Something Pretty.....

.....while I get the photos finished up for the stamped paper tutorial.
Sorry folks, it's been an allergy-mess here after a local yokel set a fence row on fire and it's not burning; it's smoldering. And yes, the Blog Mistress is deathly allergic to smoke. (I'm living in *Deliverance*...I tell ya....)
So here is something lovely to occupy your eyes! :-)

The lush yellow of first buds....

Age and youth mingle....

The simple made sublime with sunlight....

Through veils of flowers, I see these skies....

I will hold you close to my heart forever and ever....

Spring has popped up overnight......enjoy.....

Anne - I love that last pic. Is that a magnolia? My mom had those in her yard in CA. There is a HUGE tree a couple of streets over. Gigantic. I should try and get a pic (the neighbors might think I am up to something! haha). Off to get caffeine. xoxo Pam

You were able to type before caffeine???
PAM!
I WORSHIP YOU!!!
Yes, that is a magnolia bud~~it was one of those lucky shots; light was right, somehow the bud was on this long twig that let it rest against the body of the tree...
I think you should get a photo of the big tree----keep them wondering. (it works for me!)
I love the Southern Saucer Magnolias....oh....talk about total SWOON.....I'm just hoping the tree makes it through this wind that started last evening...

Anne,
These shots are gorgeous. I'm so happy for you that Spring has finally decided to make an entrance there. Although, the smoke is not a welcome sight!
Oh goodness, I'm sure there are people in this valley that think I'm a stalker ~ I pull in driveways, in front of houses, just about anywhere for the sake of getting a photograph. It HAS to look like I'm taking photos of their houses or whatever. Oh, well. I'll do just about anything to get that picture. I know YOU understand. YES, Pam, go take a picture of that big tree!!!
Take care, Anne. Don't inhale. hahahaha

How lovely, Anne! I couldn't help but laugh at your "Deliverance" analogy. Just saw that movie again the other day on cable...was the first movie the ex and I went to see after we were married...was a sign I never saw coming till 25 years later!! LOL

Around here everything is so dry, the signs on the I-10 warn everyone of the potential of brush fires...for those idiots who don't have ashtrays or haven't cleaned them out, so they toss their "butts" out the window...nasty habit!!

Hope you feel better and that "maroon," loved that Bugs Bunny, puts the smoke out...should at least do something constructive with it, like smoke a possum or something for dinner!! LOLOLOL

Loves ya,
G

Hey Audrey,

I know exactly what you mean---there is a section along the road right next to some folks house; it always has little wildflowers and I always am waddling down there and kneeling in the ditch taking pics! LOL!!!
We are the great stalkers of the perfect photo fodder! ;-D

omg Georgina!!!

Now I'm laughing and wheezing!!!;-D Yeah, it scares me stiff when I take a walk and see all the cigarette butts along the roadside; people could care less if they set something on fire. Eventhough we have had a lot of rain, we have a lot of dead dry grass from Winter, and it will burn....
Yum...smoked possum.....NOT!!! HAHAHAHAHA! (you are a hoot!)

That second photo is just wonderful!

Thanks Janet!

I was so surprised to see that cluster of flowers on peeping out of the crusty bark on my weeping cherry---I'm afraid each year it may not come back.....

No dueling banjos allowed, I much prefer the Brubeck! LOL, is there a swamp in the back yard? Flower shots are gorgeous, is that an apple blossom in the old and new? Not quite here yet, we are down a hill and always the last to have that forsythia bloom, but it's trying and that's all I care about. Enjoy your weekend! xox Corrine

**swoons** DeLovely ♥♥♥ Fabulous shots, Anne. I love them all. I'm tired. TGIF and a half day at school. YIPPEE! Happy weekend my friend. **kisskiss** Deb

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Corrine,

That is my weeping cherry, though it always looks like an apple.....and it bloomed out literally overnight. By tomorrow, with the wind, the blossoms will be flying everywhere. I just grab the camera and RUN! (catch it while you can...)

Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos of spring. Spring? What's that? It is pure cold rain here. I had to laugh at Georginas comments. The first movie I saw with chainsaw man was Fargo. What do you suppose that portends? I hesitate to even think about it.......

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

omg Jan!!!

Hacking and laughing!!! I think that movie said it all....I am now trying to think what movie Gary and I saw together first; that must be in the *blocked* section of memory! LOL!!! (I'll have to ask him--he will remember no doubt)
Well, maybe I spoke too fast on Spring....the wind is now HOWLING, sun disappeared and has gotten colder, so back to the furnace...I give up! I just *dream* of the perfect Spring.....you too I bet! ;-D

Gorgeous spring photos, Anne, really lovely. So hope your smoke has gone and your allergies are given a break. Thanks for the paper tutorial, looks like a lot of fun. We've had great weather for weeks - until today when we are having a 3 year old's birthday party - so fingers crossed that the sun comes out. Carol xx

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh Carol, I hope the sun comes out for you!!! YIKES! (but isn't that always how it is???)
I still haven't gotten to the photos of the stamped paper~~day spent on the couch zonked from meds. I hope my readers have more patience than *I* do! <:-)

Beautiful shote Anne....(as always)....but I have to say, I am still laughing about your "Deliverance" comments! I saw that film (for the first time a few days back)....and wow...it was creepy!!!! Like another world.....but nothing that even resembles your gorgeous area! (Except for your neighbour....)

Thnak you for making me laugh - but most of all, thank you for your sublime photos...they ARE SPRING!

Hugs,

♥ Robin ♥

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh Robin....trust me......this rural area gets more like that daily. Sometimes as I leave my yard and wander down the road, I am absolutely SURE that I have been transported into the depths of the movie! LOL!!!
And the photos?

Hi Gaby!

Spring is welcome here too--Winter just went on forever. I am hoping to be able to get out and get some more photos of all the little wildflowers that jump up and bloom so quickly! It seems they never last long enough and I have to photograph everything very quickly!

Those photos are all great Anne. What kind of camera do you use?? Beautiful. I especially like the "Age and Youth Mingle." Probably because that's how I feel. So young in side but....well you know. Tee Hee. As for the tortillas, you don't need a press, just a roller, the flour, baking powder, dash salt, oil or lard and warm water. OR if you want to make it easier, at your grocers in the flour/sugar area, they now have flour that says "Prepared flour for flour tortillas." I've tried it and it's great, all you add is water and the motion of your hands are you are rolling out the tortillas. A one, a two. :DDD

I see you had some cool ideas that you shared. I love the stamp art. It´s clever and pretty.
Have a great week
