A Sneak Peek......

(click to enlarge and see the exquisite color combo better!!!)

...At what I have had the delight to be working with. Notice I did not say I made this piece...it is a collaberation. I never would have gotten this sewn, as I discovered doing basic functions like serging and then a very few seams on the big sewing machine.
But what this will become (and it is in process enough that I can mentally see it and am excited!) will be beautiful and I do get to post the finished photos here!!! YAY!!!
I also discoveed over the weekend that while the BRAIN thinks we can hop right back in and work the hours we did pre-surgery, the BODY has some other ideas that annoy me...like, no, we art NOT. So I am having to pace myself on something that would have otherwise been done and ready for shipment. My frustration level with this (me=slow) is through the roof but I keep talking to self and reminding self it has just been over one month since magor surgery and we still can't fit into our satin tights and grab that golden lasso and starred headdress.......
Hmmmmph!
Anyway, I feel blessed and delighted I was entrusted with this job, and when it is done, and I tell the full story, you'll know why!
So I am off to work; early is better. I'm too comatose to know if anything reeeeeeeally hurts! LOL!!! (usually not in the a.m.)
And for about ten minutes I tinkered with the Paperclay pieces I cut out, before I completely gave out and headed for the chair and rest. They have paint--look nice. That was easy and fun.
Till later.....I hope everyone has a great creative week and that your ideas exceed your time, but keep a sketchbook handy!
I bid you.....

Pax.

Hope things go well today; keep me posted.
Yes, I love the quiet of the very early morning, especially when I am coherent enough to WORK then!!! LOL!!! I used to be more of a morning person, but age has had a factor on that! Be up at the crack of dawn working then have the whole day for other stuff. NOT NOW!
Need my beauty sleep.....like that helps! HA!
Take care!!!

Take care...don't push...it was MAJOR surgery!!!! Your body will catch up with your mind or is it the otherway around?? :)

don't push yourself!

It took a lot of time to do that piece! I am interested to see what will be done. Surgery is always a bummer for the body even though we know we need to rest there are so many things calling us!!
Take Care!

Anne, I took a tour of your studio and found the list of art blogs to visit. You have a great place. I have a studio upstairs, but since knee surgery rather just stay downstairs. I think I told you I ordered some note cards. I love the bright colors. I had my G mother's oak clawfoot table too and finally give it to one of my nieces. Hope you have a great week.

Morning, Anne! Has it been a month already? YIKES! Where did the time go? I'm sure you felt each and every minute, but it woooshed by me. :) Be GOOD, as in no trotting outside to take bird pictures. No sitting at your table for 5 hours. :)) In a few weeks, you will be back to your marathon self, and the world had better watch out!! xox Pam

Robbie, at my house I'm not sure where I left my mind, so I am hoping the body will just FIND it! LOL!!
Actually, I am pacing myself; it just irks me! <:)

Hi QMM,

Yes, that studio tour is the basement wet studio, where I have everything dragged up from! (Which means it must all go back DOWN...)
The sewing studio is just a disaster now, and I refuse to post photos of it!
Hope the cards meet with your expectations, and thanks for the order!

That stitching is gorgeous...love the way the colours just meld into one another...reminds me of a colour scale.

Actually got a lot done during the weekend. Finished my Plus clay busts and hope they don't crack away since it's very dry here. Have them under plastic and gradually opening up the bags to let air in...this is going to take a while...I'm getting antsy...want to start having the real fun!!!

Take care and have a creative week...today is Miss Daisy's day so who knows where she decided to take me...oey vey....no please, not Walmart!!! {:-0 nooooooo!!

Love ya,

Hey Pam,

Yeah, I was so surprised when I looked at the dat and discovered it had been a MONTH already--Dec. 16th was the day--actually tomorrow it was a month that I was released, and I have to admit, it has flown. Which is odd because you wouldn't think recovery time would go that fast.....
I'm almost at the sewing point that everything else is hand work sitting, and when I need breaks I hop on here or piddle with the hearts on the table....so I'm moving and NOT STANDING for marathon work sessions! I am being as good as I can..... ;)
Yes, then look out world when I can drive again! WHOOO-HOOOOO!!!!
HA!

Oh.....All that color!! I love it! Very eager to see more and hear the story.
There are days when the brain says "YES" and the body says "NO" ~ even if there is no surgery involved!
Be careful, Anne.

Georgina.....LOL!!!!! Can you tell her WalMart is closed today???? National Holiday??? Anything?
Hope the clay does well; I am having the opposite problem with the gel medium NOT drying here since it is so damp out, even with the furnace and dehumidifier. We both need a little of what the other has.
Be thinking of you today......and watching the news for any WalMArt incidents in your neck of the woods! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Hi Audrey,

Oh, that is so true. And I find as I get OLDER, I am having more and more of those days and I get so little done.....frustrating!
At least now I have an excuse! LOL!!!
HAve a good one---you'll love the results of the piece!

I see's me a quilt in the making. I've been wanting to do one of these for quite a while now and just have not gotten to the point. One day though, I will conquer it. Looks wonderful. can't wait.

Now you take it easy. I'd hate to have to hear you've been put on bed rest longer for not having done it gently to begin with. I swear I can hear me in your words. I'm the same way ... after 21 surgeries, I still argue with the "voice". :-0)

Hugs
Tammy

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Ah, Tammy, not a quilt! Thought I have always wanted to do a bargello for myself, but now that we finally have a king size bed......maaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy-be NOT!
I could live with a nic elap quilt though.
Did a set of banners for church using the bargello technique and they were gorgeous!

I love the bright colors in this quilt...bargello makes me want to get up and do a tango with gusto! The month has flown but your body still needs you to calm down inside and out to heal in the energy of white light. I have got to get some paper clay to play with...sprinkle with tiny tiny glitter...oh so much fun! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

p.s. Is Tristan as playful as he seems?

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey girls....sorry I missed these comments---the e-mail issue and I gave out yesterday and went to sleep for quite a while!
And yes Mary-Helen, Tristan is just as he seems---a LOT of fun!!!!
I'm off to work now, while I have a bit of energy left...LOL!!! At 8:53 a.m. I say that...frightening!
