The Blog Mistress.....

....Has been a bit preoccupied the past few days. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it and unfortunately that somebody is ME......
I think I would rather make a trip to the dentist because I know when THAT will be done as opposed to the business of cleaning. I am not a Domestic Diva in any fashion other than being a good cook and even that is part time. So when Spring rolls around with all the remnants of Winter, oh, YUCK!!!
I had foolishly believed I could squeeze in a small tutorial while I was doing the house but really now, would I get back in there?
NO.
So I will stand tall, be firm, and continue the task at hand and all the while be thinking;

Well.....you know....*wink wink*......I'd really rather be making art....but that ranks a close second!
Don't tell me it hasn't crossed your mind when the sweeper bag blows up and there is a mountain of accumulated dirt everywhere, including IN the sweeper. I'm just not good at this and the thought that the sweeper bag should change itself is always in my mind. It just makes sense.
So until a bit later, when the blog mistress has it together a bit more here, El Milagro will remain a bit quiet.
*SOB*
No pithy comments, no rants about Blogger and it's plethora of glitches, no art.
*WAH!*
But I shall return.
SOON.
(Oh, in the meantime, I switched the music from auto-play to manual--see the top of the sidebar to get the cool jazz track that keeps me sane.....well, sort of)

Pax....

I'm with you!! We are having company this weekend, so that means that i have to dust instead of just drawing pictures in it!! Where are the servants when we need them????

Marilyn, if I don't start NOW, Summer will suddenly be here and I'll still have the mess! LOL!
It seems we never really get Spring; it just is a good name for the bi-annual boring out of the house!

I am so far behind that the dust bunnies have risen up and formed an army. They have me cornered in the dining room, Anne! Send help! Or just send wine! lol! You are a better woman than me. I am on strike. Maybe I'll get around to it this summer. It doesn't seem to bother one person here (except ME!) anyway! :) Be brave! xoxo Pam

Cleaning??? That must be an alien invention right? Love the old photos - woman with beer- isn't beer required before cleaning? LOL as always from your posts.....xox Corrine

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Pam, I just vote for the wine for both of us and maybe the dust bunny army can learn how to use the vacuum!!! Now, I would PAY to see that!!!
LOL!!!
Here's to NOT cleaning.....

Corrine,

I am sure somewhere in the *Good Wife Encyclopedia* that there is a page on "Prerequisites for effective cleaning" and a good tall cold one is mentioned. (or two, depending on the mess.....)
I should look that up... ;-)

Cleaning? I do it just before company comes. Well, occasionally I have to do some if company doesn't come for months down the road but I do as little as possible. I have two sisters who love to clean house. I enjoy their homes but couldn't possibly live there. See you when you are all done.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well, cleaning is on my list...right about knocking out an old sewer line (yes, I have done that) or cleaning the sump pit.
It is not a *want to* by any means....and I don't understand people who love to clean.
There has to be something slightly askew....

you poor thing, did the sweeper bag really blow up!?#!!%&?? I am sure you needed a six pac after that, maybe my brother would do? Put your feet up and dream on, girl.

Just another gray and dreary day here, nothing to entice me towards a cleaning frenzy.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Jan, yes it did, and it was after cleaning up bird feathers, seed and other little gifts they deposit on the floor. I had to get my second sweeper (studio and garage) to suck all the mess OUT of the first sweeper inside and in the filter intake. I was afraid it was ruined......
It still sucks, and so does cleaning! LOL!!!

i suck at cooking :) and of course cleaning is NOT my favourite past time as well ... i have this funny feeling that all artists homes are like a warzone ... or worse, like MDM's studio :) becos we rather do something more worthwhile ... need i say what...

happy Spring (cleaning ;P) my fren :)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Audrey, I whole-heartedly agree!!!

Hey Luthien,

I can honestly say my SINK does not look like MDM's studio sink! (thank heavens!!!)
HOWEVER....there might be a few other areas that are first cousins. ;-D
Yes, I think artists would rather be making art. And getting distracted from that, well, it's not a good thing! We get really GRUMPY.

Anne I love your sense of humor!! So much like mine! I hear ya on the cleaning thing. I hate it! And my little pug sheds like crazy so I might as well attach a vacuum to my hip! lol ANd cooking, not my fav either, not so good at that! My hubby is a neat nick and to his dismay I am not! For sure would rather be making art! These photos are priceless! love them! lol

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Cathy,

Photos courtesy of Tack-o-Rama, quotes courtesy of my warped brain!
omg....I hate cleaning.....I hate it! And I get cleaned up around the birds and then it seems to be a contest to see who can throw the most mess back out on the floor!
As for the rest of the house, well, I NEED A MAID!

I love these photos...I hate cleaning but I love a clean house...I want a wife.

I don't have birds, just the tiny grand kidlets who make a big mess the moment I clean it up. If I didn't have visitors now and then I'm sure I'd never do housework but then I do make a token effort. I think it's the greatest waste of time in the world - no sooner than the place sparkles, something happens to destroy it all. I'm with you, Anne!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Terra,

I am *sure* it is very unhealthy for us, having to breath in all that cleaner, etc.
Dust MUST be the better of the two options! LOL!!!

I just had a new door hung for the screened in porch and am having the porch painted. All visitors will be entertained on the porch this year, come rain, sleet, hail or snow. Spring cleaning is done!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Mary Helen,

I want a wife too! LOL!!! Especially one that can iron the way I like clothing and bedding pressed! (yeah, that's gonna happen....)
Glad to put a smile on your face!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh Carol,

I soooooo agree. I get one spot clean and another is dirty. Living in the country, I could spend every day cleaning just to break even.
Not in this life.....
I don't think I would clean either if I didn't have allergies, and believe me, I don't do it very often! (of course afterward I run right back to the studio and ignore it all again! LOL!!!)

OOoooooo Ima.....

That sounds WONDERFUL! I need to get the porch enclosed---then they would never have to venture into the house! (except artists, who really don't care...)

OMG, can I ever relate! I am a reluctant house diva, and by reluctant I mean kicking and screaming reluctant. Now, don't understand me wrong, I love to cook and bake, but could someone else please clean the kitchen, vacuum and mop the floors? And windows, while they are at it... Except it's all me, so it gets done when ... well, when it gets done! Right now, I am sporting my apron, but sitting on the couch with a beer reading blogs - that's my kind of house work!! Love, Silke

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Sounds good to me Silke!
I had my beer with some delicious home made Ruebens for dinner!
Now waiting for the fruit to macerate before putting it on the amaretto cake for dessert.
And I'm in my apron too....looking for used Tim Holtz stamps! LOL!!!
It's housework....I'm in the house, I'm working!

Anne would NEVER do a tutorial on cleaning!!! LOL! As if I had enough info and experience that I could.....muwhahahahahahaha!

I was wondering where the jazz was!

My husband cleans way better than I do because he moves the furniture. Not me...bad back, blah blah. I just sweep around and under things the best I can. But after he moves the furniture to clean, he always forgets to put it back!! So when I thank him for doing a nice job, I always have to say BUT....you didn't put things back. Kind of a backhanded compliment!

I had a nasty, crany-pants day when you were cleaning. I'm better now but way behind in commenting! Oh well, I just try to show up!
