Flitting In.....

Time flies when you're having fun, but when you're kind of out cold.....well....I feel I have neglected this blog forever.
Had a little *fly about* and am landing for a moment.

I actually have a bit of art to photograph when I am back to par; one piece is fighting me tooth and nail, the other is finished. That's just how it goes~~art has a mind of it's own, and YOU better not mind! LOL!
Down time has given me lots of time to think, write and mull my work, my direction and what, in general, makes me the happiest.
It also brought up that I *STILL* want a bottle tree in my yard and I have wanted a votive holder/kneeler from an old church FOR EVER and have not a clue where to begin the search.
Odd how these things pop in the head and circle and circle, never really leaving, just hiding a bit and reappearing when you least expect it. (I have no idea WHY it is I need these...I just do)
The bottle tree is manageable; the votive holder/kneeler is going to be a very very long shot.
In the meantime I am still trying my best to get back in one piece and hope that by next week I am going at full speed, damn the torpedoes again. Hey, I can dream!
So if you come across a church that really wants a GOOD HOME for an old votive candle stand......ummmm......point them my way, eh?
Til later, when all the brain cells are working and I have something amazing to post....

Pax....

I came back to reality on just the right day for you to pop in. I always loved those votive holder's, it was my favorite part of church. Bottle trees, yes, so doable. I WILL keep an eye out for
a votive holder but if you need it that badly one will show up.

That's what's so funny about the votive stand~~I have wanted one since I was a child and it just surfaced again, so I figure there is a reason.
And I don't want a new one. I want one that was in a church, even if it's busted.
Leave it to me....LOL!

Agree with Corrine. You offered a good home to one that might otherwise be tossed. It will find its way home.

It would have a GOOD home.... :-)

Bottle tree?? Is that a tree with all sorts of wine bottles??? You better start drinking, girl!! LOL Now that would be a fun project!! As for the votive candle holder/kneeler, I've seen those around these parts or I used to. I had an old church bench from a little abandoned church in Mexico, but I had no place to put it in this house, so now it has a new home in Las Cruces, NM. If I happen to see one, I'll let you know...all kinds of antique places just up the road from me.

Have a better week and don't stay away too long. Come on over to my blog for a little tour of a road trip Hubs and I took Saturday...take your mind off whatever ails ya.

Loves ya,
G

Ha Georgina! I have been saving bottles FOR EVER~~~I just need either a dead tree or one of those wrought iron ones they make now.
I remember in the church I grew up in, the rooms off the sacristy were filled with junk; broken tidbits, etc. And there was one in there and I know~~I KNOW~~that was where the desire started. All sorts of cool stuff; statues needing repair, bits and pieces...just things that had been replaced but the old ones not disposed of. Well, not then. Could barely work your way through the room.....

With all the wonderful stoles and banners you've made, and your big good heart, I wouldn't be surprised if God Himself delivered one of those old votice holders to you. What an extraordinary thing to desire. Better keep an eye on your backporch.
I've seen some cool looking bottle trees. I hope you do one ~ I just know it would be the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I think my DH would scrub the idea before I finished telling him about it. LOL.
Glad to see you feeling some better. Looking forward to art photos.

So happy you're feeling better -- I've been artistically slumped lately, myself -- must be the weather...

I love bottle trees and you have to drink wine chosen strictly for the beauty of the bottle to go on your tree. Get busy girl--we want photos!!

Have you ever looked on Ebay for a votive holder/kneeler? Everything's for sale on Ebay eventually!

We all need down time, time to think and ponder, to recharge - we are lucky if we find the gap to squeeze in a little dream time.

Hi All!

Thanks for the comments~~I have discovered a few votive stands and am quite thankful I was SITTING when I saw the price! LOL!
One is going to have to COME TO ME....
Feeling better--still slow but it is a bit at a time. Enjoying the downtime to just think and *fill the well*.
I really believe we all push too much and need more time to let ourselves slip out of the day and into total relaxation.
Although, I am sort of chomping the bit to get going again.
The monarch pic was luck~~they usually are shy but it was toward evening and I think it was so full of pollen that it chose to ignore me. Took tons of shots. A few good ones; you know the routine!

a sign of life!!! I hope you're feeling better each day Anne.
I can see why you'd want those things. The votive holder would be such a fine artsy conversation piece as well as being a "centering-piece" :)

I votive for trying to find a kneeler/votive on Ebay or else googling for vintage salvage yards and auction houses. I think that would be your best bet.
