Remnants Of The Week......

The week has flown here, and I feel I have only captured tidbits through my camera lens, to save and savor later.
Sharing a few.....it was a week of beauty.

All exquisite proof of why I need to get out of the studio more often and enjoy some of the lushness of the garden before it fades.
My habit of evening photo shooting has returned; this morning I shared coffee with the cool breezes and birds visiting the yard. Robins, brown thrashers, a red-winged blackbird, sparrows of many variations.
Life pushes forward......I think perhaps our ultimate purpose is not to miss it.
Here's to all there is to see~~and hoping you make time to see it!

Beautiful photos -- that single, perfect peony bud is my favourite! (at least, I think that's what it is!)

Yes, that was a peony just after a rain shower....perfect! :-)
Thanks Debra!

Anne, your evening photo shoots are producing such beauty that you share with us. Thank you.
The detail and intricacy that closeup shots give us is amazing. I will never regret taking time to walk the yard and enjoy the beauty and secrets of nature.
Have a beautiful weekend, my friend. Put the tools away until next week.

Audrey, I think the tools are being put away for quite a while.....now if I can get some jazz player that isn't full of ads and garbage, I will be a happy girl.....

Your irises are spectacular!! I am jealous!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Ah Linda,

They lasted such a short time. I had to grab shots between rain storms.....some blooms lasted a day. Some I cut and brought in though they made me sneeze something fierce! LOL!
They really bloomed out almost all at once and then....pfffft! Almost gone.
Thank heavens for the camera!

Beautiful iris!!

Thanks Janet!

I love my iris....wish they bloomed a whole lot longer. The last photo is of a very old fashioned one I brought from my previous house~~it had been there since the 50's at the minimum. One of my favorites!

I'm with Luthien. That last Iris is spectacular. You must have a lovely garden Anne.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Luthien,

The last photo is of a very old iris. It is much smaller than the new ones, and has beautiful veining. I have carried it around with me where ever I move! ;-)

Hi Jo,

My garden, well, it just tends itself. I have not really worked it over in three years now and what is strong makes it and everything else gets smothered. Sturdy plants really do best here....especially with me not tending them right!

None of the pics can beat the top one with the heart in the petal! Nice pics. Happy Weekend!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

You know what? I had not even noticed that as a heart....I just saw the fallen petal from the Tulip Poplar...
That's what I love about posting photos; how everyone catches something completely different in them!

Woohoo, those fallen leaf and petal shots are fantastic. Please take a shot of that peony when it opens.......xox Corrine

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

I have one Corrine; they opened so quick, the petal tips were sunburned.
I'll have to find it to upload later.
I may have to *doctor* it a bit to make it look better! LOL!!!

yes...our intimate purpose is not to miss it...oh darlin such true words...the photos...the flowers...all just exquisite...thank you for sharing with us...it's a real gift...

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Chrisy,

It has become so very easy in this world of cyberspace and constant job pressure to miss the beautiful and brief things about us in life.
Sometimes I think, just let me off the merry-go-round for a day or two....how wonderful!

Me, too, Anne! I am outside lots more lately. Of course, mostly I am swearing at weeds and yanking things out of the ground, but I am also marveling at nature and how she is so skilled at taking back what was hers to begin with. Beautiful photos!! xox Pam

it seems as though B;ogger has let me in today!

I haven't seen iris like the black, white and yellow one. How cool! And that tight little peony bud waiting to bloom. I love that it takes ants to open them. Symbiotic relationship.

I agree about not missing these things Anne. Life goes by in an instant most days.

Thanks for being out there and snagging all of this for us to see. Have to get out early around here to be able to tolerate the heat. No happy medium. Great shots.
