The Final Photos of the Hearts

Learning to use a new camera and trying to get good shots of finished artwork is not the wisest of combinations....
But, if you enlarge these, you'll be able to see the fine details and some of the aging process I used on them. I was STILL having issues with the different varnishes and finishes I was using---I am assuming it was nothing more than weather and not operator error! LOL!!!
While the exposure on the first is much lighter than the piece, I was hoping it might show some of the hint of glitter on the wings. I am beginning to think I need some remedial photo lessons.......hmmmmm.......
Now; banner fabric is on the tables and I am not sure what I will be posting until I can get these things well underway, so if it gets quiet or there is no art again, then I am in the throes of trying to wrestle this giant project with about one third the energy I usually have.
Also, I may not be blog hopping as much, and it is not because of the wish to ignore anyone---I just need to stick my nose to the grindstone and keep it there because I am not looking forward to these.
I just need them DONE.
And DONE WELL.
So if any art happens to sort of slither in during the sewing process, believe me, I will post it.
To everyone, have a wonderful creative day...try something new...and enjoy the journey!

Pax.

Marilyn....LOL!!! I don't know what the temp is here but it is warmed enough to get the OA going. (very, very damp)
I was just at your blog!
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out the banners.....it will work, but I would rather be making hearts and trying to figure out my new small Canon camera. It is easier than my big Fuji, but that means NOTHING with this current brain pudding. HA!
I gues I resist change......
HAve a good one--no speeding tickets! :)

Wow, you always sounds so very busy!! Can't wait to see what you create next! Are you feeling ok?!?

I love those butterfly wings you used in your heart pieces. Where do you get them? I always love all the ephemera others use, but I get overwhelmed when trying to choose something to use for my own paintings...

Wishing you a wonderful day!! And no brain pudding... Love, Silke

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh Silke,

I am always busy!!!! Church banners are next!!! Huge....
I would be happy to send you a JPG of the butterfly--it is copyright free and I have it in several colors. You can tinker with the colors in a photo program....
pop me an e-mail if you want them.
I have trouble deciding too....I think it goes with the territory. Sometimes you just luck out and KNOW!!!

I love the finishes you get on your pieces, Anne. You are so amazing! How you have the energy for church banners is beyond me, after surgery and all. But you are Wonder Woman!! Da da da daaaaaaah!! Just don't get stuck on the table, crawling around like you do. :) Happy working! I'm going to work today, too. I need to get something DONE. I know you know what I'm talking about! xoxoxo Pam

Very nice. I've missed you, but I too have been out of pocket except for my saint blog I wrote the other day. Need to also get my arse in gear and create, create, create, but I need to first get Miss Daisy's errands run and hope I don't stroke out. My blood pressure was very high this a.m. and the doc wanted to know what's going on...Miss Daisy. My doc is such a sweetie and says he looks forward to my appointments...I'm very funny and likes the idea I'm a bit on the rebellious side!! LOL I guess, he wants to grow up like me!!! He even sang me Happy Birthday...that's never happened before!!! He's an opera singer and began telling me the story of one of Wagner's operas he's learning...that Wagner was a randy sort of guy!! LOL

Well, need to run...oh yes, I want my apron...need amount please so I can mail you the check...that's my birthday gift to me from me!!

Love ya,
G

Well PAm, I do NOT have the energy for the banners, but unfortunately I have the committment (no, I did not say I need to be committed, though probably so! LOL!!!) so I have to figure this out---HOW to do it and not hurt myself.....
Geez.....
Us artists. What a crazy bunch. ;)

Oh Ces.....LOL!!!!
No, life is too short, but these were committments I made LAST year, before my change of heart, and I do stick to my word. So, after I've bitched a while and get them going, it will be good!
Then back to my hearts....or whatever tidbit is enthralling me at that point! LOL!!!

Hey Georgina!

I am sorry I did not comment on your saint post---I want to go back to it. Been running like mad here and feeling lower than a snakes belly; just tired.
I'll pop the apron in the mail to you with a bill.
Watch that BP----seriously.
I don't even want to know what mine has been of late.......
Will e-mail.

Always fun to click on your photos and look as closely as I can. It is so amazing to see the finished results and to see the unfinished piece that sat there so plain, waiting for inspiration to strike. Thanks be to Jill Tracy! for helping provide this inspiration.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Jan,

Glad they show up well. I suppose the thing with the work is not so much the big pieces, but the little tiny things that add ambience.
And yes---THANKS to JILL!!!! I can't wait for the CDs to get here.
Off to rest, then probably work on banner tassles, sewing beads, trim, etc. Pfft. The fingers are NOT amused.
LOL!!

Oh gee Anne, you too! You are going to give depression a very bad name if you were. What type of depressed person jumps with energy just by reading them? really! You are are a lot of "ic" but certainly not depressed. I am crazy about my sisterfirends and if someone told me to stop chatting with my favorite sisterfriends, I will be so sad. They add to my daily dose of inspiration and laughs.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Ces....I'm just a lot of *IC*!!!!
That sums it up quite nicely!!!
(though at the moment, headachey-ic---low pressure is killing me.....)
Tomorrow I might be more lively-IC....LOL!!!!

Ah MAry Helen,

I think my little nose would prefer NOT to see that grindstone! I'm sitting this morning, trying to figure out HOW to even start these monsters......
Guess I will be moving furniture and setting things up to block off half the studio today...pffffft!!!

Oh No!!! Don't grind that pretty little nose down! OOooooo Anne, my mug arrived yesterday and it is ever so De-Lovely! It was going to be a Valentine gift for hubby, but now me thinks NOT! I love the idea of you sitting on my desk each morning having coffee with me. Wait...that sounds wrong on several levels. Blame it on the bleach. **kisskiss** Deb

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Leslie,

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi MA,

(sigh) Yes, this was promised from last year, and the only *furniture* I will move will be ironing boards and a couple of cardboard boxes to support the large foam insulation panels I use for a table.
And yes.....crawling will be involved.....somehow. That is why I am trying to get my head around the whole of the thing before I start, and I still have issues to figure out, the least of whiich is how I will sit at the sewing machine.
But these HAVE TO BE DONE...HAVE TO...by Easter. So that means get going now.
Phooey.............. >:(
