Ah yes...that pretty much sums up yesterday. While I need days off, here is what yesterday looked like at Chateau Lockard:
First, the new mail server had quite nicely deleted all my settings for what was and was NOT Spam, so I spent a couple of hours in the morning re-entering 100+ e-mail addresses, white listing them. Then I got to go through all the bulk mailings I subscribe to, and try and figure out which ones were in the said white list and the ones needing to be put there. This was not fun.....in any way, shape or form. By the time I was finished, I had a whopping headache, plus I assume the hip hurt because I had sat on it for so long.
Second, (related to the first), I discovered the lady I keep in contact with about doing church banners had written me, and said useless mail server had decided to dump her letter---which had business in it---into the Spam file while letting through lovely smarmy e-mail about things being enlarged or people who want to *be my friend*. Obviously they do not KNOW ME. And I really don't need and/or WANT anything enlarged. Ahem!
Third, I had a good painting fall off the wall, straight down behind a glass nightlight. The light bulb shattered into pieces too small for my decrepit eyes to see, but I figured the fingers and toes would find them soooooooo......
Fourth, I was FORCED to get the vacuum out and start sucking glass. I could not see it, I could only hear it. And being as OCD as I am, and having not cleaned the studio in a while, I was discovering all sorts of nasty tidbits that I really did not want to share my space with, so a full fledged attack on the floor began. Which, considering the amount of crappola I have in here, is nigh impossible.
So I did the obvious and sensible thing; I sat down and played on Facebook a while. Quite a while. Sweep a little, read a little, sweep, sweep, sweep.......wait a minute. That's beginning to sound vaguely like a song from "Oklahoma!"
THREE HOURS LATER.......
I finally have enough of the dust up that I don't feel too guilty about sitting again, I've actually put a few things away and I am pretty much done for the day. My time has been spent on drivel--useless and inane, back breaking, giving me pains all down the leg, and all because a painting had to fall off the wall.
I did, however, find two books I forgot I had (and have not read) and got more things put away. It is that amount of Southern Blood that rises to the surface and forces me to submit to the sweeper. It should be illegal. Someone should do this for me. There are so many better ways to spend time......dang! Housework is the spawn of the Devil's Arse!!!!!
(deep exhale....)
Okay, I feel better.
On the bright side, it looks like I will be doing a set of Christmas Banners, so that is actually money, which I've seen little of since the great fall, and I am quite happy about that. Will meet probably sometime next week. And I should shut up and count my blessings, which are very many.
So get out there and enjoy the day; let the house wait, let life grab your hand and take you for a joyride!
And go make art!
Pax.

You are so funny, Anne! Thank you for the giggle. It is funny how a simple thing like a painting falling off the wall can snowball into ruining your life (Kidding!!!!!!). Have a great day, too! xo Pam
Well, that's pretty much my life in a nutshell! LOL!!! But the thing with the mailserver just about sent me off the deep end (not that it takes much, I'm close to the edge most days!) because morning is the time I actually get the art going, and once that's shot......forget it!
And if I just would clean more often...... >:(
Wow, you did have the day from hell yesterday. Unfortunately, we all have those days from time to time. I think you must have them so you can write about them in that amusing way you do and entertain your followers! LOL!
I hope today is an enjoyable day for you free from all mishaps!
LOL!!!! Audrey, I'm always telling my girlfriend I have adventures every day; unfortunately, they are NOT the type I would LIKE!!!!
I have to have a sense of humor about all this stuff----today, it's rather funny. Yesterday.....no. HA! That's life!
Whoa - hopefully your day will not spill over into mine today - I spent at least an hour yesterday trying to find my triangles on a roll - which I KNOW I have, and the day before two hours trying to find two Dover clip art books and master discs, since I am organizing myself....Sometimes it doesn't pay to get up......
I hear you. I used to have a couple of rolls of the triangles; for the life of me I cannot remember if I kept them or sent them to the happy hunting ground. I am always looking for something; at the moment it is an attractive jar/glass to put 24 Sharpies in, so I can see what I have.
Today kind of looks like another *didn't pay to get up except for the coffee* type thing!
I don't know what's worse---being totally disorganized or trying to fix it. :)
Haha, Anne...Some days nothing goes right!.. lets hope today will be better...
I am in total agreement..LET THE HOUSE WAIT!..hehe..
I can't believe i am excited over 8 little new plastic boxes!.. 4 small..4 larger. did a wally world shop last nite..it is time for a touch of organization...
today is the day to fill them up!
with my fabric collage stuff..
old jewelry, ribbons, papers, scraps...glues..etc..you name it!
Thanks for the laugh, anne...not funny yesterday,i'm sure!
gypsy
LOL!!! Yeah, it gets funnier the further away it is!
I'm still obsessing, looking for something for the Sharpies....except by the time I get from the studio to the house I've forgotten what I went in for. Geez..... :)
And you ought to see the number of plastic boxes I have stashed...for everything! They're great!
Hey Anne, sorry to hear about your mishap...damn, I hate when that happens!! Glad you came and visited my blog today...I'm still snickering about that one. As for Ms. Church Lady, tell her to stick it where the sun don't shine!!!
I tell you Georgina, that was toooo funny ! Priceless!
I think maybe you misunderstood the post--I really WANTED that letter that the Spam Can took---that's who I work with and she's been through the same Ortho crap as me, (she ended up going to a second one too to get things right, and in the same city I went to) so we had been commisserating! Everything's GOOD with that---not pestering. I'm happy....more work means money!!!!
You need to send your story to one of the physicians magazines; I think you could win a prize!
Your Saturday has to be better than your Friday... but cleaning and organizing (even forced cleaning) is usually a good thing... gotta find that silver lining.
Fine dear.....you come over here and find it for me! LOL!!!!!
Playing on Facebook is a good diversion to real WORK! :)
I get so bloody frustrated with the computer sometimes that I must close the lid and place anything on it to hide it from my senses. I don't like loosing information before I can save it, I don't like new programs and having to learn them all to run them effectively and I really don't like mail programs taking a vacation on me.
Sounds like you survived! Good for you. Blessings. Tammy
TAmmy,
I tell you, trying to deal with new ISP's and their odd-ball webmails is enough to make me take a railroad spike and go start searching for who ever is responsible.
Somehow, they don't UNDERSTAND that a lot of people do business by e-mail???? DUH????
Yeah, I'm okay. It's just those big wastes of time that irritate me. I've had to waste enough time this year as is with my hip.
I'm as okay as I get....LOL!!!!
