Black Leather Days......

Once upon a time.....what seems like forever ago, though it really is not, I used to do a variety of modeling. And I enjoyed it and in this case, the young photographers I had the opportunity to work with, getting them accustomed to live models. (and believe me, I was very lively then!)

This is a shoot I did with a group at a tech school (an adult evening class), thus the difference in color and saturation of photos. That blue bass is the one I let get away....*sigh*....it had a fast neck and the most wonderful pickups for harmonics! How I loved it......man, could it sing. I have a different one to take it's place, but this one was special. It was the perfectly balanced, perfectly constructed, most wonderful piece of Fender Jazz Bass history I have owned.

I will always be glad that I have the pics I do from this session, though after scanning and resizing, they do not have the quality of the originals.
What fun!
And how I loved those kid leather pants! YOWZA BABY!!! Like a skeleton slipping into it's skin! LOL!!!! (seriously, get out the cooking spray and the slide me into them....)

Some of the students really caught the essence of *me*...the photo above was one I was fond of though the lighting was a bit harsh. (where was gaussian blur then???LOL!!!) I like the highlights on the tuner keys......yeah, it's a bass player thing.

This is another that lost quite a bit in reducing the size to post so that it would not take up all my free storage.....try clicking and see if it is any better.

I was always fond of this, taken as an off-camera moment....photo floods are sooooo hot, especially when you are wrapped in a cow! HA! My expression seems to be one of *get the shot and let me move....*

This is by far my favorite; I think I had posted it on Face Book once, or maybe it was here...who knows, I can't remember...and Tristan said I looked like a Punk Madonna. (as in the religious one and NOT the singer...*ahem*) That was about the highest compliment I could get! :-) I always liked the fact that the cross I had worn that evening really showed; it was one Gary purchased for me when he was TDY in England.

Toward the end of the shoots, there was always wind down time, and I was sick of smiling and hot and needed to powder down. But sometimes a gem like this would come along.....however, usually.......I was like everyone else at the end of a hard days work.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL!!!!
As an aside, it took two men to help me up from this shot. The combination of nose-bleed stilettos and skin tight drawers made me much like a bug stuck on it's back. There I lay, saying "Get me up, please!!!!"
I cannot wait until Fall, when I can don my leather jacket and gloves, my Doc Martens or Harley boots and go out into the brisk air! I treasure the cool mornings and nippy evenings, the scent that is sweet in the air as the leaves begin to turn, and everything in the world is right again.
Thanks for coming along for a laugh.....this old school punk misses the days of late concerts and playing so loud I half deafened myself, of beating the hell out of my bass and the amazing calm the sound vibration sent through the whole of your body.
I miss my music much.
Alas, we move on.
Have a good one...some fun...some laughs...just don't get stuck!

Pax....

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! HUBBAHUBBAHUBBBAHUBBBBA!!! You were not kidding. I can imagine those leather pants. Like the support stockings we used in nursing school - except your pants look much cooler and come to think of it, we did not wear stiletto shoes.

Do you know why they are called stilettos? A stilettos is an Italian knife or dagger. Yes, those shoes could kill; the man lusting at the woman or the woman breaking her neck from falling.

These are great. You are SOOOOO VERSATILE!!! Marilyn is right, another side to you! What else is next? I can't wait. There is so much to you, but the best part - you are truly wonderful, mental-ninja, stimulating, kind, wonderful, loving friend!!!

YEAH!

Ces Adorio said...

I forgot! You and Deborah should have a photo shoot together!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well Ces!!!

What kind of nurses were they training??? I thought they all wore those sexy white stockings and high heel with a shorter skirt...to keep the patients HAPPY!!! (think, leaning over the bed of some old dude!) Ah-hahahahaha!!!
I have many side....
I figure the world can only handle SO MUCH at once!
I do still have the pants, jacket and shoes.
And yes, those are a pair you could drill a heel into someone's head and do damage! (I've never fallen out of a pair...low heels however...)

Wow! Woman, you are DANGEROUS! Wowza, hubba hubba and all that stuff. I'm not surprised you treasure these - I'd have them all blown up really large, and on my bedroom wall!

Ces Adorio said...

Hubbahubba for him. He better have a brown paper bag handy in case he hyperventilates. Can you imagine Deb and you then? Anyone would have been lost in all those legs! Okay. I shall refrain from writing too many details. I can't believe I forgo coffee for this. I am pouring myself a cup.

Good morning! I just stopped by at Deborah's! She is saving lives over there!

It was a delightfully fun part of my life. Up until the hip transplant--or whatever you want to call it--I still did ramp modeling for charity fundraisers. I am hoping to get back to being able to do that....maybe!

Hi Anne,
"YOU SEXY THING"
Great shots and looks like sooo much fun!

Why do you miss your music?
Hugs,
Anna

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Anna,

Basses are notoriously heavy. The weight of the wood gives the deep, lush tone. But having that hanging on a strap around your neck, with migraine issues and then arthritis in my hands, makes it almost impossible to play anymore.
I was very good; the guys at the music store where I hung were trying to get me in bands after a couple of lessons (I have a good ear for bass...it was just a natural thing).
But the reality of joint issues has prohibited me from playing like I used to. And I do so miss it.
BUT!!! I have the wonderful memories! (and good friends here!)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Kate!

Hey, you know I have problems with some of those new blogger templates loading? I refuse to give up my old one....wonder if they were trying to get us to not have so much *stuff*....LOL!!! Like that would work with women!
Yep, that's me...but you guessed it when I was suggesting songs for the CDs you burned! :)
I miss the mosh pit.
I miss being able to wear heels that high!
And no, the back was from wrestling the fallen tree and numerous other *work-related* adventures! ha!
Glad you came by...clears the brain, eh?

Anne...I always knew you were a leather type gal. After seeing you as Scythe Woman, I had a feeling there was a little more we needed to know about you and now we know. You are not just Scythe Woman, you are Black Leather Woman!! But I always knew you were holding something back. Listening to your sexy music prompted me to think a little more of what it is that makes you the classy woman you are and now I know. Sometimes you have to resort to the Scythe and other times it's Black Leather time. Yep, your good to go. :)) Very nice pictures Anne. You are a very beautiful woman. Thanks for ahem..."enlightening" us. :DD

We will be able to say a proper goodbye
or hello
while I eat jello?
