These are not maple keys---in fact, I don't know the tree they were on, but I saw little wishbones, papery-thin, fragile, delicately swaying in the breeze. Thus, one big human hand inserted into the frame to hold the dainties still. I should have brought a few back to incorporate into art.......alas, nothing with me to carry them in.
In the "Truly Amazing" catagory, an old fallen tree, so covered with vines that the bark is almost obscured. A click on the photo will reveal wild grapes in abundance hanging about. Leaves and moss have settled between the vines, forming a textural delight. Again, I have walked past this daily........for years. It's nice for that artists eye to have returned!
A leathery Sycamore leaf, the cropped portion almost as large as my hand. The veining and detail is just beyond me. So beautiful, so precise. To paint or draw this accurately would drive a person mad.......there is so much, so very much, to see.
I am reminded of the quote "God is in the details".
How true.
I hope you find them.......

Good Morning Anne!
You post a good reminder of the saying.."Stop & smell the roses!!"
Going to rain here later today... am off to get groceries for the week before it does...
Have a Wonderfully Creative Day!!
Love,
MArilyn
Hi MArilyn!
Pouring rain here---I need to shop but refuse to go out.
It really has been interesting doing the pics for the blog---it has made me learn to *see* again. Not just go, run, maybe notice, but SEE what wonderful things are around us and beneath our feet. I shot a ton the day I took these!
Stiff from the weather; going to enjoy coffee and get moving on sewing work.
Have a good one!

all beautiful! i love fall! thanks for sharing how it looks in your part oif the world- i think the first is my favorite...... must be the red:)
You are SO right. There is beauty all around us if we just slow down long enough to see it. The other day I saw the prettiest little bird in my backyard. I have arthritis in my back and neck and was trying so very hard to do some work in the backyard and was hurting so bad...then I saw the little bird...sat down and watched it and was thankful for the view. We just have to slow down some...and open our eyes and heart.
Hey Marianne...
Yep, I am fond of that red on black one....I might even print it out. I swear, it looks like I set it up.....right at my toes! HA!
Off to the sewing tables....ugh. Tired.
Have a good one!

Hi Janet,
I have OA all over, so I know what you mean about hurting with yardwork. And then you see something wonderful and stop. Just soak it in. Little gifts.....
We are in a three day rain pattern and I am afraid all the pretty color will be gone when this is over. But I've taken enough pics to last a long time!

I drove around again yesterday taking more pictures. The rain is due to start here today, too, lasting through the weekend. I wanted to get as many photos as possible because it just isn't going to look the same once the rain pulls the leaves down.
You are right ~ so much beauty in one little leaf. Just about everything we pick up has a beauty of its own ~ we only have to stop and LOOK at it.
I'm so behind on things since I took time to go photo shooting for two days, but I don't even care - it was worth seeing all that beauty and capturing a little of it.
I shudder to think what we would be without our cameras.... LOL!
Stay dry and warm, Anne.
((hugs))
I'm with you Audrey! It's like frantically trying to save EVERY LEAF!!! I picked up a bunch of ginkos to press, smoothing them out and enjoying the silk-like feel of the ones that had fallen. They get softer after a light frost. Running madly for one more shot (or so....and I paid dearly for it) and so many on the computer I have NO IDEA what to do with them all but look!!! Which is enough, really.
Nasty here---so dark and wet.
And please don't take my camera away...I will surely go through withdrawal! LOL!!!
HAve a good one!

A very blurring good morning...am getting over from the "Jalapeno from Hell!" I can't think of anything else I ate except some nachos Wed. night. Woke up yesterday as if something were burning a whole through my stomach and esophagus!! Anyway, feeling a bit better today and am getting myself into that studio. Now I need to concentrate on Christmas stuff...so time to use those little gray cells again, oh bother. Lovely pics...we don't have anything like that here that I know of...I could send pics of my Wondering Jew plant and geraniums in pots....then there's my dieing tomato plants...need to stop...even bumming myself. Have a good one, lady.
xxoo,
Georgina
Oh, i love the veins in the leaves, Anne! When you think of all the wondrous things...our bodies even...and how it all works..the ultimate designer of it all...its mind boggling!..
so many things to be thankful for..so glad you took the time
to validate!
Wow..i have a wonderful rainy day to be AT HOME..wheee! In looking out my window just now..i see the trees have all turned a gorgeous shade of golden yellow..i am looking down on them...if the rain lets up, i'll be going down there for some pics!
thanks for the nature tour, Anne!

