Worthy of Love ♥♥♥

BLOG GIVE-AWAY!!!
"Love Is......"
Collabrative piece, mixed media, 16"x20", ready to hang.
Any comment left during the *Worthy* posts qualifies you to win this piece!
(Yes, that means you can enter more than once!)
Drawing will be March 17th, random number generator or
high tech *names in a bag*.......  :D

During these posts, I will have small sections of the above painting with the posts, as a reminder to get signed up.  All my blogfriends and readers are worthy of it. It is a visual reminder of what *Love Is...* I will ship where ever, though if it is a far off location, it might be through a slower method!

What has made it so difficult for any of us to realize and embrace the idea that we, as we are at the moment, are well worthy of love? As an aside, you have to realize as I sit writing this (Monday afternoon), I am tired, cranky, dirty and worn out. I'm not close to being verbose or eloquent; I'm just hammering words and brain dribble. For someone to love me in this present state seems a little on the impossible side, but hey, I'm hoping..... I mean, every day we have thrust into our faces images of utter perfection; airbrushed, photo-manipulated, bonethin-perfect skinned women (nay, teenagers) that someone has said...this is what you have to be for you to be loved. And if you aren't, well, good luck.
You must be joking.
Pfffft.
But that is not you, or me. Sooooo.....

I disagree.
In fact, I disagree on so many levels, I could fill a hard drive with my rant! I'll keep this short so as not to lose readers to delicious sleep.
You are worthy of love the way you are if you learn to accept love.....from others, from nature, from the universe. For the good you put out, that love returns when you open your heart to it.
Not necessarily romantic love (no one is coming to sweep this girl off her feet and onto a white horse unless he wrestles with the WWE and is riding a Clydesdale....ahem....) but that soul filling, stress quenching, all encompassing love that you used to feel as a child when Summer was about and dandelion seedheads were waiting to be blown to the four winds. When you watch a sunset of the most spectacular intensity, so that you don't know whether to laugh or cry and the colors glow upon your skin and you are embraced in the moment.....when you feel that everything is right with the world as your eyes close for slumber, in a soft warm bed....when you smell the first tantalizing scent of Autumn in the air. You've experienced at least one of those, yes? And remember the feeling? You were so engulfed in that second, doubts and fears were cast aside. The real you was there, open to the pure joy.
That is love. That is what you, at this very moment are completely, utterly worthy of if you will let it happen. Put aside the TV and magazines, the *experts* that psycho-analyze your every breath in front of 2 million viewers. Put aside the expectations of parents and friends, and sometimes spouses. The conservative ways we were raised, the scoldings in school, the mean co-worker who does their best to belittle us in public. Forget for a moment people who have wronged us and hurt us, lied to us repeatedly, thieved from our work claiming it as their own and made us feel we were worthy of little.
They are wrong. You were put here to be loved, because you are worthy of it. Every single, luscious, wonderful second of feeling it, pulling it towards you, accepting the gift that is waiting for your heart, pushing back the nay-sayers.......You were not created to feel LESS. You were put here for the abundance of MORE, and that's LOVE.
Let the universe bring you love.
Now.
Close your eyes and breath deep and let that idea soak in. Feel what is being sent to you---pure thoughts of love of sisterfriends.
And exhale everything else.
Everything. Let it go.
Just let it go.

Last evening, as I was struggling with my commission, arthritis fuming into a boiling stage, my husband said the simplest thing to me that was grander than any eloquent speech.
"I want you to do things that make you happy. I want you to have fun."
If that wasn't saying I was worthy of love, I don't know what else it could be.

Find your moment, embrace it...don't be afraid. Let it permeate you. Let it fill you up until you can say "I am sooooo worthy of love! I have been all along!" And don't let it go!

And let's hope it doesn't involve the wrestler and the Clydesdale.....LOL!!! That one's MINE!!!
Now get out there and let yourself be loved!
I bid you, as always....

Pax.

HAHAHAHAHAH! The above comment qualifies me! Hahahahah!

Good morning! I feel so much better, can you see? Oh poor you! Sleep deprived and a PT session. Those therapists better watch out you might kick in the wrong direction.

You are so sweet to have a give away. I see something interesting below. Let me read it.

I love you, Annie - cuz you are such a whippersnapping firebrand! :) You make me happy! I am, in my advancing old age, getting a little smarter (thank you, God!). Things that used to completely derail me, and tear up what little self-esteem I had, now only dent me for a few days, and I'm up and on my way again. I am learning, and isn't that what life is all about? That and dandelion seeds on a summer's night. And don't forget fireflies. xoxox

When horrific things happen in your life from the "get-go" & no matter how wrong you really know people are that accuse you unjustly it is very hard to shake off the accusations. From the step father who physically beats you to the drug infested child who raised his fist to hit you....you wonder what you did wrong.
It takes many, many years to realize you were a victim .....
Wonderful post Anne. I am embrasing life & trying my best to live it to the fullest!!
One of my favorite saying is....
"The best revenge is living well & I plan on living VERY well!!"
Love You!!

