Sometimes, Silence

Sometimes I remain silent in a meditation.

Life becomes cluttered and what I would say perhaps need not be said.

Things are barbed and sharp......exterior and interior forces keeping me bound.

None the less, I bloom. In drought, I still bloom....brightly and full.

And retreat quietly in the twilight to ponder the twists of life,
still rewarded with a lovely vision.

I wait.
And mull this moment.

Beautiful peaceful post. Speaking of posts, I love old mossy cedar fence posts.
I needed this bit of peace this morning. Feeling frustrated as the lovely new yahoo won't let me into my mail. What was wrong with the old yahoo mail that they had to "fix" it? arrrggghhh! I better go back and look at your lovely photos and read your peaceful words again.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Glad the post was helpful Jan.
I have had trouble with my Yahoo mail since the shoved everyone to the new platform. Half the time the mail won't load to open.
I agree; if it's not broke, LEAVE IT ALONE......
Same with FB and Blogger and, and, and!!!! ;-D
It's a conspiracy.... (ducks and runs!)

Pam....run and hide before the *HECTICS* can find you!
(I won't tell where you are...LOL!)
You have a good one, well, a peaceful one?

<<Is very relaxed now after reading this, thanks Anne. The quiet part is not working so much since my 6 cats and 3 dogs don't seem to know what that is. So i will hide in the studio music on and remember your words.I am sure i will find the quietness inside of me then.
Thanks for your words that remind us where to look to find the peace we sometimes so really need.
Andrea.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Andrea, trust em, I have to hide in the studio too and chill.
This morning, just the parakeet and listening to the Smithereen's best of CD......
Cloudy outside; good day to relax!

This is a beautiful post Anne! You have woven your images and words effortlessly into an amazingly inspiring moment! xo

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Robin,
Yes, I think we have so much noise and so much of everyone telling us what we *should* do that we shut off our inner voice.
Of course, shutting off my *outer* voice is the hard part... ;-D

Hey Amalia,

You know, when I was putting this together I did not think of it in the context of poetry. (probably not enough coffee....)
But reading it now, it sort of IS. :-)

KJ, I would question the wise part~~I just got in off the J.D. and yes, I ran myself into a tree.
Hoping no fat lip tomorrow! hahaha!
I love my little fountain. The birds don't go near it but the overspill is great for the butterflies! :-)

Beautifully put, Anne, a perfect marriage of beautiful photos and words.

PS: what is the plant with the blue flowers up the stem? They look a little like passion flowers but then again, probably not... Gorgeous, anyway.
xxxx

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Carol,

Thank you!
You know, I hate to admit I do not know the name of that wildflower. It grows where the top of the soil is dry and it's feet can get a little damp~~always but the roadsides or in ditches, on huge sand piles. Often it is as tall as I am, whole plant. I'll have to find a book and look it up.
Blossom is about the size of a macadamia nut, maybe smaller.

Your photos are always so soothing. Great choices for your meditation topic. I love that blue columbine.

Going within is a good thing. I'm having a bit of a hard time with company. I'm not good for long stays even if I love the person!

hangin' in the best I can, just like you.

Yes..completely. I'm starting to take this Mercury in Retrograde stuff a bit more seriously lately, with all the technology and electrical shenanigans. The gremlins are supposed to be done playing by the end of the month ;)
