Winter Color

As everyone else is posting beautiful photos of snow, all I can offer is the brilliance of a winter sunrise, ruddy and glowing through the bare branches of the trees. No snow to cover the soil and mud, only frost covering the farmland south of our acre. Awaiting the beauty of winter can be most difficult for me! I have no patience......I want the clean white and glistening magic of the dark months, the wind whipping snowflakes past like a snowglobe being shaken by a child.
But, I wait.......

Pax.

Beautiful photo, Anne.
I have a good feeling that you will be getting snow ~ from what I am reading, I think there is going to be a little more snow than usual everywhere...
Our snow has just about disappeared already. There is just a dusting on the ground ~ some of the mountains are still white. Before the winter's end, I want one of those BIG snowstorms that completely covers the ground for days!!!!
(:

Hey Audrey!!! I loved your pics!!!
I was on break for church service on the web as I did not feel like the drive today. It is so great to be able to be part of the service even when you're under the weather....
And yes, I'm hoping some of YOUR snow will come visit me too... :) The fluffy, type that just falls and falls until everything is sparkling...

Good Morning!
Got up late this a.m. (7:30), Well, late for me. Anywho.... We got about 3" of snow & the sun is out & it is rather blinding! As I sit in the sunroom it truly is that....sunny!! Hope you get your snow soon.....
Have a Restful Day!!

I miss snow - the light quiet fluffy kind that just gently tumbles down in the dark. One winter in Vermont I caught a full moon through the snow - kind of like a rainbow out here in the desert when it is still pouring rain. The first snow to cover everything so pristinely, so delicately - a tiny branch outlined in white. When I retire...I will experience these again!

Have a great day, Anne!

Hey Marilyn!
Yes, that is late for you!!
Truly, snow-blind is something that is not fun...as I have learnded from shoveling the drive many times.
I guess we just want enough for *pretty* but not *inconventient*??? LOL!!
Enjoy!

Hey Linda,

I know exactly the type you mean; when it is so quiet at night and you look out and everything is turning white. There is a particular quiet that comes with that type of snow....beautiful!
Have a good one!!!

Thanks for the words on the pic---was out in jammies and farm boots shooting a series of the sun coming up; froze myself solid. ABSOLUTELY SOLID.

Great photo, Anne! I'm with you... anxiously awaiting our first measureable snow. It's predicted to arrive here late Tuesday. With any luck, it will head your way when it leaves here, with enough magic still in it to delight!

It will probably come in late Monday nite since I have an early a.m. Dr. Appt on Tuesday! LOL!!!

Hey Bill,

Thanks! Actually, believe it or not, it was a sunrise here this morning...and yes, it has all the sunset colors! Not tinkered with--that was what was in the lens!

I'm with Tristan! If I could send you all our snow (except for enough to have a white Christmas) I would. I hate winter, unless I'm on the inside looking out (even better, if I'm in my studio in the basement and don't have to see it at all!). Sorry - I know I'm in the minority.

Snow or no snow, it is STILL a beautiful photo and I envy that incredible view you get every morning.

Miss you and hope you are doing well. Hugs!

Hey Pam,

Aren't we all late on EVERYTHING???? I think we should start a *Late-as-hell* club for the month of December. I am thinking we'd have lots of members but no dues; we're all broke!
Lucky you...snow....I give up. Probably when I am in the hospital...... >:(
