A Little Light Housekeeping.....

"Hello! Mom cleaned today when she wasn't sewing for Pastor Steve."

"Would you like to come in and see? I don't have guests often, but am happy to offer some honey treat...."

"Everything is so nice; I just have to show it off a little!
You don't mind, do you?"
"I should be humble...but it looks so nice and I like company!"

"Mom says you all make her smile, so I'm smiling back at you too!
Thank you for popping in thru the blog~~I wish it was in person and I would sing for you!
Say, do you TWEET???

Sincerely, Sweet Pea"

Well, in between my assigned duties of laundress, charwoman and seamstress, I was also birdie-mom-housekeeper.
I shot the first photo just to put on Face Book; it never got there because *little one* flew right down to the front perch to check out what was going on. She has no fear.....I wish she had a little, due to the single leg situation.
Some day, she'll hop right out that door....
And now I have to fly the coop and get back to work! ;-)

Such a prettie birdie! We all like a nice clean house!

Pam, she has the SWEETEST disposition....not like my other two feathered fire-balls! Totally different!
I about fell over when she came to the front and just sat and *posed*~~checking out all that was going on!
What a bird! What a treat!

Hey Marilyn,

I think *The Pea* enjoyed the cleaning more than I; she was quiet interested in everything going on and all I wanted was to not get a face full of, ummmmm, leftovers??? ;-D
LOL!!!
But it was a sewing break, which I needed to think some things out.

Hi Ulrike!

Yes, I love a clean house, but *I* don't seem to get one....the birds do however.
Hmmmmmmmm.....well, they're a lot cuter than I am, so I guess that's why! hahaha!!!

Lolo, that bird moves at the speed of light. I cannot catch her, even when I need to in her house to do some nail trimming.
But she doesn't seem to want OUT~~she is just curious about EVERYTHING.
Yeah, she is a cutie! ;-)

She is a real beauty.... her colour is so pure (like the "driven snow") - ha-ha! That swish of deep blue at the back looks like the Sky dipped down and marked her! I really love the black markings above her eyes.... you have given her the perfect name! What happened to her leg? Did you get her that way? She seems to have adjusted really well.. (almost "too well"...the little "Speed Demon")!

Sending hugs from (gasp) a *Sunny San Francisco*!

♥ Robin ♥

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Robin,

Her little cap markings have reduced as she has gotten older; when she came home, she had a much more pronounced black cap!
As far as I can tell, the leg issue was from birth. She has a very healthy thigh muscle, but on the same side as the missing leg, there is a slight difference around her eye (which is lessening as she grows).
So I am guessing it was strictly an *in-egg* issue; happens more often with the albinos. When the light is just right, there is a tinge of red to her eyes.
And yes, she starting adjusting to her new digs second day she was here. I think she knew she hit the Birdie Lottery!

Great pics. She sure is a pretty bird! Hmmm, I guess I should clean my poor canary's home. I tend to be pretty neglectful.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well, I should have done it sooner....life gets crazy and you keep thinking *tomorrow, tomorrow*.
Probably why she was so willing to pose and be happy!!! (she's always happy though!)

Oh good heavens, if she isn't the prettiest bird I've ever laid eyes on! So bright white and beautiful! Wow! Yes, yes, please tell her I said so and let her head swell up with pride. She deserves it! And one leg? I never even noticed. I guess a little personal radiance can overshadow anything. :D

Gorgeous bird Anne. Do you know that they originate here in Australia? I don't have budgies in my garden, but I do have rainbow lorikeets and other parrots. Check my blog... 'Rainbows' at http://jomurray-art.blogspot.com/

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Ah yes Jo; since bringing the little ones home, I have researched them a lot. Seems the English Budgies all sort of look like Winston Churchill; round and stern! (considerable size difference from the American Budgerigars)
I will have to check your link~~~I love birds, especially the ones with personality! As all three of my little stinkers have...LOL!!!
