A quick note......

Sorry folks, no fancy new pics today. I am hammering out a quick peep before starting another day of banner sewing. The rearrange for being able to have a workstation where I can stand has been most helpful. Yesterday was spent, for the most part, sewing myriad beads onto eight large tassles and trying to keep the sewing thread out of the tassle fringe.
Not fun!
None the less, they are progressing nicely. Today will be spent standing at the machine and pinning on yards and yards of rope trim.....trying my best to eyeball all of it and get it straight. This is not fun work, more trying to get in the groove and just do it right.
In fact, if I am scarce on here, and about your blogs, for the next few days, this is what I am engaged in. I want to get these done and sometimes I have to strike while the humor is there. It is fleeting on any project that has gone on this long. I am a "do it before you lose the enthusiasm" person...I swear I have ADD.
I have spent too many late nights with the Olympics, and seeing the cauldron extinguished was a bittersweet moment. I'll say it right here, in front of blogland and the world--- I LOVE CANADA! I loved the country far before the Olympics but delighted in seeing daily what the host nation provided. I cheered their women's hockey team, and the men's as well in the nail-biter that I was sure would end in a gold medal for the U.S. And I am far too old to sit up late watching all the events......for my own health, it's probably a good thing the games of 2010 are over. But how amazing they were!
So for anyone who had an e-mail *ignored*, a blog that was not visited, something I should have replied to and forgot.......I apologize. It's just going to be a blur here for a bit.
As a quirky aside: My therapist for P.T.? He and his wife are from Montreal.......is there some odd synchronicity in this world or what? So at least we can talk hockey while I am being twisted and tugged and pulled back into shape!!! LOL!!! And yes, it is working already--I can walk better. So exercise time has to be fit into the already semi-full daily schedule.
Now I am off, red maple leafs still floating in my memories, ready to tackle a daunting sewing job, and before you ask......of course I know all the lyrics to "Oh Canada"........what respectable Hockey fan wouldn't?     ;-)
Have a great week and may the work you do be a gold medal in the hearts of others!

Pax.

Great post! The Olympics were wonderful - I got sucked in the last week - I normally despise US coverage - and it was somewhat better than past years. I do miss Canadian TV, because they celebrate everything!! Take care of yourself!!

Mornin'!
I will admit I have been struggling for something to write in my blog as winter has finally claimed my creativity. I am at a point where I would just like to stay in bed all day with My Boyz & nap & read & watch mindless nothing on TV......
So on that note..... Good Luck in working on your banners. Before you know it they will be a memory.
Take Care.....
Love,
Marilyn

Hey Marilyn,

I think we all need a wek in bed and then a week of sunny warm weather.
Half my e-mails are being thrown back--I am at the point if someone does not have a blog, I can't reply.
I am NOT a happy camper, to say the least.
Grump, grump, grump.......

Hi Anne Yes the Hockey game was sure an exercise for the heart. Oh my we were so on edge. Both teams played outstanding but I am happy the Canadians won here in our Country. All the athletes were just amazing. Happy working in your studio.

Maybe it is the bloggers we have come to love from Canada. I always felt a soft spot for Canada in my heart, but most competitions I rooted for the US except for the Hockey. It just had to go to Canada. The closing ceremonies were fabulous too. I was impressed by Russia, for some reason I find hard to say. Blessings

Hi QMM,

I think because the Russian part of the ceremony was so like the glory days of the USSR; not the mess the country fell into but the regal, strong, artistic to a *T* perfectionism that we used to associate with them. The strong, stoic Russians of old.
I wish them all the luck in the world with the next Olympics, and hope it will help their economy and benefit the locals.

Hi Deena,

I cannot imagine trying to do any of this on dial up---have an e-mail I owe you, and it's marked with a red flag too!
I don't know that I am organized or faster; I just am not tripping over things and am able to stand and work with less pain....which is GOOD!!!
Will try and write later; my e-mails are all bouncing back.....
