Greetings all and welcome to new faces! It's funny because for the longest time I was wavering at that 80 follower level, and then BOOM! Up it went!
I am having to make a slight change here; lately I have been getting hit with Chinese comments that include a hotlink to who knows what; well, I am sure you can imagine....... so for the short term I am going to word verification. I hate doing this because I know they are a PITA, but if it makes it harder on them to spam me......
Hope you all have a full rainbow type of day! Beautiful, glowing, artsy, a delight for the senses! I'll be back with more tomorrow or so---off to make some decisions on follow-up pieces with a medical theme......
As a Post Script....also adding comment moderation until Operation Spam-Fry seems to have worked!
Pax.

Good morning Anne,
Word verification does not stop it. These spammers now have blogger accounts so they behave just like bloggers. I once blogged with a couple of women whose professional jobs were to create and send Spam. I wonder if that pays well? Must be not because they both left the industry.
Hey Ces,
I cannot believe that people are PAID to do that? GEEZ!!!
I ought to just report the blogs for abuse....like I think Blogger would actually DO anything about it! LOL!!!
It's all from China....went into Google translator to check....
XXOO!!
Anne
I get these idiots once in a while & either delete or ignore them. If I got a lot I would definately do something else!!
Congrats on your win with Tristan!!
Love,
Marilyn
xxoo
Hey Marilyn!
Yes, I just found that out! I am excited about the cards---have to pick an image now....ugh! How do I narrow it to one???
Yep, next one I get, I'm flagging the blog, and everyone else should too. There is never anything on them....
XXOO!!
Anne
You won? Well, yippeee! :) And maybe we should spam the spammers. Does that pay well? lol! xoxo Pam
Hey Pam, even if it doesn't, it probably is paying more than what I am making on ART right now!!! LOL!!!!
You should not get my brain dolling in that direction....spamming the spammers...
Hmmmmmm...... :D
XXOO!!
Anne
Beautiful rainbow!!! Nice way to start the day.
Thanks Janet!
That is the *only* perk of the bad storms we get here; there is almost always a huge rainbow afterwards.
I think I would rather just look at photos of them and forego the storms.....
XXOO!!
Anne
You seriously didn't have that rainbow to wake up too this morning. Perfect.
Yesterday, must have been one of those yuckie blog days. I was having all kinds of error problems. At least, no Chinese or this computer might have gone through the window.
Here's to hoping things get better today.
Icks... guess not... the neighbors dog just ran through my daffs. Getting a little pissie now.... I hate to have {those} conversations.
Love today's music.
Kate
Hey Kate,
No, the rainbow is one from the photo vault....it just seemed a nice *good morning* image..when I have to tell folks they have to go thru another step to comment. <:[
I firmly believe in FENCES....gave up years ago with the previous neighbors and their DOG-O-RAMA having a vegetable garden....
Good luck!
XXOO!!
Anne
I would much rather fill out the PITA word verify than have spam.
I guess everyone has to make a buck though. I would rather it be you and I, than them.
Congratulations on your win at Tristan's.
Have a great day!
Hey Marie,
I'm sure it won't stop them.....I just can't believe people get *paid* for spamming blogs!
But then, I guess I think different...you know that! HA!
Have a good one!!!
XXOO!!
Anne
I get those spammers too and once I was curious and eewww!!!!!! I just hit my little trash can after the so called comment and the message is gone. Nothing you can do about it other than just trash them..kind of what we do with all spam.
Have a good one. I'm done with everything right now...going to take a short break from the studio because I want to try something different and need to do some research, plus, want to finish that darn Stephen King book I started several months ago!! Have a good one.
Love ya,
G
Hey Georgina,
We all need creative downtime. When we don't give it to ourselves, things go awry. (speaking from experience) So go read, relax, do what you want!
I am, as usual, doing four things at once, so we'll see which suffers!!! LOL!
XXOO!!
Anne
Great rainbow and I'm playing catchup to your posts and OH MY GAWD!! your creation is fabulous. And with a migraine! Ugghh. I wish I were a fly on your studio wall to watch you create. Beautiful Anne!
Hey Elena,
You could be a person instead of a fly---the view might be better and we could communicate! :D
Just commenting on your blog...back I go!
XXOO!!
Anne
Oh Anne, let Ces know that I think that phone "dating" pays better then blog spamming. Not that I have any personal experience...teehee.
**blows kisses and sunny blue skies your way** Deb
Yeah Deb.... *wink! wink!*
Luv ya anyway; now get that phone out of your hand! LOL!!!!

Anne - what a pain in the ass! I had this as well.
Go to Settings > Comments and change the allowed-to-leave-comments bit to Only those with Google ID, and also Moderate All Comments - and put word verification back on for the time being. When it stops, you can take off the word verification again - but don't change the Google ID and Moderate All Comments.
You'll still get some for a while, but I promise the Google ID thing will act as a big deterrent. My spam has virtually stopped now (I was getting Chinese, Russian and Arabic at one point. I checked on a Chinese one and it was porn site!)
Moderating the comments means they'll all come by email - just Reject them without reading them, and they'll never go onto the blog.
Hope this helps!
By the way, I'm doing a thing about the current blogger problems, which might help you.
AAERGH!!!!!!!
I can't BELIEVE you are allowing comments to go straight onto your blog! Just word verification does NOT PREVENT A THING.
Get that Modify All Comments box ticked in Settings > Comments right away! No wonder you are getting spam!
Okay Susie!!!!
(rushes to get the Google ID checked, wipes brow, WHEW!)
As an aside....I was able to have no word verification for I don't know how long; it has just been of late that it has gotten to be a regular item.
I hate moderating comments...but, perhaps I need to just go that route and then live with for a bit.
And I know you know what you're talking about......
Off to get *Phase Two* of Operation Spam-Fry underway!
XXOO!!
Anne
P.S. Thanks!
Congrats, Anne, on winning Tristan's fab give away!!! I'm so happy for you. And me. I won't have to hear you whine again about never winning. teehee! Love you BIG! ♥ Deb
DEB!!!!
Go take some more beautiful pix to make us all realize we live in the arse of Podunk!!!
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :D
Wait...I do.
Oh.
Never mind.
XXOO!!!
Anne
Hi Anne...I know what you mean...I get tons of these spammers...I just delete them before they ever get on my blog...this is the reason I moderate my comments too!!
Hugs
and what a beautiful rainbow!!!
Diana
I guess I was quite lucky to go for so long and not have to deal with it.....I suppose at some point, all blogs do.
Ah well, everyone gets read!
XXOO!!
Anne
P.S. As to the rainbow, we often have full double arcs out here....I just run for the camera!
All this discussion about comment moderation and spammers has made me do that on my blog too. I hate it, but I hate the spam more, so I guess we have to do it. I just like to make it as easy as possible for people to make comments because at least then I know somebody is reading my drivel..lol.
Well, it's better than dealing with the other. I liked having things easy so folks could comment and we all could *chat*, but the *evil forces* just had to mess that up.
Really, with a Yahoo account for the mail from the blog, it's easy to have it open and know when someone has commented when you're online.
XXOO!!
Anne
I know I'm a bit late entering into this conversation and I'm a fairly new blogger, but I have always had my comments go to an email account (I have a "special" one set up for that.) Mostly because I'm a bit of a control-freak, but also because sometimes I get comments on older posts and I wouldn't want to miss anything!
I haven't had any problems with spammers (yet) either (knock on wood!).
Karen, I think you were wise. I am overly anal on some things, and this should have been one of them!
Live and learn... :D
I've learned!
XXOO!!
