600 Posts And A Day To Reflect

One year ago today.....

.....I ventured out into a cold frosty morning.....

.....off on a journey.....

.....that I was sure, but unsure of.....

......many times along the way wishing I was home in my warm little nest. Because at approximately this time a year ago, I was in having a total hip replacement.
While we all have been agog at the weather THIS year, it was about the same last year too. I remember shivering in the cold when I arrived at the hospital, then walking in and smelling the heavenly scent of freshly brewed coffee.
Leave it to me.......a coffee memory!
And that brings me to this morning, as I sit with a warm cup at my side, pecking out the 600th post here on El Milagro and wondering how time passes so darned fast.
Six hundred.
Either I have a lot to say or a lot to blither about! (most likely the second! LOL!) I now have 147 followers which I never thought would happen, I don't blog as often simply because I have been swamped with work, I have met the nicest people (and a very nice, if not ornery, BUG) and I am hoping that in the new year I will have more art and less filler.
I have no apologies for posts filled with photos; having my photography back again is fun and helps fill the creative well as I deplete it at warp speed. I would, though, like to have more of my art on here simply because it would reflect the fact that I have rearranged my schedule to allow more art time. If I have a resolution--and I might add that I never make them--it will be that.
More time for art.
More time to spend in the studio creating.
More posts with art photos and maybe even a few tutorials again.
I had wanted to have a give away in conjunction with this post, but hey kiddies, I am up to my ears in finishing up details on work so maybe there will be a giveaway after the New Year starts; a just because, welcome 2011 type thing!
The church hanging that has gone on forever gets it's hanging sleeve today and will be done.
A piece of art I had to work on at the same time with a possibility (not probability) of inclusion in a new book is finished except for the photos and artists statement--ACK!--and then will be sent off into cyberspace.
Sometimes I have to take a serious look around and see all I have accomplished since this time last year, and you know, overall, I am very happy. I'm going a mile a minute and doing what I love and what more could anyone ask for?
Thank you to all who have come along on this crazy journey called my blog. I have to admit there are times I wonder why you read, but I'm not complaining!!!
Here's to 600 more.......or just to good art, good friends and good times!  ;-D

Congratulations on 600 Posts, Anne! And on being SO close to finishing the banner. Your posts have all been delightful whether there was art included or not. We keep coming back so that must tell you something! Your art, your photographs, and your words are always enjoyable!!
I hope you can slow down now and devote some time to ART. I plan to do the same in the new year!

Thanks Audrey...I plan to have more art time next year. Have signed up for an on-line class and that will force me into not putting it off for things like plowing or other things around here that actually can WAIT.
Art can't---it's time to go back to that full swing and see what happens!
Glad you've been here for the long haul!

Wow, 600 posts. I wonder how many I have done; I forget to look. I was thinking from reading another blog (Sketchbook Challenge) to make just one resolution and that would be to make an appointed time to show up to my sketchbook. I don't normally make resolutions but if I do this will be it. Looking forward to seeing more art and more photos in the new year. I enjoy both!

Hey Deb,

YES!!! I do have a lot to say~~hahahahaha!!!! ;D
I am glad I found you too, because I never would have been able to wreck the beer truck, and that has become a proud moment in my blog-life! *wink*
Here's to you Santa-Deb!

Hey Freebird,

Yes, sometimes we just have to push everything else aside for a measured amount of art time. I have let the ball drop on that one, but next year, it changes. (actually, I am planning it all in my little head now!)
Here's to both of us finding the generosity to give ourselves the gift of ART!

Congratulations, pal!! But if you think about it, 600 posts is no big deal for someone who ALWAYS has something to say!!!! LOL

Well, even I can't say I have that much to say, and you know, I too ALWAYS have something to say!! As a matter of fact, if I don't get to it today, I'll have to say it tomorrow!!

Continue with your great blog, comments on FB and any other pearls that role off your lovely tongue!!!!

