I AM ALIVE!!!!

Hi All,

Just a quick post to let you know I now have internet service again---we were off-line for 2 1/2 days due to the number of storms that kept training through the area, wiping out the towers.
I am exhausted, I am not ashamed to say. I beg forgivness for not answering comments on the last post---I am further behind than I was before! (which actually, is rather laughable!)
I will get a decent something or other on here...hmmmmm...not tomorrow but maybe the next day which I think is Saturday, but I would not bet on it.
I have to admit, previously I was out with camera shooting storm pics and getting some interesting shots. But last night's hum-dinger sent me straight to the cellar.
Imagine, if you will, a HUGE, BLACK, THICK blanket of mean cloud, moving stealthily across the area at a frightening pace. Only a tidbit of light left in the horizon line, so the stuff was low. And I do mean LOW.
Grabbed the hubster and off we went. Frankly, I am glad I did not have a radar image. I think I would have popped the last nerve I had left....which is pretty well frayed today.
I will try and catch up with everyone; thanks for the e-mails about our safety. I have sooooooo had enough! Words do not describe!!!
Take care y'all and see you with something creative next time----I promise!

Pax...

Well yesterday, we had an earthquake and up North of us had a tornado. We very seldom get either of these. I wondered if Jeannie is dancing up a storm up there. LOL. Happy that we are all safe.

Oh goodness Anne, please do not ask for forgiveness because then I would feel like a jerk. The week has been pluvial down here but nothing quite like your scary storms up there, yet I am so swamped and could not think.

I am so glad you are back and online. Nothing quite electricity and da Internet!

I love my oaken art! Thank you!!!

Be safe.
Tsup! Tsup!!!

Was that a doozie or what last night. I have now gone to the basement twice in the last 7 days. And that's unusal for me. I'm beginning to think we have really pissed the powers above off some how here in the Midwest. We have lots and lots of green, but the flowers are just lagging behind, I'm thinking just too much of this water stuff.

Hang in there. I'm hearing we are in for a few more "cells" soon.

The winds are what is amazing me and just how quickly these things are moving.

Hugs,
Kate

I am so glad you are safe, Anne! You have been on my mind as well as a couple of friends of ours in the Chicago area. So scary these storms!! Please just take your time and get back into your groove... Much love and a big hug! Silke

Hope things are nice and quiet at your place now. Looking forward to seeing the photos and of course I am in need of a dose of your humor.

absolutely i'm glad to know you and the hubster are okay. what did you do with the birds when you went down cellar?

anne, i hereby release you from feeling you have to visit me or comment as long as you don't mind me still yapping away in your ear. (you are released from even being aware of my yapping if/as necessary)

this release is good for ninety days. you didn't think it was permanent, did you?

:)

Glad to see you. I've been thinking aboout you and hoping things weren't too bad in your area. Watched the weather channel and wondered if you might be spending more time in the basement.
):
I hope the storms are over for a while. It has been bloody HOT here for weeks! I imagine if it keeps up, we'll get a zinger of a storm.

I think the midwest has some of the scariest-ass weather!! I'd personally think about moving out of Dodge, but moving your life is no small task, I know, having just done it.

Meanwhile I'm glad you headed for the basement and made it through another scare. I think I would have lost five brown pounds if I had seen that cloud!!

Hey Bunny,

We *KNOW* Jeannie is dancing up there----it was probably a conga line with her having talked St. Pete into heading it off! :)

Hey Kate,

I was wondering how you were fairing with the path of that monster.
This morning the body *feels* like there is more coming in.....PFFFFT!
My grass and weeds are growing so fast I can't even break even, let alone really get anything done. The flowers, on the other hand, are so-so! Go figure!
Stay safe!!!!

Hey Silke,

Having coffee out of my *Love Knows No Boudaries* Zazzle mug.....I am ENJOYING this! :D
Yeah, the more I hurry, the behinder I get. But I got some new art supplies from Dick Blick yesterday and am having a fit to play!

Hi Ima,

Hey KJ,

Unfortunately, due to the size of their aviaries, I have the birds in the corner of the living room, and I cover them with heavy blankets and knit afghans. I cannot carry them out of the house, thru the garage, studio and to the cellar. I'm not happy with the situation but don't know what else to do.
They are not cooperative (they have little minds of thier own!) so I just have them swaddled up as much as possible.
I figure by Monday, I should be back in semi-normal form.....whatever that is! LOL!!! :D

Hey Audrey,

It has been as hot and humid here as New Orleans, except withouyt the entertainment, lovely buildings and good times! HA!
You aren't too far from Richmond, are you? My cousin lives there and she said the humidity and heat had been horrible.
Here's hoping to staying OUT of the cellar!!!

Oh Lolo-----ROFLMAO!!!!

The five pounds...yeah! Thank heavens I put in a nice half bath down there!!! Now I wish I would have tried for a pic of that monster.....but honestly, I was scared *you-know-what-less*!!!!
This is actually unusual for us to have this MUCH of this weather, so packed together. Plus DH's job is here and it would take ten semis to move all my crap..... sigh .....

Oh Ces, I say I'm going to do Skywatch every time you mention it and then I never know what day of the week it is.....Gary works a lot of weekends and I get thrown off as one day is pretty much like the other; it never feels like Friday or the weekend.
I will have to make a note and stick by the computer....since I have no mental ninja skills left! ;)

Hey Marianne,

The cellar is my wet studio, but the storms have been so rapid, all I do is chart them on the map to see if we need to move further into the back and hunker down.
I couldn't make art then if I tried! It would be like a Monkey painting.....
I dislike O'Hare on GOOD days, let alone in THAT mess! Glad you're okay!!!

I read "pooped" instead of "popped" LOL!!
Stay safe and well dear.
Do you have a good bed in that basement??
Love and hugs.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

OMGosh Marie!!!

I needed that laugh!!!
No bed unfortunately. We are thinking futon, as it can be folded into the small space. My wet studio is the cellar, and there isn't much other room to use...sooooo, I have to get creative!
I am cooked for the day---mowing and computer work that I needed to get caught up on.
ACK.

OMGoodness Dorothy, is Toto alright? Did you make it to Oz yet???? And WHY DO YOU LIVE THERE?? Oh Anne, I did not have enough overhead lighting on my shoot and committed the original photography sin of having to use a flash. UGH. I spent the entire day taking down the exposure and adding a tint and it is what it is, but not as magical as I wanted. So right now I am preloading on a glass of wine, drying my hair and then heading off to an evening of giggling at Nandos with Dee and the boyz. This just might be the night I find out if I can walk out on my own on three margies. teehee! **kisskiss** Deb

Don't worry about posting a reply..I understand! Geezzz you get some bad storms, don't you!! Maybe you just need to stay in the cellar and move all your art work there too..put on a miner's light and you can still work! Why waste all that time down 'there'! Take care and stop taking those pics!! Or you will be the headline!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Deb,

Toto is okay, but I don't think we made it to Oz.....LOL!!!! Do think I've cracked a rib though....
I'm pretty sure I'm at the Wicked Witches house. HAHA!!!
I think your preloading medication is sounding good at the moment; take the edge off.
Hope it was fun!
