A Quick Check In......

Despite my best efforts to utterly incapacitate myself with the J.D. the other day, I am still alive.....

.....peeking in, feeling a little blurred around the edges, but back on two feet.
I am off to a day of catching up and (omg) fighting the Grocery Zombies! ACK!
So you get a pretty picture and I get, well, a version of Dante's  "Inferno". I'm pretty sure grocery shopping is somewhere around the 7th circle of Hell......
Hopefully tomorrow I will be back with a somewhat art-related post. At least vaguely art related.
A bit.
Somewhat.
;-)
No promises!
This is the time of year life starts kicking into crazy-gear and I am like the little hamster in the wheel; running as fast as I can and not getting very far!
Wishing you an artful day......with no Grocery Zombies!

Pax....

I was lucky enough to fight the grocery zombies two days this week!!!
Give yourself a break before you get back on that JD ~ JD weather is approaching fast.
After your visit with the zombies, kick back, hit the couch, and have a glass of wine! It's Friday!!!
Great photo! I really like this one.

I have put off the food shopping as long as possible.....omgosh....it is just brutal! ;-D
Thanks on the photo; had literally a few seconds to get the shot before the sun was obscured by a cloud and everything changed....
Have a good one---TGIF!!!

I used to garden but the soil is hard clay and my body refuses to do it anymore, and how I miss it.

Cell phones in the aisles, carts blocking the flow, beastie people who can't seem to be remotely kind, what happened to manners anyway? Fights at the deli counter too...grocery shopping could be the new reality TV, which I don't watch anyway....LOL. I will have to visualize rotting faces falling off from now on.....xox Corrine

DH is kind of a bull in the china shop sometimes in the morning, so usually I am up before sunrise.

You are so funny. I don't mind grocery shopping if my husband isn't with me or directing me as to what to get. I look around and chat with other customers, buy a treat for myself and feel like I've done my socializing for a while. Hope you survive!

Hey Freebird,

Normally it's not too horrid---this week just had too many things going on to get it done at a quiet time, when the *nice* people are out and you can sort of enjoy the trip. (and no, I never enjoy taking DH because I generally run him over with the cart a dozen times...)
But FRIDAYS....ay-yi-yi......it's a full contact sport! LOL!
I am HOME!!! With FOOD!!! WHOOO-HOOO!!! ;-D

Well done, you survived! We have to vote today (compulsory in Australia) so I'll probably be experiencing voters' angst in the crowds, in the rain. Still, I appreciate that we do have to vote and consider it a privilege to have my voice heard, even if I already know I won't be particularly happy with the way it turns out.

Love the Grocery Zombie image... sort of Shaun of the Dead inspired, zombies with trollies all converging in the fresh meat section... think I'd head for the fruit & veg if I were you ;)

Janet Ghio said...

I'm with you on the grocery shopping!! Once long ago, i used to like to go--now-bleeh-would rather be making art or having piles of money to buy all the good stuff at the grocery!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

I hear you Carol. I think even though it is a privilege to vote, the frustration is knowing a good percentage of the populace won't be represented.
The same here.....maybe I had nothing to whine about with the Grocery Zombies.... ;-)

Hey 'Shelle,

That was exactly what I was thinking of when I did the post! All I could see in my head were lines of people and me running though the center of them with a grocery cart! LOL! (yeah, it's pretty strange in my head...)

Hey Janet,

I would rather just sit on my duff and make art---AND---have someone else do the grocery business for me! (they can cook too if they're good....I do enjoy cooking when I have the time)
I liked the stores when they were much smaller and friendlier, and I didn't have to haul things a country mile....

Remain calm my dear lady...I wait until the refrigerator is almost a deserted island...I avoid the store with a passion because it always takes longer than I would wish. I learned today Sunday night is the best time to shop...from Dr. Oz O:)! Have a great weekend! We have snow arriving tomorrow! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who HATES grocery shopping. Hubby loves it and I'm only too happy to let him have it. See how giving I am?

Finally, I can catch up on blogs!

I'm cooking salmon as I write this so I may be running back and forth to the kitchen.

Funny, my husband said he'd do the grocery shopping today but changed his tune by the afternoon. I didn't go!! I just can't bear it sometimes, especially when I feel creative.

Wonderful photo. very moody!

Now I'm off to read about your diamonds :)
