Happy Mardi Gras! I am so not tuned into that anymore, but in Germany it was and still is a huge celebration! I don't have to bother calling anyone in my family today - they are all busy today!! Have a wonderful day and thank you for your wonderful comments on my latest painting!! Love, Silke

Aaack! How come we did not have any party this year at work? We usually do. Damn projects. And I have not had any King Bread. I must get one today. Thank you for reminding me Anne. I love Mardi Gras. I had hundreds and hundreds of beads in the past but had to get rid of them. My friends used to drive to NO to buy crates of beads!

Yeah! Mister better throw me something today!

Keep warm Anne. How is the weather up there? Is it snowing? Be safe.

Hey Ces!

This is the first year I have not made King Cake. I am bummed, but it is a full day's job and I just am not up to that AND dinner. So dinner is the priority!
Weather is still COLD and guess what----SNOWING....
AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I have a full box of new beads in the basement; I use them occasionally in art and decided ordering was the easiest! (plus all the ones we got there in NOLA...)
We are *bead-happy* to say the least....LOL!!!
Have a good one sisterfriend!!!

Happy Mardi Gras... Anne!! I will confess I never really knew much about the meaning of Mardi Gras until recent years. I would love to see New Orleans in all her splendor someday!!
Have a great day!!

Happy Mardi Gras Anne Sweetie...
Here are some purple beads, here take these green ones too. Catch them.

Did you find the baby in the King Cake? A friend of my used to live here, and her Moma sent us a King Cake each year. I only found the baby one time. It was fun waiting to see who found it. LUCKY DUCKY.

Have a beautiful day sweetie. Thanks for sharing.

Country hugs..>Sherry

Happy MG to you too. I have my beads ready. When my grands were little we used to have our own little party. King Cake and everything. I enjoyed your previous post about the sunrise that was beautiful. We are still snowed in. Even more fell last night. Glad I don't anywhere I have to go. Stay warm and creative.

Oh, geeze...now, where did i put my beads? haha! a friend sent me some from NO last year...they seem to be getting fancier!...
oh well, I'll just enjoy yours, anne!...
thanks for the reminder!

Hey Gypsy,

You wouldn't believe some of the beads, but I still like the very old Czech glass ones they had years ago. Found some on eBay I think...restrung enough for two small necklaces. They were short, kind of the length of pearls.

I took leave in the Army and twice headed on over to NOLA for Madi Gras. I have never experienced such exuberance of people in all my life. It left an everlasting impressions on my soul. Day to day I am full of life and want to live each minute to it's fullest. Madi Gras is just so revitalizing to my soul. One day I will have to snag my hubs and head on down there once again. I don't know if NOLA will ever be the same but I'm sure given time, the spirit of the people will soon rise again. HAPPY MADI GRAS To you my friend and to all those who celebrate it's spirit!!!

hugs
Tammy

NOLA is NOLA at Carnival----I am sure of it!
Just finished a dinner of crawfish, french bread and Blackened Voodoo Lager---we had that the very first visit.
AH! Memories!
AH! Full belly!!! LOL!
Everyone should go there once, but preferrably after talking with someone who knows the city.
HAppy Mardi Gras my friend!

OK...for us Canucks, what exactly is King Cake? It must be good or there wouldn't be so many comments. I really need to know because curiosity is getting the better of me!
