Easter Blessings.....

In a season of renewal,
For the earth,
For the heart,
For the soul...
May you be blessed
abundantly
And see the blessings
all about you.
Take them.
And cherish.
And give thanks.

Yes!
You are! (we all are!)
I lucked out with the first photo~~even though there were four stems, there were the *three* that were uncurled...it was a nice symbolism. :-)

I could get lost in these photographs, Anne. They are beautiful. There are so many simple things filled with beauty. Loving photography as we do, I think we are blessed to notice some of the things that are often overlooked.
I hope your Easter is beautiful and meaningful.

Hi Debra,

I think ferns at this stage are by far one of my favorite delights of Spring.....there is such a magic to them!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Audrey,

I shot 91 photos yesterday and culled it down to these as my favorites!
I think too that looking through the camera, we see things that most miss.
Maybe that is how it is to be!

Hi Luthien,

Hope you have a good weekend too~~and yes, I am always amazed (sometimes not pleasantly, LOL!) when I load the photos and see what is really there.
Always a difference between what *I* see and the camera, but usually it's good!

Thank you Anne, and I send the same blessing back to you. Your photos glow and I especially like the first two; wow, those fern fronds about to unfurl!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Terra,

Thank you~~I do love getting down at *flower-level* for the photos. (my body doesn't love it but oh well! LOL!)
I always, always try and photograph the ferns before they open, and you know how quick that happens at this time of year!

Oh those Fiddleheads! All of the photos are breathtaking. Looking through the clear water reminded me of a mosaic. Thanks for sharing!

As a fairly new friend, I count you among my many blessings ;)

Happy Easter to you and DH~

Hey Lolo!

I am thankful I met you too!
I stalk fiddle heads...what can I say? Those and the Dutchman's Breeches, oh, I love those little things!
The clear water was one of those "what the heck" shots~~I had no idea it would turn out so cool!

Hi Anne! I love that picture of the fern. Wouldn't you love to do time lapse on some of these? I've been watching the trees get fuller and greener every day - yay!! :) Happy Easter to you and Gary! xox Pam

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Yes~~I would! I still remember those Disney films of seeds sprouting and growing, flowers blooming....oh! I would love to do that with the ferns!
Our trees here are showing blushes of color; it is like a paintbrush has just touched the tips lightly! But they will suddenly be green...overnight.

Beautiful photography and peace be with you friend. Spending the day with family on Sunday, always a wild time of good food, really good conversation and hilarity (and a little shouting) over the antics of the four large dogs at play (of course all of us bring our dogs).
hugs,
Christine

Oh boy Christine!

It sounds like Sunday will be a good time! Hope y'all have good weather and plenty of food.... ;-D
Thanks on the photos; it was a lucky shooting day!

Absolutely lovely photos Anne! Thanks for the lovely reminder of your poem, too. I have much to be thankful for and to cherish. You are one of those things!

Happy Easter, Anne. Thank you for the wonderful photos of your unfurling spring time, especially the fern. I take lots of photos of fern fronds. What is that beautiful flower in the second last photo, the one above the magnolias?

Spectacular fiddleheads and wake robins and the like. Something about the wild plants that suits you, that's for sure. xox Corrine

Hi Jan!

I am thankful for all the years we have been friends~~one of the excellent aspects of the internet!
Do enjoy the trees and yard coming to life; it's been a long winter and we all need it!

Hi Carol!

The flower you asked about is Blood Root. It is in the sanguinaria family; I think some of the root section used to be used in toothpastes of one form or another. (long ago) And yes, if you cut the roots, the fluid is orangish-red! (they don't last long and I love them so...)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Corrine!

Yes, I absolutely love getting out and photographing wild flowers. There are not as many as there used to be; we are losing our roadside plants and wooded land at an alarming rate. So I save images....they are delicate and exotic. I often wonder if people even SEE them!
Have a great weekend!

Happy Easter dear Anne - I had to pop in quickly to say that. Sorry I've been 'on the quiet' lately - but you know why, and you also know I'll be back in full voice soon (I hope!). In the meantime, I'm still reading (and enjoying) your posts. Hugs!

I am late on here; early to church then home, and cooking and then the EATING! (of course that meant dirty dishes, but this was worth it!)
Hope all y'all had a wonderful day!!!

these photos are gorgeous. i love the way fiddleheads unfurl. i have ferns that open like that and for me seeing that is a special rite of spring in my yard.

the windy twigs reflected in the water are stunning, anne. you must have had a great time 'seeing' and snapping away.
