Visitors

"Hello! Do you mind if we sit a spell?"

"The sky is blue and the day is warm...."

"....a little sustinance before my flight...."

"And oh! How sweet the nectar!"

The beauty that is provided by the unexpected visitors,
to whom we open all our gardens and hearts.
There is enough for all.

Beautiful! This morning, as I was watering, I was visited by a brilliantly green lizard and a fat bumble bee. I thought about running in to get my camera, but we just had a moment that remained unrecorded...

Hey, Anne, I'm grabbing my fig tart and heading over to Deb's beer truck to hang out where it's cool. Are you coming?!? Love, Silke

Morning, Anne! I love these pics, they are all summer. :) Our big butterflies are here, I need to get a pic of them. Yesterday Pat, Rick and I rescued a big swallowtail from our garage door opener. How he got in there is anyone's guess. At first I thought it was a bird. Anyway, he/she was very happy to be out of our hot garage and back outside. :) Happy Monday to you! xoxo

Mornin' Anne!!
Love the pics & especially the bunny! We have a baby bunny that dashes in & out of the hosta in the front gardens. Max loves to watch it from the sunroom. He taps the glass & huffs at it. We call it Maxies Bunny!!
Have a Wonderful Week!
Love,
Marilyn

It has been so much fun watching the butterflies in the evening....they just float on the thermals from the heat!
And this is DEFINITELY rabbit hill here! I have no idea how many rabbits we have....enough to NOT even try a vegetable plot! LOL!!

I see nothing out here as beautiful as in your garden. There was a singing bird warbling away yesterday in our Pinon tree and it was really irritating the Mocking birds...very funny to watch them and listen to their complaints, but this show-off wasn't going anywhere...he knew he had an audience and he was much bigger than the Mocking birds.

I told you are street is like West Side Story, Predominately, White Tail Doves on one side and the Black Grackles on the other and when they cross, oh man, it's war!! LOL Other birdies are tolerated on either side!

Have a great one and keep taking shots at nature...er...of nature! LOL

Love ya,
G

Hey Lolo,

I am the same...I try and wander when the light is good daily to get pictures. Usually early evening provides the best color at this time of year, and more things that fly, flit, buzz and hop! (we have a lot in the hopping department!)
Have a good one!

wonderful shots- especially the bee on the thistle! isn't it nice to have the photo option when studio time is sparse? have a great week!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Yes! I love my camera, and that bee was a surprise!
I was shooting into very bright back light and could barely see---just clicking off frames.
I loaded the photos onto the computer, and AH-HA! There was the bee! :)
Sometimes it just doesn't get better!

Great photos Anne! That Bunny could be KJ's "Emily"! Ha-ha!
And I see you have been snapping photos of my "Cousin" again!

The bee shot.....is gorgeous...

And, I am remiss in telling you how lovely your "Acorn" post was. I love that silver piece of yours.....acorns mean a lot to me, too...but these days, they are a painful reminder of my ex.....still, I love them...

Wonderful blog!

Hugs,

p.s. Word verification: "NONLIT"...yep, that describes me perfectly these days...

Yep, NONLIT pretty well describes me too...OY.

Beautiful shots, but on to the important matters of the day: You and Ces fighting over Silke's fig tart in the beer truck!!! You are gonna have to clean up this mess. DO NOT smear that on Ces' face!!! ANNE!!! Here, have another gulp of beer, you'll feel calmer!!! Put your fig leaf back on NOW. **kisskiss** Deb

Great photos, Anne. Is that a thistle or is it teasel? Very interesting, what a nice unexpected surprise with the bee in the photo too.

Hey Jan,

That is a teasel. I cut the ones around the yard, but that is on the south acre where there is a whole clump. They are beautiful...when you don't have to run into them!
