....But still lovely!
For any of you wondering, we were not blown off the map; we might FLOAT off but everything is okay.
I was out (as usual) in the weather recording the moments.
And there was a lull in the storm when I noticed this interesting composition the rain had made~~bowing the poppy and everything wet and lush and looking different. My garden is an alien landscape now.
I have a few projects in the works and will be in and out as I can!
Miss y'all!!!

Simply beautiful! I always enjoy nature after a soaking rain (not a huge storm) - things always look so clean and lush. I am amazed that poppies can withstand anything fierce - they are so delicate! Here's to a peaceful day!! Love, Silke
Some of them shattered but the others just bent down and let the rain come.
Always amazing how the plants adjust to the weather.
My iris, on the other hand, look a bit SAD.
I cut the best and brought them in the house.....

"A bit weathered, but still lovely." Aren't we all, Anne? Aren't we all.
Debra, I have come to the conclusion I am getting more and more *weathered* and am way behind on the other part! LOL!!!
Have a good one!

Hi Anne. I love poppies-such spectacular flowers!! We sat watching the weather channel yesterday afternoon, as a tornado was only 15 miles away and heading towards Columbia-we live upstairs in a condo, so I called the downstairs neighbor to make sure he was at home, in case we had to make a run for it. We decided it would be cozy in his bathtub with me, George, Sparky and him. Luckily we weren't off to Oz after all!!
OMGosh Janet!!!
I checked the weather your way and couldn't believe it....I guess this morning I am sap-silly because I was getting a visual of all of you crowded in the bath!
And yep, I don't want to visit Oz either! We need to stay HERE!!! (and glad you ARE!)

Glad you are all okay. Storms are something and wreaking havoc on all our gardens, we got a gully washer too and my Spring display is done. Have fun creating. xox Corrine
Corrine, I think that is why I am always running around with the camera daily~~to record it in the brief moment it is in bloom!
Because it may be flattened in 5 minutes!
Hope you have a good creative day!

My garden looks like the moon's landscape...112 days without any precipitation!! I've always started my herbs from seed, but this year, they just didn't germinate due to the hot, dry winds...they just blew away, so I went out and bought some already started...bleh! I'm trying desperately for them to make it since it's been blowing lots this Spring. And my poor little flower pots need watering everyday too...I'm really hating this drought!!
Loves ya,
G
Believe me Georgina, I wish I could send you some of this water.....not fair that you are so dry there.
I always love pots of plants, but hate the watering! (because I usually forget!)

LOVE the photo, glad you haven't blown away but if you're being washed away point yourself in this direction. Been having lots of trouble posting comments so I've been meaning to say the stole ROCKS!
I think I need Super-Glue on me to stay put!!! LOL!
Big thanks on the stole~~it really was a joy.

Glad you are doing okay. As I walked up from the wet forest yesterday in the rain, I looked up towards the house and there was what looked like a bright orange flame in the yard. It was the first brilliant poppy, it had opened up in the pouring gray rain.
Glad to hear you are still on the map Anne!! Beautiful photo as always! Hope the weather improves soon! Hugs!
Still worrying about you and all these storms. It must be like living on a knife edge. Thank heavens you are still of a mind to capture a beautiful image. Take care,
Hey Jan,
Aren't the old fashioned poppies the most beautiful shade of orange ever? Nothing compares to that first one in the garden~~~glad you have a bright spot!

Hey Cathy,
Yepper baby, I'm still here! Too mean to get blown off, I guess. (although I am sure I worried away a few brain cells, and lord knows I can't lose too many more....) ;-D

Hi Jo,
Most of the time, you sort of just adjust to it but I have to admit yesterday was, hmmmmmm, something I don't want to repeat! I'm quite thankful today that we were just *overly watered*. :-)

This has to be the year of the strangest weather, ever. We are now very hot and humid. Last week was cool and very wet. But whatever we are, we don't have any tornadoes (knock wood) and I am grateful for that. Lovely pics, Anne! I love poppies. xox Pam
Hey Pam,
Channeling the Wicked Witch; "Poppies......poppies.....hehehe...."
Always loved the poppies, hated the witch! LOL!
They're saying 90 by Monday...WT..????

Love the poppies, glad you came through it with them. I'm sure you're feeling battered after the past few days but you have an indomitable spirit that just shines. Carol XXOO
Hi Anne!!!! this is a beautiful poppy....and I love that it is a bit weathered!!!! We have had our share of some amazing storms here!!! Keep safe!!!!
Hi Carol,
I'm not sure I'm shining....I think it is that glazed look I get when I am running out of steam and just staring aimlessly! LOL!!!
Am planning studio work today, plus a few other fun things! YAY!

Hi Diana,
Don't you just LOVE the color on poppies? Nothing subtle at all...like ballerinas in bright dresses!
I still don't know how they stand even the most gentle of rains....
We're okay thankfully, so that means catch up in the studio.....you know the routine!

I think poppies have to be my absolutely favourite flowers - so delicate and yet so strong. Your photo definitely does justice to their spirit!
