First off, we have the great meeting of the minds ; Val, Susan, Caroll and Alisha. Naturally, my mind is safely behind the camera!Alisha starts with tags and sorting of cleaning materials.....
Richard gets started hanging his pieces, which were large enough to fill one end wall and provide visual punch when the viewer comes in.
Group scrutiny as we check to make sure spacing is proper, things look good next to each other, etc. (and yes, I was working too--the photos came from ladder breaks!)
And finally a couple of shots of the finished product; this is just a portion. There was a lot of art and some of my end-of-day photography was less than perfect! Okay, a lot of it was. No excuses---I was in a hurry and wanted to be done and on the road.
We were all exhausted, mostly from the worry of dropping someone else's piece of artwork and then having a breakdown! But all in all, everything went smoothly, we only had one wall we had to really scoot things on to get it spaced properly and at the end, there were lots of high fives to go around.
And I don't want to do it again tomorrow. No, I think I need a few good soaks in the tub for the knees and hips and then, yes, I would do it again!
There is nothing more rewarding than taking a diverse group of art and making it into one cohesive unit, with a specific visual flow both through color and the gentle undulation of the eye going up and down as opposed to the straight hanging that is frequently thought of when the word "gallery" is mentioned. This requires the viewer to look, and look again, and then come back and find another treasure they may have missed.

It looks like it's going to be a fabulous show, wish I could be there in support, but I am in spirit. Good luck with it all.
I so here what you are saying, it took me two days to recover from changing a tire, sigh.
It's that "Hits-You-After" syndrome.....and DH came home early, so I can't go snooze on the couch, which is what I would reeeeeeeeeally like to do!
It's a cool show and I wish you could be here too--it would be most fun!
Wow, at first glance I see some robots that look like some fabric in my stash, and a border collie who looks just like my Rosey. All y'all did a great job! Wish I could view it in person and Anne, rest up and feel better. I'm gonna send a link to my cousins who grew up right outside of Logansport.
I was thinking of you when I was doing the post---wondering how much things have changed down there since you were last here.
We all went en masse to Arbys for lunch and terrified the locals.....I had on my special jeans that have quilted insets and skulls and roses all over them. (read that *fat pants*) Two farm guys were there and kept staring so I just walked out, did the model twirl and told them I had NO SHAME! The one poor boy turned bright red and started laughing!

Wow! Looks like a great show! I'd love to be able to attend and view more closely. You are a talented bunch.
Jan, you are so right---we are blessed with a talented bunch of people and I am thankful every single day for it.
