M.I.A. -- or --Missing In ART!

My apologies.....I truly have been Missing In Art. While I have had a few spare moments to pop into Face Book and say *hi*, most of my time has been feverishly spent getting the following pair of paintings, designed, created, varnished and OUT the door!

All rights reserved; 2011.

The photo is nominal~~I was (as usual) in a rush and just wanted to record them for posterity.....plus I was so tired from working nonstop in the studio for a week, I couldn't see straight!
Never the less, I was delighted in two things~~First, I got it done.
Second, I have not worked on 18"x24" canvas in a long time, and to manage to do TWO, well, happy dance time. ;-)
Sometimes it seems when we think we just don't have another ounce to give, that is when you discover how deeply you DO or DON'T want to make art. And I do, very much.
I am off on another project, which of course has a short deadline. I am not sure how many blogs I will be around; if you comment and have an e-mail addy, I'll pop you a note back. I feel bad about my lack of time to read and reply on your blogs, but I am hoping you understand.
It's always feast or famine, and right at the moment, I'm feasting away!
Until I am back on a somewhat *normal* schedule....haha.....
I bid you all,

Pax....

Hi Anne. Full time business usually beats boredom. Glad you are so busy doing something that you love. And I love what you are making.
I'm taking a break from all the walking I've been doing here in Charleston. DH is in a meeting and we'll be going to lunch soon.
Take care.

Hey Audrey!

I'm taking a short break, hunting supplies on the web...then back at it.
I'm still kind of pinching myself over what I've gotten done.
And there is plenty to pinch! LOL!
Have fun with your Charleston visit!!!

Hi Anne! You are in Happy Art Land! YAY! I love these pieces. Now stop blogging and lolly-gagging and get back to slinging gel medium around the room! Watch out for the birdies! (I've been MIA as well.) Have fun! xox Pam

Beautiful paintings, and I can tell you are busy doing what you love.

Ha!
Pam, I knew you'd totally understand and support my being AWOL!!!!
At the moment, I'm sewing, but it is delightful liturgical work with fabric I almost drool on, so it's all good!
From one Gel-Slinger to another...

Thanks Terra!

Yes, I am doing what I love, and I just need about three more hours in the day so I can do EVERYTHING that I love~~which includes blogging more! :-)
Now back to the sewing.....

What a wonderful problem to have, Anne! Keep feasting away! I always find it funny that no matter how full I am...if I smell something yummy...it seems to make me hungry again...haha! I hope your air remains filled with yumminess :D

Beautiful art....and sewing next? Can't wait to see! I'm having a little celebration over at my blog...I'd love it if you could join us....

Don't worry, the deadline's not til the 31st....just thought I'd tell you now ;P

My best,
Cameron

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Cameron!

Oh, I shall have to pop over for the celebration; all celebrations on blogs are GOOD! :-)
Things just have worked well right now; I am very thankful and enjoying the work.
Feast or famine...
(my middle could do with a little *famine*...ahem...)

Great to see happy and optimistic work coming from storm country. At least 'creating' gives you respite from that other world.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Yes Jo, and it looks like we're tuning up for *another* evening...don't have time for all that wind and rain and whoop-de-do~~~I gotta work! ;-D

Hi Anne,
Well done on two bright colourful canvases.
They look fabulous!
I'm glad you're too busy with making art.
Great for the soul.
Happy creating,

Hey Anna,

It is a good feeling to be busy, and busy doing something that I actually LOVE doing! LOL!!! (there is always the other stuff I do not even like that keeps me busy....)
Wish I could have gotten the color balance a bit better; the colors are really rich.

Ooo... just look at them colors!! (O.O)

I'm glad you finished it because it looks gorgeous, Anne! Now, I don't know about you, but Missing in Art is probably the best way to go missing at all. So you just keep on creating and save the blog hopping for later. Not like we're going anywhere! Hehehe... oxx

What a great piece!!! Not a problem for ignoring us!! We all understand!! You just keep producing the art work!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Amalia,

Did you have your sunglasses on??? LOL!!!
I have had a ball working with these bright, fun colors, and then using a dark to bring them all in line a bit. (not much)
Yes, I think we both know that this kind of MIA is the best there is! :-)

Nom nom nom nom! What a delicious feast you are having here! The little bleeding hearts make me giddy with delight. And blow me over, I'm so impressed with your productivity! Wow! Go go go go go!

any one who paints bleeding hearts with such joy does not need to apologize for being missing!

i don't know why, anne, but when i saw these i imagined myself in a dark movie theatre and THESE came on the big screen! oh joy!

it is so good to have a good purpose, yes? enjoy the love....

We just want our Anne to be happy and it sounds like you are enjoying your work. A happy Annie is a good Annie and we don't have to be ducking those Chuck Taylors flying around when you aren't happy (she says as she ducks;-)

Love the new work, btw. It seems to reflect your current contentment.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Bella!

I am working as fast as my little hands will go! ACK! (which is good, it keeps me out of trouble....somewhat! LOL!)
I was happy with the bleeding hearts~~wasn't sure how they would turn out, and they are such a delicate flower; the image can easily be ruined.
Off to the salt mines again! ;-D

Hey Karen,

I think it is the shape of the image and of course my dark BG that help to give that theater affect to it all.....they looked great when I loaded the photo, and honestly, considerably different than here in the studio.
But I think I am going to need at least one day off pretty soon...hahaha!
Otherwise, all is well!

Hey Jan,

Ah-hahahahaha!!!!
When you start speaking about me in third person, I know I am IN TROUBLE! :-D
And now it's more Doc Martens, over my Chucks, so it probably would be a good idea for me to stay happy and not throw one of those.....
Besides, they are just TOO EXPENSIVE to throw.
Maybe I will wear Chucks today....hmmmmmmm.....

I hope Mother Nature settles down....

On a personal note - off to "My World" - the world of Opera.....tonight - first Piano Staging for "Siegfried"!!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Robin,

I do too, and probably for the same reason! ;-) And I've had a few myself in life.....just used some plaster to patch 'em up! heehee!
Have fun with the Opera tonight~~I bet it will be grand!

Hey Corrine,

This is really much more intense colorwise IRL. I could NOT get the shade of red to come up no matter what~~but loved how it turned out!
