They should at least find you HANDY!
DH and I had the opportunity to meet his idol, Red Green. (and for any of you who don’t know who this is, well, you just have to see one of his shows…..trust me…..men at their, ummm, most creative)
DH turns to Red and says, “I learned all I know about tools from you.” At which point Red goes deadpan, looks up at me and says, “I am so very sorry!”~~completely in character, not missing a beat! (laughing too hard to get a shot of that of course….)
It was a fun day and a rarity for us; we seldom get time away let alone to meet someone famous.
Yes…I *am* that fat and the clothes don’t help. I am not even going there. Won’t discuss it.
Worn out this evening but wanted to share the humor with everyone. And remember….
I’m pulling for you; we’re all in this together…..

Your not fat, your fluffy. Love Red Green, how fun for you all and what's with the Maple Leaf Shirt?
Wicked is my DD, it's really me, Leslie responding..
Hey Leslie,
Around this house, the Leafs are IT!!! DH scored a hat trick in that sweater, played I don't know how many hockey games in it and now has met THE MAN, so I am sure it will never be washed again!
Seriously, I have gained weight but good lord, I might was well have stuck some pillows in my clothes to look THIS BAD....ACK!!! (I opted to dress for comfort for once---never again! plus I was scrunched down so I wouldn't tower over him....)
Someone has to love the Leafs!!! hahaha!

You look good to me--you've got your shirt tucked in--if you can tuck your shirt in, then you aren't too fat!!
Looking good to me too, Anne. I can't tuck my shirt in. But I know what you mean, AHK!!!, I'm always saying that when I see myself in a photo. I feel tiny, but I look huge - that's just not fair. I looked up Red Green and now I know what that's about. Your posts are a lesson in North American culture. Carol xx
Anne - you are not fat! I am trying to get to where you are, and I am a LONG way off! (Ask me, I just had to weigh at my doc's office - eeeeeek!!!:) You look adorable (and happy!). Glad you guys snuck in some fun. We all need to do more of that. xoxo Pam
How much fun is that! I love your hubby's shirt. And you are not fat you look beautiful. Nice for you to get out and have some fun with hubby.
You don't look fat at all. Why do we all think we look fat in pictures? hahaha
You look good, girlfriend. There is NO tucking in of anything on this body these days. I really must work on that.
Glad you had an exciting time with Red Green. You get to do all the exciting things. It must be good to be queen. hahahaha

Glad you got some fun in and were able to meet someone famous. I've never heard of him, is he like the tool guy?:)) I think you look great, healthy, shirt tucked in nice and neat, no bulges, hair neat, smile on face, what more could one want? Your beautiful, so be happy. :)
A real live celebrity! I mean that's better than the royal wedding isn't it?
Red Green is a real favorite in Alaska, they even have a duct tape boat race named after him. Us* WOACA are allowed to have a little padding right?
xoxo Kim

I just LOVE Red Green! His humour is very Canadian. My fave is the Man's Prayer -- "I'm a man. But I can change. If I have to. I guess." Nice touch with the Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, DH! And Anne, you are absolutely not fat at all. Get that thought right out of your head!
You got to meet Red Green?!!? wow, how did that happen? Lucky you and the smile on your face says you know how lucky you are. He's kinda cute, too! When I saw your photo I thought, what a sincere smile Anne has! She looks happy! What is that necklace she is wearing, did she make it? Oh, cool sleeve on her jacket, did she make it? We always see ourselves as bigger than we are, I wonder why that is? this is why I wear clothes that are too big for me, I can never believe I would fit into those small clothes, so I'm always buying mediums. Gary looks like he is trying not to have a big sh-- eating grin on his face. Thanks for sharing.
Okay, I have the best readers ever because the general consensus is I don't look FAT---and I am sure you ALL are smarter than *moi* so I'll take your word for it! LOL!!!
@ Janet and Carol~~I will remember the *tuck-in* rule! Makes me feel 2" smaller already! ;-D
@ Pam...omg, isn't it BAD ENOUGH we have to go to the Dr. without the WEIGH IN??? (and then they take BP, yeah....) We had a ball~~I may not be able to move today, but it was worth it!
@ Bunny and Audrey~~oh it is GOOD to be queen. *SNARF!* But it was good to have a whole day OUT. I can't say how long it's been.....
@ Gloria...you MUST look on YouTube for some of the Red Green clips from the show---words do NOT describe!!! The main player is duct tape....nuff said! :-D