Loves ya,
G

Ah Georgina.....you are the TOTAL ENABLER!!!!
Sometimes I think people should just tell me to SHUT UP. (not that it would work.....)
Humor in life is priceless; I hope I don't set mine down somewhere and forget where I put it.....

Well I'm glad I met you and can continue reading your posts to come, whenever they come. Congrats on the 600th post. I too was jotting down things that were done this year. I love doing that, and actually all I really have to do is track back on my posts because I'm always posting about what I do or have done, tee hee! :D Continue with what you do and I hope your new hip after a year is a hippity hop!:D Take care.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Gloria,

Glad I found you and your blog too! As for the hippity hopping....that's what they all WORRY about me doing! HA! (yes, I have done things that I think I really was NOT supposed to do, but so far so good!)
Enjoy the bounty of that delightful orchard of yours!

I recently hit my 600th but it took me 4 years!!! hahaha! That means you talk 4 times more than I do ;)

I love the photos. Wow, the third one day would make a spectacular winter greeting card.

I'm thrilled the church hanging is nearly done. I think that piece added some grey hairs (at the very least!) God better tack on a couple of years as a thank you ;)

I need to make more time for art too, but mine comes in the form of just doing it...I have the time but not the inspiration. I'm too alone out here. That needs to change!

Congrats on the 600th~I'll be one of many coming back for more.

Hey Lolo!

Yes, I think it is obvious I talk whether I have anything worth saying or not! :D It just doesn't slow me down.....
I am right now moving the sewing table so I can slap the hanging up on it and attach the sleeve~~~I am elated! But I think all the foul words I have said probably cancel out any perks....heehee!
One thing I have learned is not to wait on inspiration; I always keep canvas to prime, etc....little nit-noid things that are art related and keep me active. That seems to be when things perk to the top of the brain puddle, basically because I am not TRYING to make it happen. I just am going to allocate a certain amount of time for that per week.
And hey, inspiration and support is as close as your e-mail! ♥

Congratulations Anne, that is a ton of posts. How do you do it in such a short period of time?
I am so glad you do though!
Thank you Anne for sharing your life with all of us and being a light in the darkness.
Love and hugs dear one.

Hey Marie!

Sometimes I think I have OCD....gotta blog, gotta blog, gotta blog...... :D
On the other hand, it is a great link to wonderful people everywhere, and keeps me from feeling so isolated.
I blog, therefore, I am! haha!
I shall try and remain *light*!!!!

Anne, are you saying you are chatty? Really? :) If you are, then you just keep slinging those words around, sista, and we will keep the men with those funny jackets off of your front yard (well, I'll keep them off of your yard, if you keep them off of mine!). Congrats on the 600! xox

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

HA!HA!
It's a deal Pam, altho I don't think they could catch us in the first place, and secondly, if they did they would release us within 5 minutes...... :)
I mean, men don't like to listen to women, now do they???
Off to finish the hanging.....and not ME either!

Glad to have met you too Cathy!

It has been fun watching you work in mixed media, and that sense of *ah-ha!* when you post got me thinking, I really need to schedule my time a little better so I can do more art!
And there will always be photos, as I love the chase for just one...more...shot.... ;D

600 posts is indeed a milestone and it's been a year since the big 'O'? I missed the initial turmoil over that and must have started reading your blog just after that...which means I've had a whole year of fun. Your humour, your photos, your art, (and yes, your rants) are ALL eagerly anticipated and somehow (to quote I don't remember who) a day without Anne is a day without sunshine.

I am blessed to have found you in cyberspace! I love starting my day with you and your ramblings/rants/ general good thoughts. Can't wait to see pics of the wall hanging!!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey M.A.

You are a brave soul to include my RANTS in the list of things to read! LOL!!!
My father used to tell me, "That mouth of yours is going to get you into trouble!"
Wonder what he would have thought of the blog??? ;-D

Hey Linda,

It may be next week before I can get pics of the wallhanging---everything is still on the table and I can't get a photo that way, plus I have to get some of the mess cleaned up so I don't trip and kill myself. It is pretty wicked in the studio at the moment! ;)
No rant this morning....too tired! HA!
