50 Years Ago.....

.....here I was....in all my glory. Fat, happy, naked and wet.
Hmmmmmm.....most of that remains the same except I can no longer fit in the sink for a bath and I think the hair is a little different color-wise!
A half a century and the best I can produce in words are comments on a baby picture.... sigh

Fact: I was born in Vicenza Italy but this was taken at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky--our second station.
Fact: I was born with beautiful black hair that was curly and then something went awry. Waaaaaay wrong.
Fact: Dad thought mother's contractions were *a stomach ache from eating pork chops for dinner*......he didn't want to get up! LOL!! That was Dad!
Fact: I was born at some ungodly hour of the morning and that is perhaps why I have an aversion to early hours, even now.
Fact: 9 lb. 12 oz.  Told you I was fat!
Fact: 50 years later....it doesn't seem that all that time has flown by. Gone. Can't be recaptured.

Life is short, to be savored and used well. Don't put off things you can do and enjoy; make the most of it.
It's all Geritol and Depends from here!!!! (well actually, it was a similar version, vitamin fortified formula and diapers, when the photo was taken, come to think of it! LOL!)

Have a good one Kiddies! Hopefully I'll be back with something artsy tomorrow......but I couldn't resist this! ;-) Fifty only comes once and I just love to find some humor in my milestones!!!

You were a beautiful baby, you have such a mischievous expression, same as you have now, half a century later. (ha ha, had to get that half century dig in) I hope you are feeling better today so you can enjoy your day, even if it is only lounging. I don't think you do enough of that. Happy Happy Birthday, Anne. I hope you will stick around for another 50 healthy years.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Jan,

I have on the beautiful bracelet you sent me...yes, it's on with the lounging/snoozing clothes, but I decided I'm wearing it no matter what!
This half-a-centarian (HAHA! back atch!) is just being a slug and enjoying it, well, between coughing fits.
And yes, I'm still full of it....>:)
And I intend to remain that way!
Thanks, thanks!!!!

Hi Anna,

I always wished I could have gone back as an adult; when we were in Germany we went--Rimini, Venice, a couple of other places....it was like living a couple of weeks in a dream.
I don't know what it is like now, but the photos Dad took are how I remember it....absolutely like an enchanted land.
Thanks for the wishes!!

You know what? Although I joke about it, I think hitting 50 it like shedding all the fancy wrappers and going straight for the good stuff!
Look out world! Here I come with me red walker! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
(Yes, I do have a bright red one that will be employed after the hip is inserted....shiney.....I think I'll hang my Misfits backpack off it to scare everyone!!!)

Sweet wishes for a great birthday. You were just too cute. Something about the old B/W that I just miss and love.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your Black Ice Story. No B.I. story ever ends well. Once, to take a tumble on this you will never step outside in the snow the same again.

Still trying to catch up on all I've been missing. Heading to read some of you pass posts.

Holiday Cheers.
