One step closer........

(obviously I am the colorful one on the left........SNARF!!!)

....to a day of normalcy! I should be *hopping along* soon, though the enigma of the sewing machine usage is still perplexing me.  That is going to require some reworking of the tables and a lot of extra thought, which it is receiving but with no results to date. And I still cannot move things, so there it all sits.
Yesterday I was able to cook, stay awake all day, and finally have a good night's sleep, eventhough I am up earlier than there is human need for. If I was able to go down to the wet studio, it might be a different tune I am singing but for the moment, I just wait and peck at the keyboard.
Soon enough I will be getting back to a more normal schedule and activities. Poor DH will be able to quit following me constantly to see what I am into.....he does have a tough job of it! Soon enough I will be sitting a bit more normally and painting and sewing and being an artist again instead of just existing in the ether here having much too much experience  of what limbo is like.
I have, however, been able to knit, thus the *Scarf-From-Hades* progressed a bit more and it is now so heavy (at least for my current less than Wonder Woman state of existance) that it may be relegated to a UFO pile temporarily. I never, I repeat NEVER, do that with knitting because sometimes the items don't escape the UFO pile; I have too much money and time tied up in this one. But in the interest of retaining what bit of sanity I have left (and pitiful muscle tone), and it's not much, I started a pair of arm warmer/mitts last evening and have the bulk of one knit and should start the other today.
Hopefully.
Crossing fingers.
When I can remember all the right combination of items---camera, scarf, arm warmers---in one place at one time, there will be photos. I seem to only manage to have one thing at a time, after I have plopped like a great whale into the chair and then the desire to get up and retrieve the other items is gone. Period.
So my gentle readers, be patient with your limping blog mistress and soon I will have photos of some sort of hand work.
The wet studio is still calling as I can do small things (I think) but I am waiting until I am sure I feel well enough to sit, or to rearrange everything to accomodate the right leg. Maybe tomorrow.......or New Years Day......a good way to start the new year.
As for this morning, after a good nights sleep, I am feeling somewhat back to myself and need to deal with a pile of e-mail and other assorted drudgeries of life. Which, after all is said and done, is rather nice.  ;-)
Have a good creative day, and.......

Pax.

so glad you're mending up nicely and will probably be up and around more in the near future. good on you!

it's miserably cold here, too.

stay in - stay warm - eat well!

Yeah Tristan, I am sooooo ready to DO something....going nuts. I think I will make DH take me out today, just because.
It's pretty cold but I'm used to it. I just slap on another sweater and go.....Indiana in the winter is always a crap shoot to say the least.
Oh yes...what to cook today....hmmmmm. >:\

Glad to see you are moving about. Sure don't want any atrophied joints or muscles. I decided to warm up a little, just a little, here in Ky., but we are sure to get a snow soon.
Happy New years to you and your loved ones.

Hi QMM,

Nope, none of my joints or muscles will be atrophied, I can assure you!
I keep as busy as I can without pushing it too far, use chair time for the isometric exercises and have doen the stairs a lot as I can feel the muscles building.
Plus, I just hate sitting still..... ;)
I figure we are in for another snow; my knees and feet (the *other* weather forecasters!) are saying a change.....
Happy New Year to y'all too!!

Hi Anne! Sounds like you are on the mend, because you have ants in your pants! And any time anyone thinks going to the grocery store is FUN, they have serious cabin fever. haha! But that is because I have to go several times a week to keep the troops fed here. I am so happy that you are getting good sleep, and getting restless - good signs! Take it easy, Miss GoGo! xoxox Pam

Great to hear you are doing better. I can't wait for you to get back to the wet studio as well. But, I'm all about the yarn and needles, so that's OK with me.

Great frogs....er toads...Not sure. Of course you would be the colorful one and probably the most active of the lot, as well! lol.
Each day you are sounding more like your old self. It doesn't take long when the will to get moving again is as strong as yours is.
It is 25* here, but no wind and no snow. ): I want snow. I am staying in today to try to get the house back in order. Did the fun grocery thing yesterday. Hate it!

Pam,

Ooooooo, Miss Go-Go.....I like that name!!! LOL!
Yes, that is truly pitiful when going to the grocery sounds like FUN. As I recall, I normally hate it.
Obviously there is still some ansethesia affecting the grey matter! LOL!!

Thanks Kate!

Either works for me--the art or the needlework; it's just knowing I cannot get TO the art that is the issue! HA!
Soon enough, though, soon enough!! ;)

Hey Audrey,

I sooooo need to clean here, but that is definitely not happening for quite a while (lugging all the stuff, pushing the sweeper, etc).
I might see if I can hire my girlfriend to help....after DH is back at work of course.
You can tell you're getting better when little things begin to bother you....... ;)

...and how many steps are there up and down from your kitchen to the wet studio! Remember, I've been there, you can not tell a lie!

I know telling you not to do it is useless...so just be careful! ~8-)

Good Morning, good morning, good morning. Your UFO pile needs to meet mine, altho mine really needs it's own zip code. Love ya lots and so glad that you are progressing. You'll be whizzing along on the sewing machine sooner than you think.

Hi Anne,
I would be stir crazy by now.
Couldn't you ask DH to kindly bring some paints, brushes and a blank canvas to your living area?
I know I did this when I broke my leg and couldn't get into my studio!
All the best for 2010
Happy Painting,
Hugs,
Anna

Anna had a great idea - if you can't get to your wet studio, have DH bring what you need to you. B'sides, while he's down there getting whatever you need, you'll have a few minutes to do something else that you know he'd frown on if he knew. See? Kill 2 birds with one stone...hah hah.

Hey Vicki,

Seriously, steps are okay. It is the sitting that is problematic at this point. I'm trying to figure it all out.....with my giant brain of course...LOL!!

Hey Leslie,

I decided, with the knitting (from experiences years ago) NOT to have a UFO pile. That's what irks me with the scarf. But one arm warmer is done and the other started, so THAT won't be going in! LOL!
And if or piles met, they might bred....yikes.....new STATE then, not just zip code! LOL!!!

Hi Anna,

It is not the problem of bringing tings up; it is HOW MUCH would have to come up, then as soon as I can sew, it would have to go back DOWN, so I just need to figure a way to comfortably sit downstairs until I can get to sewing commissions upstairs.
ACK.
And I probably need to rest too....really....if I was to admit it.... ;)

Hey MA,

I hate to admit it but I think I have put the poor man through enough already. He had to do the dreaded bird-cage cleanings yesterday.......the Boyz did NOT like their homes being messed with! LOL!!!
So I ahve to cut him a bit of slack, and get him mentally prepared to return to work next week! ;)
