I just have one leg; I was born that way but it doesn't slow me down much and I came home to a special Bird Penthouse with fitted wooden shelves to walk on and big fat soft rope perches. I have nice ceramic dishes for food and water, an angled ladder covered with a piece of wood, so I can explore the bottom of the new house, a perch with a birdie friend (he doesn't say anything, very quiet; I think he's shy) a daisy mirror with a bell and of course a cuttlebone. I'm not bragging, just describing the nice place I moved to!
And I found I had a soft, cushie, hand knit Birdie Bed with a nice little snuggle corner, which was much better than the accomodations at the pet store. ;-) I know we all hate moving, but this has been a good move for me, and I have heard something I never heard before; I think it is called Jazz? I like that!
The only problem is at night, when I am covered in my special flannel wrap with all the Jazz Notes on it, there has been *something* running about and turning the computer on and making noise. Not a lot mind you, but I know something is up. I am wondering if it is that Milo character Anne has mentioned......
Well, I just wanted to stop by a second and introduce myself as the Studio Mascot, and---this is secret---my initials, S.P. also stand for Special Parakeet. Kind of like the old TV shows with Secret Agent Men. (I haven't seen those but I've heard of them...)
Okay, now I'll give the blog back to Anne, ummmmm, MOM, and hope you all have a really Big Budgie Day!!!
Peep....

Oh god! No kidding. This one is really for the birds!
Why do we keep them? All they do is poop. At least this one won't have more than 500 poop/day!
Well Ces, lets figure....a parakete voids approximately once every 12 minutes, and there's 60 minutes in an hour, and 24 hours in a day (but I don't know if they slow down at night...) :D
I keep these little guys because I love them and this one needed someone who love him, give a little extra care and would spoil him rotten.
I fit that bill!

great math lesson...I can hear the kids now....Miss, everything you talk about comes down to poop....
Loved the entry!
what a handsome creature! pets are such great company, and i'm glad sweet pea has found a good home-
LOL!!!
Linda, you do the figuring---I seriously want a round answer to this one! Since I am the cleaner-upper....it would be interesting!
Hey, it's one way to get them to figure in an entertaining manner!

Hey Marianne,
When I had the two out here, they would scream at each other because it echoed and then they would try and OUT-SCREAM each other...so in the house they went, which works better. Sweet Pea seems to have a small voice.
SO FAR.
If you know what I mean! ;D
It is nice to have the company again, and gice a home to a special birdie!

I LOVE Sweet Pea. Look at that cute little face! She is so adorable, I would have taken her home, too. I am so glad YOU did instead - lol!!! I have so many cats here, that life for a cute little bird would be perilous indeed. Have a great weekend, my friend! I will catch up with you soon - off to my ma's. xox!! Pam
Welcome to the blogging world Sweet Pea!! You are a true beauty!!
Have a Great Weekend!
Love,
Marilyn
Hey Pam,
Yes, I think the cat/bird combo might not be good...LOL!! Well, the cats would enjoy it. ;)
Good luck with your mom today, and I am having Bird-Mom-Angst ever time the little one tries to fly. I have to learn to let go...LOL!!

Hey Marilyn,
Sweet Pea says thanks and may be in future blog posts. Right now, he/she is getting settled and we have finally heard one loud PEEP! I forgot how loud those little voices are....LOL!!

Sweet! Sweet! Sweet! Sweet Pea is precious and you have a dear heart!
Milo probably doesn't appreciate having someone else in the room with him at night. No doubt, you'll hear about it. (:

Hey Audrey,
I think Milo is looking for someone else to get into mischief with. I need to set up a night-cam out here.....but I'm afraid of what I might find on the film.....I know he has not found the John Deere yet because it is not crashed into the cabinets or car in the garage.....oy!

awwww and awwwwww again! I just want to reach into the monitor screen and scoop him/her up and cuddle. I don't think I've seen a budgie with such lovely colours. Sweet Pea is a PERFECT name!!
Yep M.A.
How could I resist??? (but good luck picking up and cuddling....LOL!!)
I'm going to have to slowly introduce some toys at a low level, and maybe something a bit higher too.
I wish I could get a pic of the cobalt spot on it's back---beautiful! Just like the sky!

awww, I'm in love♥ with S.P. ;)
I'm so glad you crossed paths!

Lolo
You did need another bird and now you need just one more to help keep Sweet Pea company when you can't be in the studio. Milo doesn't count since he seems to be mostly sleeping anyway. She is awfully cute. Or he.
Pssst Lolo,
I'm kinda in love with Sweet Pea too! :)
I am soooo glad we stopped in that store!

Well Jan, I can't put another one in the cage, so I think I'll have to stop at three, and I'll be the company for S.P.!!!
And Milo.....
I think he is UP to something....
Just sayin'.

Sweet Pea is beautiful, Anne, and it sounds like he's lovin' his new pad.
Hi Serena,
I am thinking S.P. is making a quick adjustment to life in the Penthouse.... ;D
Which makes me happy!

What a sweetheart!! And what a sweetheart you are to provide a good home! I ended up with a lovebird once! Poor bird sat huddled in the corner of the cage. I felt so sorry for him, he came home with me that day. i still have the receipt! Tell S.P. to enjoy the new home and all the love he'll have!!!
Robbie, S.P. *is* a sweetheart! It is amazing how in the short time, even today, the bird has figured how to get everywhere in the cage without problems. And now when I talk sweet his little chin whisker feathers poof out!
Okay, I'm the one being trained....sigh.... ;)

Lucky was the day you walked into SP's life. What a house he has! Welcome home SP!
S.P. is just getting settled VERY WELL!!! HAs checked all the perchs, and I am amazed that he can crawl right up the side of the cage.
I think I'm the lucky one... ;)

Hi SP :)
I'm sure you will love living with your new mum. Sounds like you have a lovely cozy bird home :)
Hi Shelley,
I am enjoying my new home---Mom feeds me good and Dad dotes, eventhough he pretends he isn't. I got to escape again this morning! (but I can't do it too often!)
Life is good here!
Love and peeps,
Sweet Pea
Now why couldn't I have had such a sweet addition in my household. You know what I woke up to last Saturday? On my carport? A dog, a very, big dog! A German shepherd! Wanna trade?!!!
Ummmmm.....thank you but no! LOL!!! I love this little guy who is learning to get around very well and finally singing. A sweet little voice! (and *he/she* doesn't seem to think they have ANY handicap!)
Besides, there are less dropping from my little addition! :D
