Equal time for my little *Peep-Meisters*!
They can't share a cage, one is sweet, one is ornery,
but Sunday Morning is Aaron Neville gospel music
time, and then they both BEHAVE.
(until the CD is over.....)
Yes, we have Parakeet Church here, and it is
DEFINITELY a Praise Band!!!
Have a wonderful day!

Oh Anne they are adorable. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday. I am going to try to clean my sewing room (studio) or NOT. Might just take my granddaughter shopping that is always fun to do.

Hey Bunny!
Thye are so good at looking adorable....until they get mad at each other and start screaming like kids! LOL!!!
But I love 'em for what they are!
Go shopping....cleaning can wait.

They are sooooo cute. Handsome birds!! My parents tell me the story of the parakeet they had when they first met. They taught him to speak, he loved taking baths with them AND he liked his occasional sip of beer - a German bird indeed!! Happy Sunday! Love, Silke
Oh Silke, that is amazing!
Parakeets are sooo funny and SMART. Anyone who says *bird-brain* has not met these little guys!
I have one that loves baths and the other, well, he likes being in his *natural state*...!!! LOL!!!

Parakeets are the funnest and funniest of little birds. I could be entertained by them for hours. Our last parakeet, many years ago, was green like Sexy Boy. His name was Pia Pia Pookoo. In the language of my toddler son, that translated as "Pretty, Pretty Pickle". It became his name, instantly, when we found him clinging to a screen window as we were walking. Q screamed pia pia pookoo over and over and waved his hand toward birdie. The rest was history.
I used to have a gree parakeet that looked just like yours! Aren't they so cute! then I had a pair of lovebirds--the "doodie" and the boyfriend. just love those little birds!
Wonderful shots (and hilarious commentary! I love keets...so fun to paint. But they hate it because the brush tickles ;D
xoxo
Lolo
Good to see Da Boyz so close up and personal. Yes, they is gorgeous! Turn that music UP baby!!
Annie, what a cute way to get a parakeet name!
And the birds DO train the *owners* quickly, don't they...??? ;)
I've had the boys (Joey & Johnny) for two years and DH and I are perfectly trained now.
The birds have a GOOD LIFE......LOL!!!

Anne
Hey Janet,
The one thing that was a surprise for us was how interactive they are with humans, and how they expect YOU to be part of their flock! They are a bundle of feathered fun!
XXOO!!
Anne
Hey Lolo!
LOL!!! Trying to get these two to pose is hours of work. Joey, (green) will hide his head and Johnny (blue) just starts headbanging/or bobbing when he sees the camera and running back and forth on his perch......
I have never tried painting them yet.....hmmmmmm......
XXOO!!
Anne
hey Jan,
I figured since they get mentioned here so much, it was about time to give them some props!
And DH is in making sure the CD is restarted, or there will be pouting and then a screaming war....*sigh*
XXOO!!
Anne
LOL! Love them! Your words captured their expressions perfectly! I hope you are well my friend.
Elena, they truly are beyond words....they are a hoot though, ad emote quite well with those little feathered faces! :D

We could really do some damage you and I LOL!!
Hugs

Hey Vanessa,
See, that's how it works. You post nice and then I come along and comment all sassy and ornery!!! >:D
Which makes things work well, eh?
The boys would ♥LUV♥ Pansy and have her trained in a short time.
*sigh*
That's just how they are...
XXOO!!
Anne
Hahahahaha. It blew out its air plug and took off?? I like that.
Don't stomp off. Come back! You can use the turtle float and you know you want more wine!!! And a party just isn't much fun if you're not there. (:
♥ audrey
Hey Audrey,
You realize most normal humans have NO IDEA what we are blithering about???
Okay, folks, check Audrey and Des blogs...and this will make SOME sense.
Maybe.
I don't know.
I got a concussion when the rubber ducky float blew out and sent me flying.

