My Wish Come True.......(and another Welcome!)

....this past Saturday I was released from the hospital, walking good (but VERY SLOOOOOOW), had a wonderful drive home with DH in the snowfall, a quick stop for burgers and finally, home for the Holidays!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers; I cannot begin to say thanks individually because I know I would miss someone, but when I opened my e-mailbox and watched the overflow of messages, from individuals, from FB posts, the mail on the table when I got in the kitchen....it was truly overwhelming.
Now I have to brag a bit on the facility I was at, due to the *vault-of-horror* experience I went through earlier in the year at "Brand-X Hospital".
The  proceedure was done at Orthopaedics North East on the Parkview North Campus in Fort Wayne. (my surgeon was Dr. Harris, who has officially earned the Anne-Lockard-Says-YOU-ROCK!-Award) I have never in my life had the pleasure of meeting so many fine, well educated, caring people--a professionally run organization, but individual care and concern, from the cleaning staff and dietary, thru the Chaplains and MAs right up to each and every RN and Doctor/Surgeon....to my favorites, Physical and Occupational Therapy. (simply because they, ultimately, were the ones who gave me the mobility and dressing skills to come home and torment my gentle readers again! LOL!) So a stay for a major surgery was as pleasant as it could possibly be......Yeah, that sounds odd but it is true.
As to my computer time? Limited. I need to be mobile as much as possible and do my exercises. That's cool. We all have things to do right now and DH is not--I repeat--NOT going to let me out in the snow with the camera balanced on the walker.......ahem......There are many things I will have to relearn mobility wise and work wise, and that is for a bit later so no studio and frankly, I'm not even sure if I can figure out properly sitting to do ATCs. That's cool.

The best thing yet, the biggest present (and why the surgeon rocks):

I am back to a 34" inseam on both legs!!!! My surgeon was able to get the right leg back to what it was before the Abomnible Dr. Phibes worked on me, so I literally am learning to rebalance, etc. But I am soooo happy!!!! (okay, I never was too well balanced in the first place but we won't discuss that since it had nothing to do with the leg...SNARF!)
That's it Kiddies; comments are ON, I may not be able to reply to each but they will all be read and, dang, there is no place like Blog for the Holidays!!!! <:-)
I am so blessed and I wish the same for all of you, and of course......

Pax.

P.S. Welcome to wackysaks.....and I apologize for this being at the bottom, but I still have *hospital-head* and had to do it while the thought was in the brain........before it completely dribbled out.....and I love your bags!

Hi All!!

So glad to be back and *chat*! Don't worry, it was only the leg that got straightened...not my warped sense of humor! LOL! You've not escaped that! It's still intact, VERY intact!
I even picked up a new follower and forgot to post a welcome on that....the brain is still at half mast, but otherwise, okay.
Anyway, personal replies when I can! Have missed y'all and blogging!!!

XXOO!!! (((HUGS!!!)))

Good to know you are doing so well. Keep up the exercises.

I could tell you how fasten that camera to the walker, but I don't want your DH hunting me down!

Hi Anne,
Sooo glad to see you home and on the hop for Christmas.

Now, don't go overdoing it and please refrain from taking your camera out in the snow.
I'm sure DH wont mind taking a picture or two for you!

Always great to read your humerous blog posts.
I hope the hospital staff are also reading your great post!

Merry Christmas with lots of remedial excercises.
Hugs,
Anna

So glad that your hospital experience was superior to your previous trial! I know that I'm always so glad that my doctors use the first rate hospital here in New Haven, and not the Yale School Hospital, which isn't as pleasant to stay.

NOw, don't push it! Do just as much as the doctor orders - no more, no less!!!! Or I'll have to come all the way to Peru and speak sharply to you!

Lots of welcome home hugs from me.

Hooray! Glad to hear everything went well and that you're home and recuperating nicely. We certainly did miss you while you were gone, but somehow I suspect you brightened the hospital and that's a good thing for them. Take care of you and Merry Christmas!

Wings of white light are flying to you as you regain your strength with your new body parts! Have a very merry Christmas with DH and know there will always be more pictures to take. Try you hand at small soft sketches and simple quiet words to express your appreciation for the beauty in the world that artists recognize while the rest of the world walks right on by without a notice or pause in appreciation. I am so happy you are home dear friend. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
