Just..........Snow...........

(click to enlarge the photo; you can see some of the snowflakes falling!)

Yesterday I was quite venturous for a limping *decrepee* on a cane, knowing I could NOT go out but desperately wanting to capture the feeling of early morning snow and the peaceful countryside and the indescribable quiet that comes with it. How quickly we take things for granted, such as going where we please, when we please, without assistance. Yes, I am supposed to use the red walker all the time but in certain areas, the cane is safer. Especially standing by the open studio door, PJs still on, being blasted with snow and cold and shooting a very few photos. It was wonderful! There was that one moment of feeling like I was my old self, doing exactly what I wanted to do and mostly the delight of holding the camera! (and also knowing DH was probably still sound asleep so I would not be scolded for said transgressions.....heehee!)
This is not elegant photography, nor an award winner, but it is special for me. I will remember it as the first photo, one week to the day after surgery, on my feet and heading back to the land of the kicking, running and otherwise those who manage to find trouble.....A.K.A......Anne-Land. (you're all welcome there!) Yes, I'm behaving quite well, doing what I was told for proper recovery, but little things like this.....you just have to grab the chance!
I will be happy when I can get out here and stir up a good creative mess but in the meantime, my gentle readers shall have to suffice with the boring day-to-day "Brain Plops of a Recovering Old Fart".......sigh......if that I had more to offer.
Until better-brain days, and my wicked wit being fully recovered from the Rx's (because I believe I am temporarily mellowed in a few departments) I ask you bear with me.
It will get more entertaining; I promise!  ;-)
Have a wonderful day....I bid you......

Pax.

Anne my dear, I wish you a speedy recovery in more ways than one. I well remember what anasthetics do to the noodle box. Mine is under the weather for other reasons just now and words are playing hide and seek with me. I do hope for a wind change soon.

Meanwhile, be reasonably good and thoroughly enjoy the festive season.

Thank you Arija....it is most entertaining to try and type and fel as though a primate was the one striking the keys with what appears on the screen!
But that too shall pass and I am patient.
Hope you are back to full force, hale and healty soon!

Anne, you are always entertaining, RX or no RX. You think a little thing like that could temper your personality? HAH! It is coming through loud and clear. Enjoy your snow, and try and behave. ;) xoxo Pam

Well, I think your photo is an award winner! It's lovely.

Glad you're on the mend ... maybe you won't need a little treasure I found for you and put on my blog last night! LOL

Keep up the rest and have a little festivity!

You took this photo looking outside your door?? It is fabulous and what views you have from your home!!! I have some views, also, that once in a while I am passing by the windows and I have to just stop and stare and I thank God for what I am so fortunate to look at everyday.
You are sounding more and more like yourself, Anne. No need to worry about entertaining us. It is a joy to read anything you put on your blog.
Keep taking care!!

Hey Pam,

Let me tell you, some of that stuff from the Hx DEFINITELY tempered my personality! I was in La-La Land, loving everything and everyone....well....at least till it wore off! LOL!
So I'm getting back to 50 & Fiesty but there are *moments*......

Oh Tristan, I might not NEED that treasure, but I definitely would TAKE it if given the opportunity!!! (I was looking at it thinking, surely this is just art....not to plop one's nether regions on..)
What a grand entrance I would make for the follow-up! LOL!!!

Hey Marianne,

I'm working each day to get back to at least feeling like I can support myself for some studio work.
And I'm behaving....pfffft.
It was deliciously quiet when that pic was taken; wonderful!

Audrey, yes, that loks directly from my studio door to the farm across the road. Most of the vistas are lousy and require a lot of cropping, but I love that tree. Hopefully they will never cut it. (people here have *cut-itis*)
That was the only pic of the few I took that looked good---the rest pretty well represented the yard for what it is...A MESS!!! LOL!!!

Hey Gypsy,

I had myself propped against the doorcasing, so I was safe. You know, for the most part! HA!
Today and tomorrow look like nasty icy stuff and I am not desiring that with folks on the roads, trying to get in for Christmas. Hopefully the weather will change....
I need to do a post on the humor and hell of trying to dress and not bend a hip...oh yeah.....after Christmas. With those blasted support stockings! (actually, I should have that fol-de-rol on video.....I'd be rich!)
Good being back!!!

Oh Anne, for the first time, I disagree with you...this IS elegant photography. It captures your current spirit perfectly, filled with hope and renewal, and that eagerness to rejoin all you love. Merry Christmas, my friend.

You are always entertaining, Anne. Your photos are wonderful and this one is no exception. It gives a feeling of total awareness of an early snowy morning, before the sun is fully up and everything in gray tones. Glad to have you back.

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Thanks Deb. I guess I could not capture how magical everything looked with the camera; it was a lovely snow and the quality that just *sets the spirit*.....I am more fond of it as I look longer.
Hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Glad to be back Jan, even if it is kind of on a *part time* basis!!!
I have lots of steam, then the next thing I know I'm out cold napping! (which today, with icy rain, is a very good thing!!!)
Take care and have a very Merry Christmas my dear friend!

Being just south of you, we have wet muddy ground. No snow. I always wish for snow on Christmas Eve. This year...I don't know. Not sure we are going to get it. I, like you, don't like not doing for myself so getting up and going forward at any capacity is better than on my fanny doing nothing. How long must you be less abled on your feet?? Usually it's a while for a hip no? Little steps mean leaps later *wink* :)

I personally love your photo!! Hugs to you my friend and feel better!!

Hello! Hello! I was here early this morning but could not stay. How are you dearest Anne? Please do be careful in the snow and ice. That picture of that magnificent tree in winter is most beautiful. I bet it is majestic in the spring, summer and fall.

Okay Anne, I owe you a special one. I have been up to my ears with work. I don't have a day off except Christmas Day and I am on call on New year's Eve. What can I say? Somebody has to mind the fort. Hahaha!

Take care precious!

Oh Tammy, I'm a big kid....I always hope for snow on Christmas Eve....on night we went to Candlenight service, no snow at all, and as we came out, the snowflakes were just falling so gently; it was perfect!
Sounds like we're in for rain here, or ice, and that doesn't make me too happy at all.
I'm doing well walking and the stairs; it's just having the oomph to DO something. Knit last evening, so that was helpful. It is just a matter of PATIENCE......LOL!!!! I see the doc on the 28th so I absolutely HAVE to be GOOD!!!!
Take care my friend.

Hello Ces-Netter!!!!
Good to see your comment; I have been sure you have been busy...know how the Holidays are in any care facility and that you have other things going on right now.
I am being good....yes....I am. Love seeing your illustrations that are so amazing. Better than medicine!
Enjoy your Christmas Day and know what you are giving back to others in the hours you work. I had the best RNs...and as a patient, I so appreciated them!
Keep that FPOT active!!!! ;)