Okay, continuing...LOL!
@ Kim~~yes, I am amazed at what happens when we become WOACA. Maybe not pleasantly amazed, but amazed none the less!!! And I would love to see that duct tape boat race... :-)
@ Debra~~it was tough deciding which piece of Red Green wisdom to put in the post, but the "Man's Prayer" is hilarious, and I make DH recite it whenever we watch! And the show, while being funny anywhere, *IS* definitely Canadian down home humor at it's best. (and DH has 3 or 4 Leafs sweaters....maybe if we buy enough they'll win the Cup....in our lifetime!
@ Jan, yes, we got to meet the man with the tape, the purveyor of male wisdom and he is very NICE and FUNNY. (lucky we were too as we read last evening this is his last tour of the States) It was a booksigning for his new book "How to do absolutely everything"---or something close to that. I have on my Detroit Red Wings necklace, and Gary was talking hockey even when the photo was being taken--in fact, they both were!!! Oh..the shirt is a recycled House of Blues. I was a plain shirt I found for $2 at Goodwill and I remade it into something that really looks like it would have come from the HOB.....BRIGHT!
And yes, Red has an infectious smile and *is* kinda cute! ;-)

you look pretty darn good ok! HAH!! i really dunno who Red Green is but i do love his name and his sense of humor :) so glad you and DH had the day to yourselves doing things you like :) that's life at its best!!
Oh girl, your not fat, you "full-figured." Now, I'm fat, dat's da truth, but like I've always said about snobby, narcissist, stupid ugly types, "I can lose weight, but stupid and ugly are forever!!"
I think I've seen that guy on PBS and who can forget a name like "Red Green??!" Very funny!! Take care, hope you're rested. I had to call it an early evening last night...did some gardening which consisted of taking a 20+lb. bag of soil, empty it into some pots, either replanted or seed planted, my herb garden, and about killed every nerve and muscle in my back, so this "green" thumb is out for the season, besides, I hate gardening...my poor aborist hubster loves me!! LOL
Loves ya,
G
Hey, i'm just lookin at your smile! I like that - woaca ;)As you say, we're all in this together!
I've just caught up with your paper tuts, where have I been?! I'll go back when I can keep my tired eyes open.
OMG! We do know who Red Green is, have laughed excessively and NOT tried any of his bright ideas. Although my favorite has to be having the entire lodgE members ingest 40 gallons of toxic lake water each to let it filter through their livers to clean up the lake!!!! Were you covered in duct tape by the end of that visit! You look happy and smiling in the pic and the Dh looks shell shocked...stars in his eyes. If Gary hasn't rented the two hour Red Green movie, he must, but will have a migraine just from laughing. I have now given my silly humor stance completely away!! xox Corrine
Loved your headline (and the picture is pretty cute too)! I won't waste any time telling you you're not fat -- that seems to have been well addressed in the previous comments. I'm a bit late on this, I know. A handy husband is the best! A very good friend of mine (who was happily married also), when she found out my husband was handy looked at him with what can only be described as LUST! I was really unsettled by that -- (I mean he's cute and all, but...) I never realized how valuable that was. But we're all still friends (and still married too), so it's ok.
love it..... and love Red Green...... saw some of his older shows the other day...still laugh-out-loud funny!
Yep, the old shows are still a hoot, even when you know all the punchlines!
As we do....LOL!!!
XXOO~~

Once again, I have a family member in serious envy. Red Green is a true favorite of the Hubby (and I'll admit to a chuckle or two, okay maybe three). But the Maple Leafs, say it ain't so. He can be forgiven for reliving his glory days. I know mine still retells the story of his roller hockey score that landed him in the hospital. If that had been an NHL goal, we'd never get the jersey off of him either (nor would I have been forgiven for not getting it on video).
I've never heard of Red Green (and I'm Canadian!) I'll check out the link later.
I'm a Boston Bruins girl so I won't even "go there!"
You look wonderful! The reason I only show my eyes on my blog is so no one can see how fat I am...truth!! Can someone please make a non-caloric white wine without sacrificing taste or buzz??? :P
I have to catch up on your paper tutorials. I'm lost these days but staying out of trouble!
Glad you and Sweet Pea liked the card. it had your name all over it ;)
xoxo
Lolo♥
And I thought you looked pretty good! That must have been a great time, and I know what you mean about getting out of the house!

Talk to me Dahling!
I'm waiting, breathless...... ;-D
