Post 700 and ONE TOUGH CHICK!!!

Scythe Woman here. Since the blog-mistress has been so deftly ignoring posting, I thought it was time to take a little CONTROL around here and get things moving.
She has babbled for 700 posts. GOOD LORD!
Who has that much to say???? (who wants to READ that much pablum???)
So I'm here to pass out an award that *she* made a long while back and dawdled and then LOST in her files and now it's left to me to do the dirty work.
*sigh*
And you thought there would be a give away.
Maybe at 800 kiddies.....
Anyway, here is the award:

Okay, yeah, I'm vain but I'm a tough chick and I want to recognize OTHER tough chicks out there. Those of us who have taken the hard knocks and got up and kept right on going. Those of us who would have rather quit but pushed through any number of problems~~health, art, family, work, decisions~~you name it.
We came out the other side with grace. (and sometimes a scythe)
So here is the thing.
I'm asking.....are you a Tough Chick? (or Dude--hey, I'm flexible)

TELL ME WHY.

Leave a comment saying why you are a tough chick or dude, snag the award and pass it on to people you know to be of superior strength in numerous ways. It's not the tough on the outside that counts; it's the tough on the inside that gets us through!
I know several people I HOPE will comment without me having to come after them and drag them physically to the blog.....COMMENT!
And make Scythe Woman happy.
Oh...here comes the blog-mistress now in her pajamas.....lazy sot.
Gotta run.
It may be signed by her, but really, hey~~

I'm a tough chick because I put up with some crazy Milagro woman who shall remain nameless because, well...she IS HOLDING A SCYTHE!Actually I'd have it no other way. So I'm not such a tough chick afterall. Unless you count the really crazy crap I get myself into when vacationing on the Harley. I'm surprised I'm still here! And if that still doesn't make me tough well then have you ever wondered what it's like living with my own Censor? Egad!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Elena,

Scythe Woman bequeaths upon you the title of ONE TOUGH CHICK!!!!
YOU ARE WORTHY!!!
And you already have chaps, don't you? :-D

Well, I have been fortunate in life thus far not to have been tested so much on my internal fortitude but I was a heavy equipment operator for over 10 years, running graders, dump trucks and loaders, street sweepers and hefted many a shovelful of asphalt to fill potholes. And I lived in a squatters cabin with no electricity and running water for several winters in Alaska.
Now I say that's as tough as I'm going to get, It's got to be good enough!
xoxo Kim

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Ah Kim,

Scythe Woman says you are INDEED "ONE TOUGH CHICK" and entitled to all the rights and privileges there of.
Just living in the CABIN qualifies you~~methinks we need an even higher category of honor!!!

You are now and forevermore know as the beautiful "ONE TOUGH CHICK" who remains lovely and full of grace.
Scythe Woman cannot see you in chaps and a Misfits hat, so I'm thinking those hiking boots are the real deal!
Welcome to the pack, FBBBFF!

Oh sweetie, you look devilishly divine ! A blonde angel wearing a skull t-shirt and black leather chaps, showing off a scythe ! Tough but exquisite ! Yep ! I'm a tough one too ! Gave the boot to my boyfriend's illness, stood by his side and kept a smile on ! I can take it ! But that will be enough for now, thanks ... ;-) Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz xxx

Jan said...

Hey, I put up with Chainsaw man on a daily basis! I know that qualifies me. and if it doesn't, I'll hit you with my bodybuilding trophies till you let me in the elite group!
On second thought, I am sure your scythe reaches much further than my dusty old trophies, so will the Chainsaw man part qualify me?
Congrats on 700 posts! Way to go! and I've read every one....enjoyed them too.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Lulu,

Yes! You kicked the but of an illness and saved your boyfriend, plus you can play hockey, so you are DEFINITELY, in my book, "ONE TOUGH CHICK"~~and you wear that proudly! :-)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Jan, as long as you have hung with me on blog and in life, you deserve MORE than this award.....plus with chainsaw man, I'm thinking the Purple Heart is more apropos. (and ear plugs)
However, I do indeed christen thee "ONE TOUGH CHICK" and I know that you are!
Now go kick some butt!

