.....for all the kind comments and urging on of friends during the long project and my fits of pique. I deliver the banners Monday morning, weather permitting so Tuesday---hopefully!!---I will have photos to post of this major accomplishment! I am excited and in fear; they go hand in hand on a delivery.
Today, this simple morning, seems quite odd, sitting here enjoying coffee and I am not sure what I am doing today! I seriously am considering dragging out the needle felting machine (I've had it well over a year and used it once to make sure it worked...), a pattern for slippers I have owned for two years at least and a lovely sweater I felted that Linda at Marbled Musings sent me a while back. An old collegiate sweater, in the days of well constructed wool knits, it felted down nicely and that would be something different and fun. I have a basket of fibers, wools and novelties, some left from knitting, some from fiber art, and I am thinking there could be the makings of something interesting, gaudy and warm! Who me? Gaudy? LOL!!!! Oh yeah.......
Of course, there are the ATC blanks I purchased that I could drag into the house to work on....they couldn't be too messy......and I would have to print some of my photos for that.
If it's sunny today, and believe me, right now there is no way of telling, I saw an area as I was driving home from the errand run that looked like it would yield some good photos---that's a possibility. Remnants of an old building and lots of bushes laden with red berries...the leaves gone on some. Quite the thing for a holiday pic.
It just is ODD to go from full throttle to an almost dead stop. At least for me.
Of course, there is that BOX of yarn tucked in the laundry room calling my name.......now that the *almost stockings* made it to real stockings and are off the needles, I could start the lovely Fair Isle scarf that I would like to wear this winter......
Or I could decend to the wet studio and not surface until it was time to deliver the banners on Monday. Hmmmmm....
Decisions, decisions.......
I can't complain because it is enjoyable to have a little down time to try and pick what, out of many projects, to start next! ;-)
Whatever you do today, have fun. Enjoy the day and don't let it pass---there is too much to see and do and just not enough time! Make use of every moment!
Pax.

Let me tell you Lady bug how you blessed me this morning! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing those comments with me this morning. Oh I come to your blog and look at your work, read your post and listen to coolest music. It tell you it's wonderful. No kidding, one day last week I was on the phone and a friend call while I was on your blog and I had the thing turned up so loud, she asked, " Who's that playing in the background?" I told her that I was one of the coolest Jazziest blogs around. You might now be able to play like you want, but don't ever stop listening or sharing Anne! Your such a bright hilarious spot in my world for sure he he he! I send you many hugs and best wish for a wonderful holiday!! Smooches girly!!!
Ah, so funny!!! Yes, I;ve noticed on the few I go too, not too many have jazz, and finding the tracks is not easy. I need to take a day and dig up a few more to put on there.
That won't scare the regular reading public or occasional browser away! LOL!!!!
Have a great holiday!

Isn't it funny.....the days we so look forward to are the days where we can do any thing our little hearts desire....ah but how to decide.....so many choices and just not enough hours in the day.
Hmmm maybe clones is the answer
Have a blast, whatever you choose.
You're absolutely right! I'm still in a dither, so I am picking up needles and thread and putting things away!
NOT at ALL what I thought I would be doing! LOL!
Maybe the fun will come *later*....after I am bored with organizing. (and yes, this happens every time I finish something large......)

Enjoy the down-time. You deserve it.... Dig out an old movie & just relax!!
Can't wait to see the pics of the finished projects!!
Love,
Marilyn
The "collegiate" sweater is actually older than that! It was bought when I started as a 9th grader (1962), because that's what you did to be "in." So you are working with vintage wool! I am so glad the sweater will have new life again - it took a long time to part with it. I would be curious to see a pic of how it went from sweater to felt!
have a fabulous weekend and enjoy whatever you end up doing!
Hey Marilyn!
My first *down time* project is cleaning out the bird cages, then back here to work with the felting machine!
Poop, then pleasure! LOL!!!
The Boyz are NOT going to be happy...... <:)

Hey Linda,
I will shoot a pic of the sweater before it is cut. It killed me to have to felt it, but dang, it's nice.
When I was in high school the in thing was dressing in clothes that were so awful we should have been arrested. Oy. Painful to remember!!!
Thanks again for the wool----it will get good use!

Hey Marianne, other than the cage cleanings, I intend to thoroughly enjoy the whole weekend!!! WHOOOO-HOOOO!!!!

