Stranded in "No E-mail Land"

Just a quick check in, no work pics, no pith......
And no working e-mail. It died yesterday at around 11:14 EST and was not able to be resuscitated, to date, by the ISP.
I may be in the dark (anyway you look at it! LOL) for who knows how long because said ISP are not exactly whiz-kids at getting things up and running. Well, the *whiz* part is apropo.....  >:-)
So if you need to contact me, I will check back in here periodically. At the moment I still have internet. Hallelujah---pass the plate.
But....that, too, may pass!
I want a seperate day's post to put up a lovely award bestowed upon me by Silke over at Metamorphosis, (altho I do recommend you check out her lovely paintings now!) and also a little surprise about a piece of my art and words being published in the web. Not now.......I need to pout and grieve properly. You understand!
Hope y'all are have a better and more technically sound start to your week than I am!
I bid you exactly what I am not feeling at the moment......

Pax.

As the kids would say, that sucks, dude! I would be lost - which is why I am hoping to buy a laptop this week - can't stand being away from the connectivity when we travel - too much to keep straight! Now breathe....

Oh Annie, you don't need all this extra stress right now. So sorry you are e-mailess. You will manage you are what I like to call "tougher than a pineknow." Now to me that is a compliment. Hope you see it that way. Blessings

Hey all,

Yes, I am trying to handle this with grace and dignity, and also because when we have complained to the ISP before they told us we could *get another provider*
Well, if there WAS another provider out here in the sticks, doncha think we would have signed up with them????? DUH! HELLOOOO???
So I have decided on my list of things to address, snapping at the little darmings is not one of them.
However, they will received a sweet call today......seriously, dripping honey.
This happens all the time since the business was sold and there is little to do but wait.
And yes I am cetainly tougher than a pineknot and I know what it means from chopping wood and using a chainsaw and hitting those things! LOL!!!! ;)

XXOO!!
Anne, who has not lost her mind YET from no contact with the real world.......

Must be something in the air as my dad's computer died yesterday! Pineknot is pretty tough, but it's a great firestarter! So I guess dripping honey would be better than seeing the flames!!!

Well Ulrike, I have to admit I get so fed up with this. We may be without e-mail for a week as happened the last time, and they refuse to credit the bill because they *don't guarantee* the e-mail svc, only internet.
Hmmmm, wait a minute.....they provide a website to access the e-mail through??????
I'm ready to move to Mars; I'm thinking there is better service there! LOL!!!
It's just a bad-karma-tech-week! LOL!!

ach

no email - the worst!

I can remember the days of email WITHOUT a "second access" to communication - blogs! It would drive me c-r-a-z-y.

Hope you're up and running soon - well, not YOU, your computer - er, your email - you know

Well, you're the prettiest little pineknot/nut I've ever seen! teehee. Despise internet provider problems. LoVe the flower piece you posted. LoVe LoVe Silke! Is she not the most graceful, beautiful soul, inside and out!?!
Wishing you internet connectivity.

Oh, I don't know what I'd do without e-mail anymore. It's become my lifeline to the outside world. Well, there is the phone, but it's just not the same. I think you are handling this with so much dignity and grace! ;-) The piece you posted yesterday is gorgeous!! Can't wait to see what it will look like all finished. Love those colors!! Love, Silke

Tristan, Deb and Silke,

Well, my grace and dignity is slowly going down the tubes when calling the ISP I get the pre-recorded message "We are experiencing system wide outtages" which in non-tech speak means:
*You are up a SH*T creek without a paddle and will be staying there a loooooooong time!!!!*
Okay, loose translation......
So Anne is starting to fray at the edges.....the last time this happened I had over 117 e-mail to dig through.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Big Bummer, Dude!! I like the convenience of technology, but I don't like the little bugs that keep crawling out of it. Remember the good ol' days when you wrote a letter and that's it, got a letter, not "error message, try again, blah, blah blah!!"

Oh well, it's a good thing, I always got bad grades in penmanship...write like a one legged chicken!!

Let us know about your other stuff...waiting!!

Love ya,
G

Hey Anne, while you're digging through those 117 emails this time, just think how lucky you are to have SO many friends emailing you!! Ain't life grand??
I turn into a whole different creature when my computer/email is down ~ a creature that no one wants to be around!! lol! Look what technology has done to us... (:
Never fear... your email will return. Use this time to create with no interruptions!! I wouldn't mind that at all.
Have a good day in spite of the email situation!

Oh---now the kicker is I can't see my followers after changing the FB badge....so I GIVE UP!!!!
I should just turn this piece of electronic Hades OFF and go hide.
There is much to be said for pencil and paper.....

Anne....ready to be committed!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well Audrey, it's not that they are e-mails from friends. 95% of is it usually ads, crap, digests, etc. The othe 5% is important.
And I am losing my niceness by the minute.....I feel it slipping away, yes, there it goes!!! LOL!!!
WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Hi Anne, are you connected again? I hope so for you... ;-) Although the few times I've been without e-mail, it's actually given me much more time for other things...

Thanks for your comment on my blog!! I use Golden Soft Gel Medium - matte for my transfers. However, when I first started out, I even used ModgePodge and it worked just fine. They are so much fun to do!!

Happy Afternoon! Hugs, Silke

Hi Silke,

(holding breath, finges crossed, knocking on wood....)
I think the e-mail is back up....the little envelope icon is glowing happily in the corner, my heart is pitter-pattering....my link to the outer world restored???? LOL!!!
For the moment, it's working!
thanks for the info---I really want to try that and will save your comment so I don't forget (which is happening a lot of late).
AND---best part---that is the gel medium I have!
Yes, I get more done with the e-mail down, but all my business contact comes through the e-mail. Ya can't win!

XXOO!!