I'm 67 and got here by being too tough to dwell on those obstacles along the way. However, that chick with the scythe has got me SCARED.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Jo,

That totally makes you "ONE TOUGH CHICK"!!!
(and the chick with the scythe is pretty harmless except to thistles and ragweed, and occasionally herself when she's trying to sharpen the fool thing....)
Welcome to the club! :-)

hey, I think I qualify! I beat cancer, I've moved on from abusive relationships and childhood sexual abuse, and I don't think anyone owes me anything because I've had it rough. I live my life with grace and peace and I'm grateful for every day, but don't EVER ever hurt the ones I love, friends included ;)

You rock scythe woman! I remember this photo from last year! Still hot!

I've missed stopping by. I have to get used to my new scheduled life ;P

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

My schedule is changing too~~trying to adjust to the difference in the sun also. Scythe Woman is NOT amused...LOL!

Anne,

In my best Slingblade voice - "I like the way you talk..." Seeing those chaps, does that mean you have a Harley in the garage? Alas, that was one of the first victims of this recession, my beloved bike.

At any rate, I love strong, smart, sarcastic women! You go, girl!

Namaste,
Brian

yoborobo said...

Brian - then you will love Anne! hahahaha!

I must be tough, because I am still here on planet Earth and most days having a good time of it all. Although, will I get disqualified for whining now and then? How about napping? :)

Go Scythe Woman, oh awesome one!

Robbie said...

I'm just the wimp gal! And I have one of those 'memory blocks' so I don't remember the 'bad' only the good! Congrats and keep 'talking to us'...you make our day!

Laura said...

Wow 700!!!! That is awesome and I would agree from what I know about you Anne that your are indeed one tough, courageous chick. Me? I don't know if I'd say tough, but I have certainly been through a lot in my life and manage to still find gratitude every day.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Brian,

Yeeeeaaahhhh! Slingblade!
Hey, you are OFFICIALLY, in no uncertain terms "ONE TOUGH DUDE" because I remember you digging out those tree stumps! (I can't remember if I ate, but I remember that!)
Alas, Scythe Woman has no Harley due to DH knowing how I drive (think Indy 500, coming out of the curve...). And I mourn the loss of your Harley...so wrong, so wrong.
But chaps are very protective against thistles! :-)

No great hardships here, but I do split, stack and carry wood and plow, does that count? I don't think I need to be tough with you around and that sharp, sharp blade! I would always feel safe with you except around fire and heat guns. Love this pic of Scythe woman, but we knew you were tough always. LOL xox Corrime

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Corrine,

Splitting wood (and anything related to it!) and plowing?? Oh yes! You are definitely, definitely "ONE TOUGH CHICK"!!! Scythe Woman salutes you.
And yeah, I do have a little trouble with the heat guns.....yikes! :-D

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh nooooooo!
Marianne, you are sooooo far from being a weenie as you consistently put your art out there and deal with the rigors of it!
Scythe Woman says you are "ONE TOUGH CHICK" of the gallery, the studio, and some of the people you must deal with (and-you-know-who-I-mean).
Wear it well!!!
You deserve it!

my goodness! there are some seriously tough chicks here. look what you've inspired lovely anne (#1 tough chick!).
i'm not sure if i could be called tough, im more lucky. i didn't realize at the time that leaving an abusive alcholic father for a husband of the same nature and tastes, and then leaving them both to raise five children on my own could be thought of as tough. espically since i only felt fear (not a tough trait). but maybe maybe i am after all. perhaps there is a tiny tough award?
:)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Lori,

Scythe Woman is humbled before you, because that is the toughest of toughness.....your are certainly, in more ways than you know, "ONE TOUGH CHICK" and should be honored!!!
I think fear means that *tough* is following right behind, pushing us all the way, yes???

You have to be a tough chick in today's world or you'll get walked on in a minute! I've always been independent and able to delete or find a different path around any obstacle that was put in front of me, be it physical, mental, or human! My friends used to say I was "tiny but mighty"! Not so tiny anymore, but been mighty, strong, and tough all my life. My big warm heart takes precedence, but "tough chick" is on call if the need arrives.
♥ audrey

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Audrey, I think we were independent long before it was FASHIONABLE to be so! LOL!
You are a perfect example of "ONE TOUGH CHICK" and Scythe Woman recognizes you as such!
And frankly, the inner tough chick keeps them all on their toes when she emerges! LOL! YOU GO GIRL!!!

Hey Chickory!

LOL! I like the idea of the poster on a Navy ship! heehee!
And you ARE indeed "ONE TOUGH CHICK" because I read of your exploits and only tough chicks can live on the land and care for it and create art too~~thus, the blessing of Scythe Woman.
