What A Surprise of Nature!!!!

Let's face it, I can walk, so that means the camera is in hand. My crab apple tree has been looking dead and stripped of leaves most of the Summer. I was wondering if I had lost it. So, wandering very slowly around the flowers I look up and what do I see?
Can it be?
Am I so feverish I am imagining this???
One perfect lone apple blossom, on a stripped limb, a few leaves, a few buds.
How wonderful and amazing is that???
I thought about doing a vignette on this, or something fancy but the pic itself says it all. There is always a brighter side.......we have to have our eyes open to find it.

Pax.

that is a very evocative photo!

we finally had our flowering crab apple cut down this year ... it was always beautiful in May - and then looked dead from June until the following May. I was a little sorry to see it go - until I realized how much light it was blocking!

The neighborhood kids actually called it the "witch tree" ... and I don't think they were referring to me.

Oh...I love the starkness of the
dark branches against the amazing flower here! What a nice surprise, huh? Maybe its a good omen, telling you..you're getting better! A great shot!

"witch tree" ?..haha, Tristan!
i agree...could not be referring to you! lol!

Oh Tristan, sorry yours had to go and hope that is not the fate of mine.
They sprayed for bagworms this year, and I still think that did it in. The morons were to only spray the pines----like, you CAN tell the difference???? Well, they sprayed everything and I was HOT. That was the first of the leaf drop---and it only appears to be up to the level the spray would reach, sooooooo......
The kids weren't talking about you, though here it might be the same description except with a *B* instead of the *W*........ ;)

Jean, it was amazing to see that one flower and yes, I consider it a good omen even if it is a fluke of nature! It made me very happy to get the camera out! Plus such a blue sky yesterday---that baby has no retouching what so ever.....
A bit better today but really dragging. Guess I'll know more when I am up longer.

Nature always has a gift for us no matter how bleak things look. (: Your photo is just one small example ~ such a beautiful little flower.
You are sounding more like yourself. I think the worst is behind you. YAY!!!

Hey Audrey,

I am hoping the worst is past----I'm having a fit to get back to work but can't seem to have the energy. So that's the road to improvement.
SLOW!!!!
I just couldn't believe that little blossom!!! So pink and pretty!
Have a great Sunday!

Around here everything goes from green to brown, then brown back to green...the desert is a no brainer, but you ought to see it when there's an ice storm...yes, we get them occasionally...it's sooo spooky, yet beautiful. Hope you're feeling better...I am.

I'm better Georgina, but not back to anything close to normal. Another day that I'm going to be flat out.
We had an ice storm here last winter that was fightening and amazing---went out and shot lots of pics. Some things you had no idea what they were!
Here's to both of us killing the bug!!!

Love that single blossom on the "dead" tree ... i am going to grab my camera and go out snapping ... thanks for the inspiration to get off my butt!

Teri---better than a load of buckshot, isn't it??? And better than cleaning!
I saw my first Fall color today in some of the trees---you might take a drive along the river or out in the country.
When I am well......out I go with car and camera!
