most sincerely!

Next time Janet, I grab a coat, hat and gloves. So I can stay out and shoot longer and not turn into a popsicle in the process.... ;-)

Jack Frost never hangs around long, it's true. He's a ramblin' man.

Hey Corrine,

I seem to be perpetually near the couch with hot tea! LOL!
I don't think being out changed anything one bit. The cold air felt good in my lungs.
Not elsewhere.....but the lungs!

Hey Debra,

We need to pin Jack Frost down, somehow, at least for a few hours longer.... :-)

Magic only last so long. Yes. 34 years is not enough. I love how you still find the magic, even in this time, the Biggest Work of your life. I am trying; succeeding in small ways. I think I need a Breath of Heaven. Lovelovelove your photos and words...much like a Breath of Heaven. **kisskiss** Deb

What beautiful words - soft and magical, speaking of moments held lightly before they pass - dissolve slowly back into something else - life is wonderful

exactly so... and it is amazing you caught those fairies in the jar of your lens so perfectly. I don't know if you had a chance to listen to the healing womb podcast yet... but it is very much in alignment with your post dear Anne.