I love those moments...time to just "be." What ever you decide to do, I know you'll go with all that creative energy and love every minute of it. Hell, you deserve it!!!!
I'm finally doing something in the studio. I'm painting a little Mexican wooden chair for my sweet little Aiden, my stepdaughter's son. I have a couple of ones I made some years back in my living room and the little ones know to take out their place mats and their chairs when it comes down to a meal. He always loved the red chair and always picked it out for himself, so I'm making his own little chair. I'm also going to work on my other grandson, Ryan, Under Dog cape. When he was in town this last time, I took him to Hobby Lobby to pick out the fabric. The Austin crew asked me to make them monster ornies, so that's another project. I plan on being very busy the next few days. DH is going to Houston to visit his oldest son and grands, so I'll be here at home alone...lovely!! I always get a lot done during Thanksgiving week. When I was still in school, I used the time to spend in the studio at school, doing last min. end of semester projects and/or reading and writing research papers or essays or studying for finals, so I got used to the pace, but now it's MY time!!
Ok, I've yacked enough. Have a great weekend and do what YOU want. Get some of that take out "pig" we've discussed in past blogs...remember to wear your red stilettos!!! LOL
Love ya,
G
Hey Georgina,
Glad to hear you're in the studio!!! The red chair sounds fab---I bet they are the coolest little things!
I dug out the felting machine and CANNOT find the book on it. I wonder if Janome has it on line.....so far, one wiggly strip of yarn put on, but a few problems, so I think I am *missing* something. Maybe if I still have the box the instructions are there...HA.
I love alone time to work on whatever. No worries about food, etc---just work. I miss not having larger amounts of that kind of time. Gary used to be TDY a lot and I was so accustomed to working nonstop. Now that he's home, well, I have to work in short intervals and I have a brain that likes to go from point A to point B in one line with no sidetracks.
Anyway, we are lucky today, yes???
Have fun! I am!!!

I'm so glad you have some down time finally. Looking forward to seeing those banners, I hope you are able to get some good pix. Did you find your needlefelting instructions? Good luck with that. I ended up liking just doing it by hand better, but then I don't have a professional machine. Just have fun! And don't get bit by the boyz!
Ooooh, felting machine, talk about instant gratification. I want one, wah!
Yes, Jan....I finally found them...buried. I spent a few hours working with it; there is a learning curve. Crashed the rest of the afternoon and may work tomorrow or may knit. I like what I have done but need to go through my yarns to find a specific type.
I also still have all my fingers. <:)

hey Leslie, before you consider one, find someone that owns one and use it for a half day first. This still does not do all that it is cracked up to. It works okay----I think there would be more control with hand felting, but I am working a big piece with mixed fibers, so I guess this is best.
It was on sale......it followed me home.....what can I say????

I am so dense! I thought that when you said "banners" I tought your were talking about your blog header. I wondered why it took you so long! However, since I was preoccupied with my own problems my FPOT did not venture far and was satisfied with blog banner. Congratulations and I am glad you have your fiesty self back! Right on!
Hi Anne! Congratulations on getting your banners almost out the door! I have art-lag. It's like jet-lag, but you get it when you do too much art. haha! I seriously am having to FORCE myself to finish some things. Things people have paid for. I'm like a little kid who doesn't want to do her homework! Maybe I'll just go to bed early and sleep and tomorrow my art-lag will be over, and I will be refreshed! Happy Sunday! xoxo Pam
Oh the possibilities there are in your list and such a joy to be able to take some time and just ponder them without a deadline over your head. That has to be a great feeling!
I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the banners hanging - I hope you can snap some!
Did you enjoy your down time? I had sort of the same issue today - my "big" job is now out of the way, so I'm working on smaller things I have to do. Today I actually (gasped) put the binding on a quilt I made a year ago. LOL Perhaps I can actually photograph it tomorrow and get it on etsy in tme for the Black Friday sales!
Whatever you did with your day, I hope it was lovely!
Oh Ces, you are giving me my morning laugh!!!! (not that it wouldn't take me that long to tinker with a header banner.....)
Yes, I am having *those* moments more and more frequently! We need a club for FPOTs that have had too much to process properly!
Glad you're doing better...I'll be there too!

Anne
Pam---what do you think I struggled with the whole last couple of weeks of the banners? The pouty child who wanted to PLAY but had to WORK instead???? Art is strange...there could be a really good blog post in that. Hmmmmmm.....
Know you have my sympathy in that area because it happens to me every time I have a commission.
EVERY TIME.
Then when I have play time, like yesterday, I was sort of lost....OY!
Good luck with your work---you'll get it done!

Hi MA---
You know what? I found it confusing! I guess it was sort of like quitting a job; you'd had the same routine every day and then suddenly....poof. Free time and what do I do? I dithered half the day, finally got the felting machine going, did that a while and then napped until evening when I started a new and tortuous knitting project.
Today is better....I know it is free and may just clean some more and rest a lot!
XXOO!!
Anne
Hey Tristan,
Your day was more productive than mine, but that's okay. It's so odd when those big commissions are out. I really wanted to work in the wet studio but did not have the oomph to do it. Played with the felting machine (after searching for the manual, etc! hmph!) but mostly just tried to clean up a bit to give me some visual rest too. Did not use my camera, did not do the things I normally do.......it was odd.
It always takes me a few days to get back to *normal*--loosely speaking--after a hard job.
Hope your Quilt sells---I'm sure it's fabulous!

I know you will be churning the ol' brain cells even in your down time ... try to relax a bit and recharge. You need your body good and healthy as you approach your Dec date.
Yeah, Teri, I know I need to be all well and perky but whatever germ it is we had/have/might be over (HA!) doesn't seem to want to depart.
I've putzed today.....and did much the same yesterday. Trying to knit from a chart I can't see and losing my little temper! LOL!!!
My brain cells are churning all right.....they just need to QUIT!!! :)

I am looking forward to hearing about your banners that you worked so hard on. Please do give us an update this week! :)
