The Glorious Glow of "After-Storm"

We had a surprise thundershower late in the afternoon the other day; when the storm had left and the sun began to shine again while setting through the moisture rich atmosphere, Mother Nature put on a color show.
There has been no retouching of color in these photos.....this is what it was really like as the shades and hues undulated, changed, glowed, sparkled and left me running trying to capture everything at once.
Enjoy!

The ultimate paintbrush, don't you think?

Oh, if only that color could last. God is always very busy painting in the Fall. Perhaps it is His favorite season.
Beautiful photos, Anne.

Girls, I agree. I wanted the colors to last and last---they were so amazing.
To the right, everything was gold, to the left, pink and purple, then behind me it finally faded to an amazing peachy-gold!
Still, the camera could not capture what the eye sees.....

Beautiful photos. Wish I could drop by for the weekend and soak up some of the midwestern autumn. I'm missing my Ohio/Indiana roots.

Such beautiful scenery, Madam Gracious! I always like looking at your photos of nature... It's like you were having a moment of pause in between those panicky neurotic moments! *wink wink*

(^_^) I hope you're still emerging every once in a while from under that pile of fabrics!! oxox

Mary, I tell you, we are having what I think will be a short but intense Fall, and it is lush!

Amalia, I forgot I was supposed to be Madam Gracious! (I totally failed the past couple of days...hahaha!)
The photos are proof I emerge from the fabric pile now and then....but I continue to cherish my utterly neurotic moments! :-D

You capture so well these colors. I know seeing a photo is not the same as seeing it in person but your photos are wonderful for invoking my own memories of seeing such natural beauty. Thanks for the memories;-)

Jan, I think it is all the camera. I know I have whined about maybe a new one, but then I look at what this one does with little to no thought---just the framing and light---and wonder if I would use anything else! ;)

Glorious!! I love skies like that - especially when the clouds are all stormy and then the golden sun rays break through!! Hope you are having a great day! I miss you!!! Love, Silke

Cathy Bueti said...

Wow Anne! Love these! The clouds look as if they were painted! :)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

They did Cathy....it was one of those situations where I thought "No one will believe these are the real colors....."
All I did with the photos was put a border on and a very small vignette option to tone down the white border......

I guess God does know how to paint better than some of the masters, doesn't he! Beautiful shots!

I know He makes colors the camera can't even capture, and that is amazing! I love just standing in that glow.....it is so surreal!

These photos are simply AMAZING!!! I am in awe of GOD and His fabulous artwork. Only He could paint skies like this. Girl don't get me started with the spiders in the basement!!! AAAAAHGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! I can't stand it. Apparently, a whole mess of them live in my house. I am always cleaning up some little cob web that has been left for me like it's some great gift or something he he he he! Oh but you make me holler with each comment! Love you girly!

Thanks girls--

I have more photos just of clouds--they have been amazing lately. Bluest skies and white clouds of all shapes and sizes. It makes me want to be like Peter Pan and FLY!
Vanessa---I am *sure* I breed the biggest spiders here; those huge brown hairy ones. I really only like Spider and his Trio. He's different! ;D
Off to face the day....feeling a bit run over.
