A Most Delightful Day.........

Yesterday was delightful......I had a day to decide what I wanted to do (other than the cleaning of snow off the drive!) as it was my 51st birthday.
Fifty one.
Wow!
I've been here tormenting people for over half a century now--it's official! I had some lovely surprises from blog friends and other internet friends (one pictured above), e-mails and calls, and a quiet evening with hubby, enjoying a few movies and generally stuffing ourselves to oblivion.
There was studio time and time to get a light fixture installed that I had been waiting and waiting for a large chunk of minutes/hours to get 'er done. (and I did, even though it was a bear of a job!) Lots of time to contemplate while working.
And I came to the conclusion things couldn't be better, nor could I be happier. Often we count our worth and happiness by possessions and balances in the bank, who we know and how grand the area is where we live, what we drive or what we wear but ultimately---I think---it is the wonderful people in our lives that make us wealthy. And if that is the case, I am wealthy beyond words.
I am rich in heart and soul and nothing trumps that.
Thank you my dear friends.....and you know who you are!!!

And the aches and pains must love me too...... >:-[

Well Happy Birthday you very young chick. And a Sagittarian to boot so am I. My BD was Nov.29 but way older turned 69 ouch... But as you say I feel wonderful too. We will be going to a party tonight and will sure miss our Jeannie there, this is going to be a touch time for us without her. So happy you had a wonderful day. Hugs

Hey Bunny,

You know, I miss Jean and sometimes, I see her e-mail addy still in my addresses and almost click on it. I bet she's up there laughing at me on that one.
Hope you have a good time tonight, because you know she would want you to!

Happy Birthday! I think the 50's are great. We finally just let ourselves be who we are and enjoy the smaller things that really count. See, you've started already! (I turned 57 last month so I know this stuff, lol). Hope the whole year is great for you.

AAAAACCCCKKK! I have not been blogging much and only have been following my family in FB and what do I miss? THE BIGGEST DAY in ANNELOCKARDLAND!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST ANNE, still your birthday since in my family we celebrate for a whole month!

Very beautiful flowers. I love flowers! They brighten up anything. Wow! 51! That is a simple majority and a year past antique. HAHAHHAHA! Join the club. Do you have your AARP card yet? Gives you discounts at hotels. I flash mine when I check in. HAHAHAHAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN!!!

TSUP! TSUP!!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Ces--

AH-hahahaha!!!!! AARP has been after me since I was 35 and no, I don't have my card! (altho I suppose I should)
I haven't been on the computer as much as I had been; work presses and I need to get things finished before Christmas. I need a few 48 hour days.....
We just kind of keep the celebration rolling through January, since that is our anniversary, so I still have more days to go!

TSUP! TSUP!

Okay, I got my replies backwards....Freebird! Yes, I had no fear of turning 50 and have found this first year of the decade has unloosed even more feistyness than before! (which is frightening, actually...haha!)
I have no qualms with age---it's better than the other option!

Glad you had a good day and I certainly agree with you regarding what our true treasures are in life. You are one of mine! Happy Birthday!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

You definitely are one of mine Jan, and I am sorry I was sooooo groggy on the phone last night! I was so full of pizza and cheesecake, and then I was kinda snoozing; it must have been like trying to talk to a half-wit! I could not get totally awake!
Thanks for the call---it's always good to hear your voice!

DUDE!! I missed your birthday this year...I'm so sorry. I was busy yesterday making Cranberry-Orange mini-loaves, so I didn't frequent anything on the computer except cleaning out stuff...ran all sorts of stuff to clean out those little cookies (the inedible type) and other little creeters that lurk in our hard drives!!

Glad you had a great day and am sending you many good vibes and prayers...oops, I'm a bit skeptical now when people say they'll pray for me...tell them to please don't, I've heard the song!!! LOL My prayers are good!! So sending you vibes and prayers for good health, love, laughter and all kinds of great stuff!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU OL' FART!!

Loves ya,
G

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

LOL!!! ROFLMAO!!!
That would have been the same greeting my Dad would have said---ah-hahahahaha!!!
Yesterday was nice but the whole month has been a blur and I am trying to keep caught up with work, so it's hit and miss for me on the computer too. I probably need to de-cookie, etc on mine. TY for the reminder!

Happy late Birthday Anne! Wow, that's a great number. You might say that I've been there, done that and oooh la la and so forth. Never mind the number, they mean nothing, what does mean something is that your days have been lived to the fullest and you Scythe Woman seem to be right where you want to be at this time in your life. Enjoy and sorry I'm late. Take care and enjoy this day too.

Yes, I am very happy where I am, even with all the calamities that seem to befall me. Scythe-Woman shall NOT buckle under!!! LOL!!! (actually, that vision of me is probably the closest to my true nature....and I'm not sure if it's good or bad! heehee!)
I should have posted yesterday but got busy and the brain had it's own agenda....you know the story!

Happy happy birthday Anne! What a beautiful post. True words. I love being 53. That half century mark seemed so freeing somehow. Enjoy your wealth, we all have much to be thankful for. Now just glide through December on sugar plum wings, Pam
(Wish I could send you that sweet fireman for your birthday but if that was possible I might have to keep him for myself, heehee.)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Pam,

If I had that fireman here, I could have just melted all the snow on the driveway by drooling!!! Ah-hahahaha!!! Oh yeah, he was a hottie.....
Ahem!
Yes---the 50's seem to be exceptionally freeing; for better or worse! ;)
