Hints Of Spring

The remaining snow, like diamonds,
strewn carelessly across the wintered umber
ground....
A bit of chartreuse-promise
pushing them aside...

....One brave soul peering out,
his nest of leaves gently thrust back
for golden warmth....

....And friends joining the celebration;
pure delight in small delicate petals.
A Winter too long in passing.
A Spring so anxiously awaited.
The miniscule of the soil
bringing massive joy to the heart.
Bliss.....
the soul soars!

Pax.

Hi Chickory!

Thanks for stopping by and the kind words on the post.
I wish I could remember more Latin from my younger days; got a book, but still, it is not coming back until I look up a phrase. :)

Hi Di!

I keep searching for more little peeps of green in the garden....too soon, I think! ;)
But I'm hopeful!

I haven't found anything that green, yet! Lots of mud around here.

Vicki, you would not BELIVE what me shoes looked like when I came in.....they're sitting in the garage, drying, and then I'll hit them with a stiff bristle brush and wet rag..... >:{

Oh, Anne! You're ahead of us! Although I swear I see some bulb tips peeking out near our weeping cherry tree. I will go out later and investigate. I am so happy to see Spring this year. It's been a tough Winter. xoxoxoxox Pam

I'm almost afraid to look for signs of Spring, those dreaded Spring blizzards are lurking just waiting to pounce on us as soon as we start celebrating. So I'm just going to whisper, whoo hoo Spring is coming.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

You said it Pam! Tough in every possible way.
I was looking at the tips of the lilac, and they were starting to swell a tiny bit, a slight change from winter brown to that pinkish that comes before green.
But this is Indiana and we'll probably get a freeze yet! ACK!!! Crossing my fingers and eyes....LOL!
HAve a good one....♥♥♥

Hey Christine,

LOL!!! Same here! Like I said, I probably jinxed everything by making this post.
I remember Easter's when I was dressed in winter coat and boots, slogging through the snow..... ;)

Thee are eggcellent images. Pray tell me how did you capture them? Ahem? Where you crouching down there in the snow?

Well that may be good heart eggcercise but dangerous for you a bit, isn't it?

Why am I acting like a mommy today?

TSUP! I am working nights starting tonight!

Be good and be safe.

Such a beautiful expression of words and a beautiful touch of Spring. Hope our day today is as pretty. :)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Ces!!!

Thank you Mom! But the PT is working very well, although I still suspect they are trying to bend me into a pretzel! In fact, they have me moving in ways I wasn't sure I could.....
I did not have to bend that much....just took a large sized image and cropped...okay??? :)
Hope you're doing well....♥♥♥

P.S. yes, I was in the snow/mud.

Hi Bunny!

Thanks--I was so excited to see those little guys poke through all the cold and frozen leaves....been watching for a week. We had two days of *warmer* weather (it's all relative!) and that was enough to bring them up.
I wish I had a field of snow drops....

I noticed a few snowdrops poking through this morning, too!!! Is it possible - could it be - might it be true - winter is slowly going away?!

It's a miracle.

(even though, here, they're forecasting snow for later in the week. dammit)

What a glorious sight!!!
Thank you for this little glimpse of things to come. Oh, Spring, we are all ready!!!

Everyone should have a few snowdrops planted in their yard so they will know when spring really is sneaking in. These are so lovely, they look like such delicate flowers and yet they must be so very hardy and tough to be the first to break through. Thanks for this post and your lovely words.
I remember in the old days (a year ago) I occasionally got to leave the first comment of the day. Not anymore....

Oh Anne, fantastic shots!!! **gasps, but carefully after the wine incident up the nose with Tristan** Simply Springalicious!

Anne, I'm sending you one of those alarms to wear around your neck, HELP, I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP. Just buzz me baby!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Tristan,

No doubt we'll have another go at winter; this is too good to last!
And I can tell you when it will occur----right when my magnolia or wisteria is ready to burst into full bloom! LOL!!!
Almost every year.....

Hey Audrey,

I think everyone is more ready for this Spring than many years past I can count.
Even with the snowdrops in bloom, I noticed one pond still frozen over as I went to run an errand....

Hey Jan,

Well, I guess we're all getting up earlier to get our blog-fix for the day? LOL!!!
I have actually had to adjust my wake up time to deal with the computer and e-mail, etc.....
I think something is awry, yes?

Anne....who wants fields of snowdrops......

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Thanks Mary Helen. It seems I have been so caught up in work I have had to force myself to take breaks to breathe and see what is going on outside.
Sometimes it is too easy to hole up in here, and then run to the house and hole up in there, trying to catch up.
because I have discovered....I NEVER CATCH UP! LOL!!!

I can understand why you are looking sooo forward to Spring...need to send you pics of the blooming non-bearing pear trees across the street...they just burst into little flowers everywhere!!!

Can't wait to start my herb garden too...still use the dried ones, but I like the idea of growing my own herbs..such a krone thing to do!! Actually, my Italian parsley is still out there and my Greek oregano...hardy little boogers!!

Love ya,
G

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Georgina!

I miss having fresh Italian Parsley and Basils.....used to always grow those, and rosemary...hmmmmm.....can't remember what else. But the GD chipmunks have made it impossible to keep plants in the ground! Between them and the racoons, well, I don't garden!
Yes, I would love to see the bradford pears in bloom! They are so lovely!
Back to the grrrrrrind....work!
Take care...

Golly! Look what's peaking through! The robins and blue birds are flying like crazy and I think getting ready to head north! Guess they must all know that spring is coming!! We're actually starting to get our warm weather here in Florida!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

You tell those birds to stay down there! It's still nasty and chilly here--rain predicted for all but one day this week.
I think I need to migrate to Florida! LOL!!

Will have to go scout about today and see if anything else got brave and popped up......

Hey Vanessa!

Well, I may have spoken too soon...it's Indiana and you grab shots like these in those moments between nasty weather changes! LOL!!!
I eyed those buds for DAYS.....going to get the mail....they stayed the same for a week. I'll have to check today to see if they opened more.
We had rain, and have more coming for the rest of the week....bleah!
