Queen of the Setting Sun

Yesterday evening I grabbed a few minutes to waddle about the yard a bit and see what I could be creative with in my presently *confined quarters*. I have a large area at the back of the lot I have chosen not to mow; some due to fuel prices but mostly because I live in the country and enjoy seeing what comes up.
The Queen Anne's Lace was exceptional this year, and even now, dried, in seedheads, the plant is a delight.
This is another of my captured on the fly with fingers crossed, shooting into the sun, photos!
I love it.
I am guessing that maybe this is becoming my signature style; break the rules, shoot with abandon, hold your breath and hope one turns out!
I should have waited to share this with some of the other shots of the evening, but I think it deserves a post of it's own.......click gently, it should enlarge. ;-)

These are one of my favorite flowers. They are beautiful in bloom, and beautiful as they go to seed. Win, win. :) Lovely pic, my dear! xox!

Hey Pam,

Did you ever cut them and put food coloring in the water, watching them change color as the water was absorbed? I remember that as a kid--we'd have a couple different jars with the colored water.
Way fun!

I've not had much luck shooting into the sun ~ I've tried a few times, but wasn't happy with the results. You have the "touch", Anne. Great shot!
I love QA Lace - the empty lot across from us was filled with it and I was enjoying the beauty until they came along and mowed it all down. ):
Have a beautiful day!

Don't worry Audrey---mowing it will make it come backwith a vengence next year! LOL!!! Apropo justice for cutting it!
I wish I could describe how I do the shots.....let me think about it and then if I can figure it out in words, will e-mail.

Hi Anne, how good you are getting out to your yard again, and taking such a good photo, in to the sun. Well done.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Terra,

And I did it without hurting myself! LOL!!
I am being very careful where I step now.....which makes getting the photos a little more difficult, but worth it. Have a good one!

I adore Queen Anne's Lace. I love the early green pods that hold the promise of white lace, and I love the end of the season pods after they've put on their summer show.

This is another beauty Anne! Or should I say Queen Anne?

And yes, those acorn earrings! I thought you'd like them ;)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Lolo,

My poor dad was so allergic to it, but still would let me bring in bunches!
It is amazing how quickly it all bloomed out, then dried and now, brown and fragile.
I'll have to grab a few more frames before it is all gone....
