What Fun, What Fun......

Let's see..which part did I enjoy most these past few days? Being steam boiled, baked, or having to get my broom and the flying monkeys out last night???
You know, Indiana is the PITS.
I will be back with a *real* post tomorrow or Tuesday, depending if I get done fighting with roofers, AT&T which cannot provide me a phone line that works during wet weather, and oh yes, I have to do a promo video for a local Charity this week too......
Do any of you feel the need to comment? HA!

Pax....

Hi Anne,
So sorry you have had to deal with storms again!! What amazing photos, though! Holy cow!!

Hang in there. We'll still be here.

Lotsa love! :)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

That pretty well describes it Lolo!!!
I got from my studio door out back to the front porch doing pics---it cut loose with the worst rain I had seen! Had to put the camera in my PANTS, wrap my shirt tight around everything and RUN!!!
LOL!!!
Where are the monkeys when you need them??? :D

That is sooooo funny!!!
Nope, it's RIGHT HERE---I can guarantee!
No NUTTIN!!! Trying to get anything fixed is a joke. I've been on AT&T since the 2nd of june. Yes, JUNE.
I figure by tomorrow, they'd better seek cover...

Hey CT,

I'll tell you one thing, this year has been an ADVENTURE.
Not a good one, but an ADVENTURE.
I think I am ready for some boredom.
And of course, the roof leaks right on the studio wall where I do commissions. I have all that covered with plastic and am at a standstill until said roofers GET HERE and fix the roof.
Ay-yi-yi......

Well, you know they say, "Always look on the bright side of life" (do do, do do, do do do do do do) I'm not sure what the bright side is here...You are still alive! That is a very good thing. Your roof leaks but at least you have one. What other jaunty saying can I throw at you?
Love from miss sunshine
P.S. that is one HELL of a black cloud! Did you generate it after the roof leaked and AT&T ignored you? again.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Jan,

Just wait till after my communique with AT&T tomorrow. That cloud is gonna look GOOD!!!! LOL!
Yes, we're okay, but dang. You pay for stuff and it's all for squat...
Okay, back to thinking up things to whine about! :D

I was just about to email you as I was worried since you hadn't posted anything. Very unlike you. I am glad that you are OK, but I am sorry you have so much crap to deal with. Things WILL get better ~ stay calm ~ have some wine. You are not alone ~ so many of us are suffering through this intense, intolerable HEAT!!!
Sending calming, happy thoughts your way!
We'll be here when you have the time and desire to be here.
Love you.

OMG, Anne, I would have had to to change my underwear if I'd gone outside with a sky like that to take pictures. I remember those skies from Michigan and Texas and did not enjoy them in either place. Too scary for me. Did I mention I'm a chicken when it comes to bad weather?!

We are having no storms at all and could use some of your rain. Send it here without the storms though...

Love, SIlke

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Audrey,

Having problems getting in to comment today...had to shut everything down...again!
I am thinking a tub of ice and the wine....yes??? :D

Hey Silke,

I was close! Of course, I was drenched when I got in the house...needed to change EVERYTHING but didn't.
Worn out today though from the stress and pressure change.
I'm thinking of a nap...hahaha!

Oh Anne, the storm clouds are very menacing and I sure hope you get your roof fixed quickly. Hugs from me in California.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh Terra, I hope it gets fixed too. It is metal, looks like shake shingles, so I can't do the work myself! If I could....well....we would not be having issues! LOL!!

Good Afternoon Anne Sweetie...
I love these photos that you captured. They are so MAGNIFICIENT. And to think you were there capturing this. I saw many of these types of clouds in Oklahoma when we lived there. We lived in tornado alley, and believe me plenty came out of clouds exactly like these. You did a wonderful job with the photography.

Now don't be to terribly hard on the AT&T guys tomorrow. I don't want them messing up your puter too. You know sometimes they fix one thing, and purposely break another.

I so hope the roofers get that work done, especially where the rain is leaking in the wall of your studio. You could have some major damage here, and that is scary.

You are going to have a GREAT Monday. What is the latest score with the little chipmunks? Are they giving you a hard time too?

Have a beautiful Sunday today. I hope no more rain for you.

Oh and before I forget, I LOVED your photo shoot pics. You are absolutely beautiful my friend. Just beautiful. The last photo, "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up." I loved it sweetie.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Sherry,

Thanksfully, the computer is NOT connected with the phone service! LOL!!! That is another can of worms all together. ;)
Yeah, I am a little tired of all these way-too-active clouds.....I'd just like some nice weather! Can I put in my order???
Your comment on the *Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!* was perfect!!! That TOTALLY explained the whole situation!!! it's a girl thing....

Those are some pretty ominous clouds!! I think Missouri could rival Indiana for heat and humidity--sauna city!!

