...........aren't they just the idiots!! You know they will shimmy out of what they owe to the fishing industry & how can you even repay the lost animal & birds lives??? In the last few years I have lost all respect for big business.... :-{ Marilyn (Pissed in Pennsylvania)
Oh yeah Marilyn, I know what you mean. I think the news article that BR was lobbying for the JUDGE that would hear their case just blew me away. They will walk away from it all and leave this horrible path of disaster behind. Big business buys the law makers; from local on up.
Funny and perfect sign! We world citizens are energy hogs though, and I take some responsibility for using energy. People of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, India, China, etc. are using so much energy, driving our cars, etc. Just my 3 cents worth (inflation you know).
I agree Terra. But where I live, there is no public transportation, no alternative energies, so though we may shut things down and recycle and make the best choices we have available, unless we go back to a horse, there are no options. It is a sad and grievous mess that we all are in.....
anne, i really believe there is among us a strong general malaise about this spill. i see pictures of those oil covered birds and hear the fear in the la. fishermen's voices and i feel such disgust. thank you for posting this.
i'm hopping our government officials, mr obama included, GET this. that CEO of BP is a jerk. when he said 'no one wants this fixed more than me...i want to get back to my life"--how insensitive and offensive.
okay, i could go on and on but i will leave it that we are again soul sisters as well as partners in crime. damn. damn. damn. what a fucking horrible and irrepairable mess!
I think most people feel completely helpless to DO anything, and heaven-forbid that their CEO should be so encumbered with a massive spill........GEEZ! I'll shut up---too tired to really get a good rant going. (stomps foot and wanders off steaming....)
It's sad they ever allowed drilling when they had no failsafe for when something exactly like this happened. there is no quick fix or clean up---this crap will be out there for years......
I told John, just yesterday, that if I didn't have Ayden to care for, I'd head out to help with the animals. Instead, I bought him some Land Shark Beer...Jimmy Buffett is promising to stand up for the area!
I know with Jimmy living in the area, he will probably do more to help than government agencies. It's always the individuals and volunteers, you know? Kills me seeing the photos. I mean, it rips my heart out.
