Thinking....

....you know where the brain is going with this. I love my big composition books, collaged and filled with journal text, so why not do something with those LITTLE composition note books???
Debating the merits of trying to put staples in the black binding or leaving them as is, where the pages can be pulled out, for little notes to take along.
Decisions, decisions.....
Still cropping photos to show the finished piece of art that I had posted the beginning of the background~~my poor mind has been going ten different directions at once, and putting a post together seemed impossible.
MAYBE TOMORROW.
In the meantime, I value input on whether or not to *try* to staple the edges of the baby-books!
Hope your day is creative and productive!

Are your staples long enough? If so, try one...looks like you have several. :)

I have one of those extended reach staplers, if yours isn't long enough.

Well, I tried doing to holes using the punch tool you gave me, and HOLY COW! Those little things are SOLID!
So I'm thinking staples just might not do it, unless I had one of those really heavy duty office staplers~~the ones that staple thick documents....
Rethinking...

How about a nail gun? teehee. Looks like a fun project. I think I would like to try that, if I ever get all these boxes emptied and curtains made. Actually, I am in no hurry...I am enjoying moving in. Today, I am happy! Big Love, Deb

Seriously Deb! That might make it through all the paper.
You ought to try these~~check the post "Binding Words" for how I started them, and the finishing.
They're lots of FUN!

Hi Anne hope you had a beautiful loving Easter. You might try punching holes and using ribbon, tho you would need those little hole stabilizers. I did those for my grands one year for Christmas.
They loved them.

Thanks Peggy~~that was kind of what I was thinking. I may have to let this stew for a day or so and see what I really like, but ribbon sounds better than staples! :-)

Might be a job for a dremel to punch holes? A la Mr. Demeng....nothing you can't do with a dremel right? xox

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Alas Corrine, my Dremel is kaput, and when I priced a NEW ONE, I almost had an M.I.
Had NOOOOOO idea they had gone up so much in price! *gasp!*
I made it through all of them with a Click-It hole punch.
I can't feel my hand, or move my arm, but the holes are done.....

I have the same problem right now Anne...my mind flits like a June Bug on a string! I have a visit to the neurosurgeon on Monday...say a prayer ! You are connected dear one!! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Hey Mary Helen,

You'll be in my thoughts Monday. (next week must be Dr. week....)
It is so frustrating having my head going from thing to thing, but then it seems the next day things calm down and I can focus. It's not happening as much now, which is NICE... :-)

I vote for the nail gun! At least to punch some holes, then you can run your ribbon or linen thread or whatever. Do those comp books have fabric on the binding? Have fun with it, whatever you do.

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions, but I seriously doubt staples are the answer...not without really hurting yourself. Hmmmmm....will ponder.....

Hey Jan,

LOL! Me and a nail gun....frightening thought! ;-D
I finally just toughed it out with the Click-It hole punch and got all of them punched. 50 clicks per hole, 100, per book, six books...=1 sore hand and arm!
But I got nice clean homes.
These just have a sort of tape or paper; not like the big ones. They are made to be pull out sheets for little lists.

Hey M.A.

I had ditched the staple idea due to the fact I figured I would staple a body part to the things....blood would follow, not good! :-)
Went with holes.
A full days work~~wore me out!
Now to cord or ribbon....hmmmmmm...thinking.....