Magpie's Mumblings said...

Your roof? What happened to your roof? Did I miss something? I must say that if I saw those clouds I certainly wouldn't be out taking pictures - I'd be hiding under the bed. You're a brave, brave woman!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well JAnet, I have to say I have come to the conclusion that I do NOT enjoy saunas at all! LOL! Especially the ones that come equiped with FREE STORMS.
I cannot remember a summer that has been this volatile since I was a child living at home---heatwave, but not all the severe weather too.
YIKES!!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

No M.A.---I am just like my Father--the worse the weather, the more he'd be out in it....it is a genetic defect!
The roof. Well, we have a metal roof, looks like shake shingles, and of course, I cannot work on it. I had suspected it was leaking for some time, as a piece of the drywall tape in my studio had come loose, but I could never be out here to catch it drip.
Anyway, the last piece of ridgecap that is right where the studio hooks onto the body of the house is loose, and I do mean LOOSE. I was hanging out the window duct taping it down, so when the storm hit we would not lose it. Now, the other thing I suspect is that the morons put the ridge vent in backwards---with the vents facing OUT to the west (where all our weather comes from) as opposed to facing IN to the body of the house, so the water can't get in....DUH? HELLO?
Sorry; I did a lot of roofing with Dad, and he is no doubt up there laughing his rear end off on this.
Plus I have called the people for TWO WEEKS and all I get is, well, we're trying to figure out when we can fix it......
I think Scythe-Woman needs to pay them a visit. ;)

Anne - I have MISSED you. I am glad the Flying Monkeys of Indiana have not swept you away from us. There is something weird about this summer...do not get me started. LOL! I hope it cools off, and the storms leave you alone. Me? I am happy you are back and posting! yay!! xoxo Pam

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well PAm, I have missed it too but damn! I have been useless with the heat, and I have the house as cold as a meat locker! (to better preserve my youthful look! har har!!!)
Don't keep your fingers crossed---I have a lot of contractors to fight with this week....I will try and at least blog and bitch! LOL!!

Sorry about the server; I hurt for you on that one. Had the power brown down the other night in the storm and cold-yanked the computer cord. Everything was okay....BUUUUUUUUUT.....phew!

Seriously, is that what it is called? My grandmother was one of those people who knew all those details....I'm good to know what day of the week it is.
Well, it is appropriately named. If you see someone flying by screaming....it's just me. :D

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Elena,

yes. I had bought that from a friend when he lost his job. I always promised him if he wanted to buy it back, I would only sell it to him---that it would be cared for and played well and loved.
One day out of the blue, I got *the call*. He had found work, which was GREAT, but it meant I had to stay true to my promise on the bass.
It was a Fender custom Lake Placid Blue metallic Jazz Bass--a U.S. made piece, and was perfectly tuned, balanced, set up---it was heaven to play.
But it is in a good home, so I can't grieve TOO much! <:)

Always need to comment...would explode if I didn't!! Still struggling with AT&T, a.k.a. Ma Bell? And you're having roofing problems with those storms??? Oey Vey!! Just make sure you don't get any black mold growing on your ceiling...got some old stuff in my studio, so if for some reason I develop some odd lung disorder, you'll know why!! LOL

Got rain here, finally, on Saturday...I call it "sheets o' rain!" It comes down like a mother, then it just stops, sun comes out and then it's HOT!!! It's like we get the entire rainfall for this area in a matter of mins. and that's just in one part of town!!

It's Monday, no need to tell you what day that is...and will be late to boot!! Pray for me!! LOL

Love ya,
G

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Georgina,

Yes, I know what day it is for you---Hell-N-Back Day!!!
Oh, in Indiana, there is mold everywhere. You can't live here without mold unless you are in a casket or freezer---and I wouldn't bet on either of those! HA!
I bet we have as many forms of mold as NOLA did after the hurricane.
Which is probably why there are so many respritory problems up here...that and people who smoke nonstop. Yep---hard on the old lungs....
Now, go have a nice day.... :D

EEKS!!!! I am right there in the chicken coop with Silke when it comes to bad weather. Scares the poo out of me! No wonder you have been having migraines with all that barometric change. Fantastic shots though. It is our monsoon season here in the desert and I am dreaming of Autumn, making wee little pumpkin men. I owe Cori one from LAST YEAR! **spank me** OOoooo, and writing Silke's letter and then YOU ARE NEXT! Not my fault. My winery on FV is doing too well...hiccup. **kisses** Deb

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

I must confess
Up I fess
I did not walk in the rain
I did not walk on the plain
I walked on concrete
When gone was the heat
I took Daisy for a walk
At feral dogs I balked
It was drizzling
so I had to hurry up before my teatsling
got soaked.
for that would have been a bad joke.
