Up To The Sun!

A quick post.......had a lovely weekend here; lazy, doing little, reading, running out mostly to take photos. I found this darling little clump of Dutchman's Breetches in the ditch along the road where I walk. Little heads popping up, bits of dew left. Four tiny blossoms, like clothing on the line.
I am planning on getting more photos the week; it looks like everything will come into full blossom all at once. My weeping flowering cherry looks like a lovely bridal veil!
The studio is closer to completion and now it's a matter of pick up and put away......the job that I do NOT excel at. Alas, that is my life...a lot of pick up and put away.
April 7th is both Sisterfriend Day (as declared by Ces!) and No Housework Day. PREPARE TO CELEBRATE!!!!! I can think of no better combination......  ;-)
And now I am off, slowly, gently walking into this beautiful day, tasks before me but nothing that cannot be put off a little longer so I can enjoy some moments of quiet with nature.
To you all.......

Pax.

Hi Diana,

Been out this a.m. with the camera---Indiana weather is so fickle and grumpy at this time of year. It's catch as catch can!

Hey Pam,

Yes, it was a decidedly relaxing weekend. I think I need three more and then I'll be back to abnormal!!! LOL!
And frankly, most every day here is no housework, or minimal.....but to officially be able to celebrate it! YAY! We should party!!! :D

Hey Teri.....I am as in sync as I ever get....you have to remember I'm one of those orbiting planets that wobbles on it's axis and has more of an elliptical path...LOL!!!!

Hi JAnet!

I love spring flowers. They are tiny and delicate and I wonder how they make it through not only the cold, but the matted leaf masses atop them.
It is a wonder! I suppose I will run like a mad woman with my camera most of this week!
Have a good one!

Nature around here is killing me!! My allergies are just terrible right now...eyes feel like sand paper, head's bloated and not with pride either, and my nose is dripping like a broken faucet, other than that, all is well!!! hahahahha!! Bah, Hum Bug!!

Had a busy weekend, not something I really didn't want right now...just want to go under a rock and be left alone, but had company over on Sat. night to watch the playoffs DH cooked some baby backs all day in the oven. Ate a bit since my appetite hasn't been as healthy as usual, that's the only good thing about this mess, but laughed a lot...that's a good thing...need to do that again.

Have a good one and we be talking.

Love ya mucho,
G

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Georgina,

My allergies are miserable too....it is pitiful! Feels like the whole left side of my head is ready to explode, and that's with meds!
I think my lethargy is linked to POLLEN.....not all laziness!!! LOL!!!
Hope you get past the worst of the allergies; it looks to be a hundinger of a pollen season here.

Glad you had a good weekend, mine wasn't bad either but not nice weather. Sister day on Wednesday huh? Hey, I'm a sister! Lets Celebrate!!

Your Dutchman's Breeches look like a white wild bleeding heart like we have tons of around here. Is it the same? The foliage looks the same.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Actually, Squirrel Corn, which is VERY CLOSE to D.B. looks more like the bleeding heart. I suspect that somewhere along the genus line thay are all related. I know there was some of those down the road---am waiting on a delivery and then will go look and get a pic to send.
The D.B. have the pointed tops, the S.C. is more elongated and round topped.....just to utterly confuse you!

girl you are quick! thank you for describing and defining the plant because that is one area where i lack knowledge. i do not know the names of most plants. have a lovely day anne. sorry for the lower case, i only have one hand today.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Ces.....have you been drawing TOO MUCH AGAIN???? Shall I take your pens away???? (joking, of course!)
I spent most of my life with plants and tromping the woods...I love wild flowers. I guess you have to be a little hard core about then to really notice the difference in these two. They are close. Folaige is slightly different too.
Also Blood Root in bloom.... :) ...grabbing shots before the petals fall.
Take care Ces!!!

anne, where will i start on your blog? elizabeth gilbert? plants and flowers? a new studio? and no doubt so much more. not to mention you are clearly willing to venture into trouble spots and you can be sure you will find me there(and pam, i'm not totally sure about deborah).

i do not support housework as long as things don't start moving or crawling on their own :)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey kj!!!

LOL!! Yep, housework sucks, but I need clean clothes, sooooooo, that ispart of what I am doing!
Yes, Deb lurks where mischief may be found! I know! ;)
Everything goes on here....I am like a bee, never settle too long on one thing. What can I say? It's a flea circus.
Well, hopefully without the fleas! HAHAHA!!!!
Oh, same studio....just needed a major cleaning and move-around. So sick of that too, but close to an end.......

we're finally seeing Spring here, as well...many sprouts, lots of green, a few small blooms - and the Yokino cherry blossoms on the square are just budding out.

FINALLY!

(I had no idea I was supposed to wait for a holiday to do no housework)

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Tristan,

It's just the official HOLIDAY for no housework.
I think we should honor that every day of the year, until--of course--I have to wash clothes so I'm not arrested!!! HAHAHA!
Spring has burst......and we're supposed to get Thunderstorms tonight. OY.

I love your picture of the dutchman's breeches. I have never seen those, awesome. I don't think we have those here or bleeding hearts.
You have wild blood root??
Wow. Would you send me some seeds??
;-D
It is raining here, so it means that the scrub and tumbleweeds are going to be huge this year.
Ooooo, all those brick homes back there in a earthquake, no wonder they are so scary.
I am so glad you are enjoying your wonderful weather, after your winter, you deserve it.
Love and hugs sisterfriend.
I am starting now,
I appreciate you and I am not doing house work! LOL!!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

YAY Marie!!! We should start celebrating TODAY!!!
Earthquakes are just scarier here because nothing is built to withstand them. But there is one H*LL of a fault over south of the tip of Illinois, and they keep predicting we are due for a humdinger......
Yes, we have wild blood root, but I honestly don't know if I could get seeds. They are in a patch of poison ivy......see where this is going???
If I find some elsewhere, before the pods burst, I'll save you some. I have no idea how to propogate it.

Hi Anna!

I've been out being bad...crawling the ditches, taking pictures. As I was squatted by the road getting a shot, I was wondering if I could get back UP!!!! LOL!!!
Don't think I could explain that one to DH...... ;)

Another De-Lovely shot, Anne. I have never heard of Dutchman's Breetches. But there is something just not right with the statement that followed, of "Little heads popping up, bits of dew left." Is it just me?

I'm waiting, breathless...... ;-D