Hey Georgina....
I hate to suggest this...
STOP EATING JALAPENOS!!!! They backfire on you!!!!
and yes, I would accept wander jew pics or other things---I like them all.
Get well dear--we need your humor!

Hey Jean,
It is really amazing....I'm surprised I've not been run over or severly injured trying to get pics; people don't slow down on these country roads!
Hope your weather clears enough to preserve a bit of color for the grey days of Winter....before snow!
XXOO!!

Fabulous photos, Anne. I LoVe the leaf on the road. No need for photoshop what so ever.
**happy smiles** Deb
Deborah, if I had to take the time to learn Photoshop, I would never get a blog posted!
I think my brain is like some of those little acorns Ces draws....encased in a hard shell that won't let anything new in!!!
LOL!

I love that first photo...for some reason...the color and beauty of it speaks to me today...I am feeling low and broken. For some reason, that pictures gives me hope!!
Hi Sophia,
There is ALWAYS hope.....I'm in a semi-broaken state myself at the moment, though hopefully this can be fixed with surgery.
However, at other times in life, it has been the emotional level.
Hope is always there, to be grabbed...we have to take the step forward to reach for it.
I'm glad you made your way here... :)

Love love love that first picture, really amazing what is right at our feet sometimes!
Yeah Julie....it was just the right glance at the right time.
But your banana slug still takes the cake! I love that!!!

Wouldn't it be fun to be able to take walks at each others places? I always find that people will see new things on the walk I take every day, seeing with their unclouded eyes.
Hey Jan,
YES!!!! I think we get so accustomed to what is around us that it takes someone else to really point things out.
And not that my house needs cleaning really BAD either! LOL!!!! :)
I could have a ball with a camera at your house!
XXOO!!!
Anne
Your pictures are AMAZING! Such and inspiration!!!
Hi Robbie!
Thanks! I love that little cuddly pooch in the avatar pic! What a face!
The pics, truly, are the luck of an auto camera (with features I won't take the time to figure out!) and just learning to LOOK. Anyone can do it. It takes some practise, but really, anyone can do this with the way photography has advanced!

I'm a photoshop ignoramus too. I finally figured out how to crop pictures (when I remember to do it, that is). I need a new camera because mine just doesn't do really good close-ups which is really what I wanted it for. It's okay for longer distances but I have to train the brain to carry it with me.
Cheers
MA
LOL!!!
Yes, I have to make significant effort to remember my camera! That's why it's usually a photo walk as opposed to just carrying it all the time.
(sigh)
Age......what can I say?
Mine does pretty good for close ups; has a limited built in macro. I could not justify the price of the next one up......
All I do is crop, and occasionally change the exposure a bit; same as I used to do in the darkroom. otherwise something in my little brain tells me I'm cheating. Go figure!

I do not know what those little fragile leaves are really called but as a child I played in my grandmother's front yard and we collected them to toss up in the air off her huge front porch. That was when the front porch was the entry to a family's home and graces. The details that are given to us if we take the time to open our eyes and widen our lenses to receive the gifts that are given. Have a sweet night of peaceful rest. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen
Good morning and a happy weekend! I love your brain, as nymphs we shall henceforth call brain F-POT (Frontal Parietal Occipital and Temporal lobes that Bella and I coined for the brain). So I love your F-POT. You see beauty in the simplest of things, you stop and admired and like a blogger (you have a camera implanted on your body) you capture it for us. I love reading your thoughts. Nature is a master designer indeed. There's a Google map on that sycamore leaf if you photograph it with a micron camera! I think the particular leaf on this post is a map of Texas, no?
Dear Ces,
This is the F-POT talking.
Anne is not awake yet, but if she wasm she would be most delighted with the comments. The fool woman has NOT had enough caffeine to be fully functional......
I do wish I had the next step up camera (cannot justify the cost and will not buy it!) but this one does FINE when I set it on a high resolution....yes, there is a map of everything in the Sycamore leaf. Texas too....probably where you LIVE! And I swear, it was bigger than my big hand!
The sun is out today and I might try and stagger down the road a bit before more rain comes in---we're losing our leaves rapidly. I want to save them all on the computer untill next year when there are more....and pick some up to press.
And I have to work....bleah....
F-POT out....
XXOO!!
Anne
Mary Helen,
I wish I knew what they were too, and had collected some.
I remember the days of front porches, when the town spent evenings out there, until the sun was far gone and the air cool.
I have a huge porch but never am out there....it seems now everyone's lives are too busy for spending the evening, watching twilight fall......
XXOO!!

I'm waiting, breathless...... ;-D