Oh, dear sisterfriend Anne, what a beautiful post. All those things you mentioned do fill us with a special kind of love, don't they? What a nice reminder to make us stop and realize how worthy we are and how much there is to love in this big wonderful world, if we just push the crap aside from time to time.
What a sweet, calming feeling ~ knowing we are worthy of all that love!
Thank you for this post. And, thank you for the chance to win the LOVE TREE painting. I would treasure that piece!

You know, even if I don't win the giveaway, your post spoke volumes. Loved it! But I did have a laugh at your comment to my photo post. You said all those nice things and then I was so tempted to write back and say "ok, which person in the pic do you think I am". Thank you for the kind words and this beautiful inspiring post. And you say you're not being eloquent...ha!

This is so awesome, All of our churches had women preach last week on "True Beauty' and what it means, it was a pretty hard hitting message and you captured the flavor of it without even hearing it!!
I preached in our Winamac church and it was just incredible!!

OMG Anne, I got all warm and fuzzy over this post....seriously!! I know what you're thinking, "That crazy b---ch wouldn't know a warm or a fuzzy if it hit her between the eyes!!" But I do have my soft side, as you do.

Age has decreased the softer side of me...I'll admit, I'm damaged goods after a 25 year old marriage gone kaput....trust became a real issue as did the idea I was undeserving of love...I felt I gave too much and in return, I was terribly betrayed, but I got over that!! LOL Found someone who loves me, but does not define me...I have always been there, buried under someone else' idea of "me."

I've discovered how simple happiness is and how easy it is to love without drama...call it experience, age, loss, menopause, whatever you want to, or all the above, but it's really quite simple we just have to sit still and pay attention for a moment to find it. I'm blessed with a wonderful family, a mother and daughter who constantly give me fodder for blogs, when I don't feel like strangling them, wonderful friends, don't have many, but the ones I have our golden, and I also include my blog friends who have been such blessings.

So love and happiness are not impossible or out of our reach. You have to love yourself first before you can love anyone else, truly love that person or people. That's a hard thing for women, especially the younger ones, but if you let it, it will happen...then you'll be called selfish by your children...got over that one too....told them the same!! LOL

Love ya, my dearest friend,
G

Georgina, my friend, you just wrote the PERFECT POST on this!!!
Taking care of ourselves is not selfish, but unbelievably SENSIBLE. And from that, everything else springs forth....

You always have wonderful words with lots of depth. I guess I have never felt unloved but have been so naive and still am. My problem is I trust everyone will do the right thing and I am disappointed and it happens over and over again. Guess it is too later to change. When you live as long as I have and have been through lots of stuff I am happy to be as positive as I am. My cup is always more than half full. LOL

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Bunny,

It is never too late to change anything......but having a glass that is always more than half full is a quality many would fight for.
I'm doing a series of five posts....each something we are most worthy of. :)

This post is absolutely great Anne...don't you dare say you aren't being eloquent, because if this post isn't eloquent I don't know what is! I don't know why (my mind works in mysterious ways) but it made me think of the movie 'Ghost' with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore...how they said 'I love you' and then 'ditto'. I always thought that was pretty wonderful.

This would be a lovely birthday gift for my mom. She has been fighting Melanoma for 5 years and has so far won the battle with a clinical trial drug. Her birthday is March 18 so she will be receiving one of her infusions the day before her 85th birthday. I love her so much and she has been a real testament to love.

what a lovely piece of art, I think it says alot about you and I think it's very hard for certain people to embrace new things

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Lissa,

Yes, embracing anything new is a challenge, but at the end of the day, we are all worth it if it is something good for us.....we grow, we get stronger.....it is a slow process. Sometimes it takes a lifetime to reach the goals, sometimes they come in forms other than what we expect.
It is more the willingness to open for the chance of change, and then things happen.
I hope good and worth come to you soon and in abundance!

I can't help but respond to these now that I have found them even though they are now older postings. I came home from a trip once to find my husband had collected wildflowers and put them in a vase for me to see on my arrival home. We live in the desert but it was a good spring and the flowers were blooming and he thought of me. That's one of my greatest memories. (And he was beaming and as full of himself as if he were a 5 year old boy rather than a man in his 50's). Thanks for bringing the memory back up.