Oh, Anne, your "peeps" are beautiful. I love birds!! I know they must be like family with little minds of their own. I think I would enjoy having them around. It is funny to hear you talk aboout their particular needs and how you always fulfill them. (Ew, that sounds kind of sick, doesn't it?) hahah I mean like certain music, certain foods, etc. etc.
GREAT photos of your boys!!
See you at the pool!
♥ audrey
OMG, I can't stop laughing ~ my stomach hurts. You are SO right. I just read that first line about blowing out its air plug and taking off. Can you imagine the possibilities of what might go through people's minds? Oh no, here I go again laughing. I can't type.
Bye.
♥
Yep, I sure can!!!
**THE MANAGEMENT**
Neither of these women really know what they are talking about.
Just humor them and this will all end soon.
No rubber ducky floats were hurt in this conversation.
**THANK YOU. THAT IS ALL.**
I'd behave for Aaron Neville too...
So which one is naughty and which one is nice? Too cute!
My wallpaper on my computer at work is a picture of my daughter at the zoo in Milwaukee last summer holding a couple of birds that look a lot like these two. If I can figure it out -- I'll send you a copy.
Well Karen, they both have their moments, but Joey, the green one, knows how to use *cute* to get whatever he wants, and Johnny, the blue one, is a hoot with all the stuff he gets into. Sometimes he just starts screaming for no reason and will go, and go, and GO until you can tell there is no peep left in him. It is hilarious!
Spoiled rotten they are.....
XXOO!!
Anne
You're right, your Joey DOES look like my son's Bella. Your Joey and Johnny are so darned cute! They make wonderful pets and have LOTS of personality. My other son has two budgies - a blue one and a yellow one. They all sit beside each other and get out for their daily flights around the house. OH, don't you find they love to make the most noise when you're trying to watch something on TV? lol
Oh the Boyz are so pretty! Great pictures, Anne. They look like postcards. Too funny that they are quiet for gospel music! **kisses** Deb
Ok, is Johnny named for a someone special? LOL!! He definitely is handsome! Both of them are! Reminds me of the one my Oma had; oh she loved on it and it gave her kisses in return!!
Take Care!
Ulrike
Hey Serena,
With our boys, they are too wild to get out of their *very large and well accomadated* houses. In fact, Joey is completely content in his and won't TRY to get out. But we'll be upstairs watching TV and they will be downstairs just yammering away!!! They are a HOOT!
If we get quiet, there will be this inquisitive "Peep?" and then we answer.
Smart creatures!
XXOO!!
Anne
Hey Deb,
I raised the boys well---they have good musical taste. Jazz, NOLA music in general, NOLA Gospel, and anything with an old Hammond B-3 organ!
XXOO!!
Anne
Okay Ulrike, here is the scoop on their names.
When I first got them, I was going to buy FOUR (duh!) and name each after a member of the punk band the Ramones. Well, it was obvious that TWO were plenty.
Joey was named after the lead singer of the band because he was quieter.
And Johnny lives up to his namesake, as he was the decision maker, the one that gave orders, torqued people off and a lot of folks did not like! Seeing as how blue-bomb is just ornery as whiz when he puts his mind to it, he is most appropriately named.
And he just likes to bite my thumb, then he sits and LAUGHS. Yes, LAUGHS. he knows what he's doing! ;)
XXOO!!
Anne
What sweethearts! Don't they just make you smile every day! I'm down to two birds now...used to raise cockatiels now we just have blue front amazon and an Australian grass parakeet (he's 18!..Gracie is probably as old as I am! Have you ever painted your birds?? Not literally..
Yes Robbie, those birds make me laugh every day! Except of course when someone is pouting or grabbing their waterdish and pulling it off the cage to dump it, or, or,.......LOL!!!
I hope these little guys live a LONG TIME!!!!
I've never tried painting them; trying to photograph them is hard enough.
Maybe in my dotage, when I don't have 6 dozen things going at once...ha!
XXOO!!
Anne
Very cute "peeps".... or should I say "keets"..... I love their bright colous and theie very different personalities!
Hugs,
♥ Robin ♥
Oh I love it. I have a canary who doesn't know how to sing. Its supposed to be a male but chirping is all I get out of him except for his beautiful flamingo coloring. Are yours two males? That would explain them not getting along. We had a parakeet when my kids were little who would sit on the dog's head and wander around him as he lay on the carpet. The dog didn't do anything to him.
Hi Robin,
Those two little personalities keep me busy....seeing what one wants or the other doesn't like! LOL!!
XXOO!!
Anne
Hi Freebird,
yes, they both are males. Every bit of literature I read on parakeets before I bought them said "get two males".
Of course, it also said "Parakeets have small voices".
WRONG!!!! (on both counts...)
So they each have their Space Age Bachlor Pads but they still want to be side by side......
Birds!
XXOO!!
Anne
Ohhh love these photos. For awhile I was drawing parakeets all the time.
Love these birds.
Hi Sandy!
I'll tell the boys they are appreciated! LOL!!!
I need to either paint them or use some of the images in collage....too many irons in the fire of late!
Thanks!!!

Our first bird was a budgie and we loved him/her (think it was a he). Then we progressed to a cockatiel - wow, what a mistake! That thing took a total dislike to us and screamed bloody murder ALL the time. Jack finally resorted to shutting him in the closet to shut him up. We ended up giving him away to someone who already had a cockatiel and even they couldn't handle his racket. Then we got a lovely yellow canary which only lasted six month and ended up tits up. No more birds for us (altho' after seeing your Boyz, I just might rethink that).
